I was worried about buying a portable carpet cleaner because I had heard other brands had issues with leaking or just weren't as useful as a upright carpet cleaner but my children and pets kept getting my carpets dirty and a portable cleaner seemed more useful. I used it to clean car seats, a cat tower, a chair, the couch, and a carpet and it was able to clean off each stain on all those surfaces. I trust shark because I have only ever owned shark vacuums so after watching a few tiktoks of people using this, I felt confident that this was the best one to buy. I got it while it was on sale and I had some best buy rewards which was even better. I like this one because I have a long haired cat and a corgi who shed a lot.

We love our pets. Our family is blessed with two dogs and one long haired cat. And even though we love them, their messes are a regular chore. Shedding fur is the worst part, but they have a habit of making messes in, on and around furniture. Especially our lovely cat has a tendency of... well... how could I put that in the least gross way? She relieves herself from hairballs on furniture. And our two crazy dogs drag dirt and mud from outside, and I bet you can guess where they head to first to smear all that. If you guessed furniture, you're right. These stains and dirt used to take quite a bit of time to clean manually, brush in one hand and detergent in the other. So we decided to look for a stain remover and ended up with the Shark StainStriker. This baby claims to be able to remove and clean stains pretty much on every surface with minimum effort. So let's break it down and see what's good and what's not. The box contains the machine, several different attachments for just about any cleaning job, two bottles of detergent/odor remover and a very clear manual. This allows users to get started right then and there, which is commendable. Everything feels sturdy but not heavy, and the compact size means you can stash it under your sink or in a small closet. Using the machine itself only requires you to fill the clean water container and pick the right tool for the job and you're ready to go. The suction is great and leaves only a slightly damp surface which dries quickly. Hair, dirt, muddy prints, food stains (our Yorkie loves to hide his food in odd places) and other gunk that I can't even begin to describe. Can the StainStriker tackle all that? Yup! It sure can! I even tried the whole "cereals and milk spill" and it bravely made that mess disappear as well. So far, so good. But not everything is awesome and some improvements could be made. The tanks can leak, especially after filling them up. It's more like a dripping, but it can make a bit of a mess. Another aspect which I'm not a fan of, is that there is no stand or bag or anything to store the different cleaning heads. The reason I bring this up is that this usually leads to losing them. It's not just the StainStriker, it's most other brands as well and it's rather annoying. Also, some dry stains will need to be soaked a bit before using the machine. It's not a big deal, but it's worth mentioning. All in all, the Shark StainStriker HairPro Pet does a very decent job, offering you enough power and cleaning options to tackle anything from simple stains to bigger messes. It's small and light enough to allow for maximum portability, while still delivering excellent results. I can only recommend the StainStriker.

    The best for pet mess!

We've had a regular Shark vacuum for a few years and absolutely love it. We've also had another spot pet cleaner (I'll call them competitor B if that tells you anything). While it worked, it wasn't great. When I saw that Shark had a pet mess cleaner, I had to try it. We have three cats and two dogs, so there's always some mess happening. First, out of the box, this thing is compact! It's more of a square design than my former large oval pet cleaner. It has basically five different attachments. The first is permanent on the hose. It's the mini stain eliminator. It's perfect for tiny spot stains, or stains that are up against the wall. There is also a 3.5" stain eliminator, a 7" stain eliminator, a pet mess extractor and a pet hair extractor tool. I've always used hot water with my older pet stain cleaner, but the Shark says NOT to use hot water. Warm water is okay to use, but I just used cold water. The clean water/solution tank pulls off and you fill with water to the water line and then add the deep clean pet formula to its mark. When you replace the tank, there is a noticeable click to let you know its seated properly. You then remove the StainStriker tank and fill it with the OXY Multiplier. That tank also seats with a nice click. It has instructions on various stain types and how to best remove them (wet vs. dry stain for example). Knowing that I was getting this, and against my better judgement, I left a stain for about a week. It was the first one that I used it on. I simply sprayed it and let it sit for a couple of minutes and then sucked it up in a couple of different directions. It took two runs, but it was gone. I then went around to other stains and had the same results. Bear in mind that I have old carpet (about 23 years old), so it's never going to be perfect anyway, but the StainStriker easily pulled out the stains. My old pet mess cleaner wouldn't have gotten those out very well and it was a pain to clean it. There are a couple of great features on the StainStriker. First, it's incredibly easy to clean. The dirty water tank comes off with a pull of the handle. If you rotate the handle all the way back, the lid comes off to dump and clean it. Inside the dirty water tank is the hair filter (pictured with the yellow handle). It caught all of the hair (both pet and my wife and daughter's!) before it ever went into the dirty water tank. You can simply pull on the yellow hand to remove it from the basket and throw away the hair. Also under the dirty water tank is an air filter. It had a little bit of hair around it, but you simply remove it and the hair rinses away easily. One of the hardest things to deal with on my old cleaner was cleaning the attachments. Although you could remove the clear plastic top piece, it was hard to get into all of the places and get everything clean. The StainStriker has a Rinse & Go Self Wash Cycle. It's on the back of the unit at the top. You simply place the hose attachment on it and it sucks up the fresh water/cleaning solution through the tool to self clean. That's brilliant and it works great! No more pulling off attachments and trying to clean them in the sink. The suction on this thing is also far beyond my old one. It is very powerful and helps to clean and dry and area quickly. The Deep Clean Pet formula had a slight floral scent to me, but it wasn't overpowering and not noticeable after it dried. My only complaint is that you have all of these attachments and there is no storage on the StainStriker for them, so you'll need a cabinet or shelf to store those on. You only have the option to have one of them attached to the hose while it's stored on the unit. With that said, there's nothing better out there. Don't skip this if you don't have pets either. This would be perfect for kid (and adult) messes also!

Compact and convenient way to clean up pet messes

This compact cleaning tool is great for pet messes, spot cleaning furniture and rugs, and even car upholstery. It’s easy to use and easy to keep itself clean, too. Highlights: * Great suction. * Useful attachments for picking up pet hair and nasty messes. * Long cord with a convenient cord wrap. * Relatively quiet. * Compact and easy to carry and store. Room for Improvement: * Tons of latches, removable parts and visual complexity. * No on-board tool storage for extra parts. * Before use, the unit’s weight distribution makes it a bit awkward to carry. Setup: Everything came pre-assembled in the box except for adding water and cleaning solutions. There are 3 liquid tanks; a large tank for fresh water and concentrated cleaning solution mixed together, a separate tank for the Oxy booster solution and the dirty water tank. Basically, all you need to do for setup is fill the “clean” tanks. All 3 tanks are easily removable and are translucent so you can see their fill levels. Start by adding warm (not really hot) water to the main water tank to the “fill” line and then add the concentrated cleaning solution (normal-size bottle provided) to the “solution” fill line. Next, pour the entire bottle of Oxy booster solution (one full tank’s-worth is provided) undiluted into its separate bottle. That’s really it for setup. I will say that the entire unit, while relatively light-weight, is a tad unbalanced before use with all of the water and solutions on one side of the unit and the yet to be used dirty water tank empty on the other side of the handle. Once some of the clean water transfers over to the dirty tank, the whole thing becomes a bit more balanced. Usage: There is a long grounded cord that wraps nicely around two hooks on the unit for storage. The hose also wraps around the body of the unit and the handle stores neatly in hooks, too. When you’re ready to do some cleaning, just pull up on the handle, unwrap the hose, then rotate the top hook and the cord easily pulls off for use. Plug it in and turn it on. There is only one button and one power setting. The permanently attached mini cleaning tool rotates a little for easy handling. It has a trigger to spray cleaning fluid when you need it. If you want to use a different cleaning attachment, they each just snap onto the mini cleaning tool all transformer-like. Each attachments has easily removable bits to make cleaning or unclogging easy. I really appreciate this coming from another brand’s spot cleaner that made it impossible to keep the cleaner itself clean. There’s also a spot on top of the main body where you can press the cleaning attachment down to “suck up” cleaning fluid directly from the tank and flush it through the attachment and the hose to clean them both easily. I cleaned my dog’s bed by first using the Hair Cleaning attachment to suck up all of her fluffy leftovers. There looked like a full dog’s worth of hair in the small bin when I was done, and none of it clogged up the water tanks. Next I used the regular cleaning attachment to clean the now de-fuzzed pet bed. It worked as expected and everything came out great. I haven’t had the need yet (thankfully) to use the pet mess cleaning tool, but it has a small tank in the accessory itself for pickup up yucky messes that you might not want to let flow through the hose and into the dirty water tank. The unit itself is compact and easy to find a spot to store it when you’re done cleaning. As mentioned above, the hose wraps around the unit and the handle stores on hooks. The cord wraps around hooks and is neat and tidy when you’re done using it. Sadly, there is no place to store the extra accessories. You can keep one attached to the permanently-attached compact cleaning wand at the end of the hose, but that still leaves two other attachments to figure out where to put them. Overall: Compact and easy to use. Cleans great. Has useful attachments. A few small improvements would be nice, but the cleaner does a fine job as it is. In true “Shark” fashion, it’s a great value albeit a tad visually complex with tons of parts that need to occasionally be checked. Highly recommended for pet parents or anyone else who has a need to clean up small messes easily.

In my short time of owning the Shark - StainStriker HairPro Pet portable carpet cleaner, I have fallen hard for it. It is so awesome!! As a pet owner, I have always found it convenient to have a portable carpet cleaner for any messes that might occur, and honestly I imagine any household with small children would find it valuable to have as well. This device is certainly an upgrade from my nearly 10 year old one and it really packs a punch. I found the suction to be very impressive with all the included cleaning tools. There are so many things I love with the Shark - StainStriker: the multiple cleaning tools, the cord length, the built-in Rinse & Go for the hand tools, the suction power, the thorough instructions - especially the ones included on the device itself, its water efficiency, the included cleaning solutions (they smell really good too), and the ability to disassemble the tools for cleaning purposes. The only slight negatives I found with this device were: the lack of included storage for the multiple hand tools (since this is a portable aka smaller device it is understandable), the weight is a bit on the heavier side compared to my old portable carpet cleaner, the loudness (but it does have excellent suction power so it’s acceptable), and the shape of the water tank makes it awkward for filling while holding under a faucet (basically have to set it on a flat surface and then pour water into it which adds a step but not a time consuming one). I love all the thoughtful consideration that went into the design of this portable carpet cleaner. Especially with the Rinse & Go self cleaner for the hand tools - it works SO well and with ZERO mess! Seriously awesome! The body of the Shark - StainStriker has built in rungs for the cord to be wrapped up neatly when not in use and additionally allows for the hose to be wrapped and secured on its frame, even with one of the extra hand tools attached. There are stickers with short instructions placed strategically on the cleaner which I found to be incredibly helpful and know they will be with future use as well! I found this portable carpet cleaner to work very well and tested out all the included tools. I love the multifunction of the 3.5” stain eliminator tool in which you can flip from bristles to rubber fins depending on what type of stain you are attacking. I used it on a dried up puke spot on a carpet runner (being used as a doormat), and the dry cleaning steps removed most of the spot but I was able to follow through with wet cleaning to get a deeper clean. I found the pet hair extractor tool to work very well at pulling up hair from a chair I tested it out on. The additional filter does an excellent job of separating hair from running to the dirty water tank, and it removed the water mark that was on the chair. Last, although I didn’t have an “unhygienic wet mess” to clean up, I did test the pet mess extractor tool out on another doormat that is old and dirty due to its purposeful location. The tool did an excellent job of removing an old set in stain, which surprised me. I also liked that the dirty water was contained within the tool’s individual cup and didn’t pass through the hose to the main dirty water tank. Overall, I found all of the cleaning tools to work very well, but my favorite part about the tools is that they can all be quickly disassembled for cleaning, which is a huge and welcomed upgrade from my old portable carpet cleaner. While the Rinse & Go does a great job cleaning out the hand tools, it is nice that a deep, more hygienic cleaning can be completed with the hand tools as needed.

We live in a house with 2 cats. The Stainstriker has already become my go-to, handily beating the older “Bot”. This device is better across the board. I’ve come to trust Shark and Ninja products more than most. The thoughtfulness of the design folks there is sometimes surprising and always appreciated. The packaging is fully recyclable, nice job there. The hardware feels like extremely high quality, every piece is solid, tight and looks like very durable plastics and acrylics. I have yet to find a weak or obvious cost-cutting bit in the whole package. The hose feels sturdy, and the fittings do not leak suction. The other cleaner I have has all kinds of leaks in the hose fittings and cleaning attachments, to the point it has a hard time pulling out any liquids without my closing those leaks with tape. The Shark machine doesn’t have any major suction leaks that I could find. I think the swivel on the tool end of the hose could use more rotation freedom, but I can see they went with a better connection rather than freedom of movement. This likely keeps more of that all-important suction power from leaking, so I think it’s a fair compromise. The hose is removeable from the underside if you need to get in there to clear a clog or just for cleaning the machine. The motor for the suction is loud, as they all are for this type of machine, but it’s quieter than our other spot cleaner by far. The sound is as well damped as appears could be done, more power is better than less noise. While it is loud, it’s not offensively so. Shockingly, there were no immediate cat messes to jump on, so I tried it out on an old stain first. It took 2 passes a few hours apart (I didn’t wait the recommended 24 hours), but I could not tell there was a stain there if I did not know where it was to start with. I think the cleaning chemicals Shark provided are better than what we had previously for the other machine. The cleaners don’t have a strong perfumed odor, it’s more a slight chemical smell (champagne?), and it has faded away quickly. I appreciate that this cleaner does not require hot water, and it doesn’t make me clear out the machine and do a clean water rinse of the area I just cleaned, which makes the process that much faster. The suction is quite powerful, pulling the majority of liquids and the cleaning solution out on the first pass. I found that vacuuming in one direction slowly, then switch direction and pulling it slowly across the same area gets the carpet about as dry as it can be, and it fluffs up the pile so it dries quickly. I tried to think of a tiny stain to use the mini-tool on, but I couldn’t find any good test subjects. However, I have an old gaming headset that had some pretty funky earpads and headband. I figured this might be a job for the permanently attached mini tool that is part of the hose. I sprayed way too much of the solution on them, then scrubbed gently with the yellow fingers. The little suction nozzle is really powerful. It pulled the moisture out of the pads quite easily, and a little pressure on the pads sucked the moisture out of the spongy stuff underneath the pads. It’s fresh as new. The mini tool is clutch. Having such a small cleaning tool always on the hose and ready to go without finding and switching stuff is such a convenience. The suction/scrubbing handle slides onto the side of the main unit’s handle for storage and transport. I am keeping the “fur extractor” attachment handy, too. I was impressed by the amount of fur and other carpet crud that tool was able to pull out of just small sample areas on the couch and floor. I am posting a picture of what it picked up in a freshly vacuumed 1 ft square in a traffic area. The pet hair screens catch plenty of other stuff like carpet fibers which would go right into the tank on most machines. One of the worst parts of messing with these spot cleaners is the chore of cleaning the cleaner. The dirty water tank pulls straight up, you take it to the sink or toilet, flip the handle the other way, and the lid comes off easily, not flinging dirty water around. The tank rinses effortlessly. The fur-catching equipment is legion, even including an air exhaust screen, I guess in case a rogue fur tries to make a run for it. There is a super cool cleaning port on top that you can use to run clean solution through the two smaller attachments and the mini-tool. It doesn’t work with the big “gross job” tool, but that should be washed separately if you’re resorting to that one. This cleaning port might seem superfluous at first, but I can tell from experience that crud does build up in the attachments and hose, and it can get pretty gross. I’m hoping that using the cleaning port each time I run it, I might avoid the grody mung deposits from previous machines. If I could make a wish, the cord would be longer, but they can only fit so much cord on the storage posts. I had to use an extension cord to reach one area, but that was more the fault of living in a 50 year old house (not enough outlets) rather than the cleaner. This is the best spot cleaner I’ve used, and I’ve had (and borrowed) a few over the years. The clear pet focus of the tools and the machine itself make it the cleaner to beat, and it has retired it’s predecessors i this house. 100% recommended.

I love this thing, and I'm a bit annoyed at myself for not picking up a handheld carpet cleaner like this sooner. But I am glad that this was my first purchase of this type machine. Setup is really simple, as there are only a few parts to the machine and using it is even easier. Fill the buckets as described. The smaller bucket takes the entire bottle to reach the fill line (match the color of the bottle to the color of the tank/cap) and the bigger tank is clearly marked with a water line and then an additional line to top off with the cleaner. Besides that, the only other setup is determining which nozzle you need. For normal stains I've been using the wider stain cleaner, and it works great. I don't have to worry about hair much or unsanitary type messes, but if those work as well as the regular nozzle then I suspect they'll adequately clean up a mess. I only have a cat, but as cats do from time to time, they leave little gifts of vomit on the carpet. Why throw up in the 85% of the house that's hardwood/tile flooring? That would make too much sense. I had a stain that I hit with a spray on wipe off type cleaner and it did ok, but left more behind than I would have liked. It had sat for about a week before trying this machine out, and it immediately cleaned the carpet like new. I gave it a bit of scrub with the black thick bristles like recommended, then gave it a quick spray, and let it sit for about 20 seconds. This vacuum just sucked away the mess like it was nothing. After a few passes in different directions to make sure I got all of the cleaner up, it was dry to the touch and looked brand new. I then went around the house looking for any previous attempts I made at cleaning up, and fixed all of those spots too. Things that were months since I gave up on spray on carpet cleaners, this took care of them in seconds. It's lightweight, easy to store, and easy to set up. Cleaning is really simple too. Just remove the dump tank and rinse it out. There are only a few parts to it and the whole thing cleans up in under five minutes. I also really like the built in nozzle and hose cleaner, genius idea that really does keep cleanup to five minutes or less. If you have a pet or a small child, and carpet that magically attracts stains, you definitely should get one of these, it'll keep your carpet looking new. And it'll even pick up stains that are weeks if not months old.

The Shark Stain Striker is pretty amazing. The rug in my kitchen has been there for five years. It’s the perfect size and color. Although it gets vacuumed regularly, it’s never been shampooed. I was amazed to realize that the “tan” part of the design is actually supposed to be ivory! Thanks to the Shark Stain Striker, now it is! See pictures. My labradoodle was (she passed recently) a low shedder. She had hair and fur so she shed a bit. It was long, fine fur and it got everywhere. The pet hair extractor does a fabulous job of cleaning it up. I like how it gets right up next to furniture legs, something the regular vacuum isn’t able to do. She was an older dog and she tended to lay in the same spots. The Stain Striker easily cleaned those spots. When a new dog calls it home over here I’m sure the pet mess extractor will get some use. Love how this tool keeps the pet business cleanup separate from the hose and dirty water tank. When unpacking the Stain Striker there were several attachments and different tanks. I was afraid I would have to read a user manual to figure out how to use all this stuff. On the unit is a QR code that you scan with the camera app of your phone. It takes you directly to the page with the helpful Shark company created videos. The first one is “Getting Stared with your new Shark Stain Striker Hairpro Pet PX250”. Watch this video!! It’s less than 5 minutes and tells you everything you need to know. It covers how to remove the two tanks, which one gets water and where to put the two cleaning solutions. It also shows you how easy it is to attach the various cleaning tools. Watch until the end and the video will demonstrate how to clean the cleaning tools. This is the best feature! It’s called “Rinse & Go” and it is fantastic. Shark clearly put some thought into the design of this product. It is quick to assemble, easy to use and easy to clean. It’s the perfect spot cleaner.

Have you ever felt like a product was complicated but not complicated to use? That's the feeling I've gotten from the Shark StainStriker HairPro Pet. I gave this machine a few tasks... Clean up my stained recliner armrest and pick up pet hair from my bench at the entrance of my home. I'm happy to say that it did a great job with both of those items. SETUP, INSTRUCTIONS, AND UNBOXING Hats off to Shark for doing a few very important things right... Starting with instructions. The instructions are easy to understand, just read the information slowly and don't feel intimidated by the first time setup. Once you follow the instructions and test out your first hose attachment, you'll feel like a pro. For those of us who either lose instructions, or tend to forget what we just read while setting up a new item, Shark has posted instructions all over the StainStriker. Whenever I was wondering how to remove a compartment, clean a brush head, clean the hose, add water/cleaner, the instructions were plainly posted right on the product. Awesome! Along with that, there is a QR code attached to the unit that links to their website and offers more guidance on how to clean up messes and maintain the StainStriker itself. CLEANING FURNITURE STAINS When it comes to stain cleaning, I was very impressed with the StainStriker. My armrest was looking gross, there were some food stains from feeding my son earlier in the week. The StainStriker's Stain Eliminator attachment did a great job of pulling out more than just the stain, it pulled out the dirt, oils, and other nastiness that had seeped into my lounge chair. See the attached photos. When I felt that combination of being grossed out and impressed, I couldn't help but laugh a little bit. This machine does a great job pulling out stains and will be used constantly in my household going forward. PULLING UP PET HAIR When I started cleaning up my shoe bench, I was curious about how well the Pet Hair Extractor attachment would do. I didn't have any stains on the bench, so I did a dry clean for this job. Keep in mind that I've used pet hair rollers (the old school kind and sticky sheets as well) on this bench and those solutions never did a very good job of removing all the hair. There was always a good clump or two left behind. The StainStriker did not have any problems with pulling up all of my orange calico cat's hair though. After running it over a spot twice, almost all of the hair was picked up. Some pieces of hair were "threaded" into the cushion and required manual removal, but that's to be expected with any pet hair removal method, regardless of vacuum suction or stickiness of the lint sheet. Feel free to see the attached photos for the before/after comparison. CLEANING FORMULA I'm feeling impressed with Shark's cleaning formula as well. It works just as good as any furniture/carpet cleaning formula I've used in the past and leaves behind a fresh clean scent. I didn't have any truly terrible messes to clean up for this review, but I feel confident that it'll do a great job with any future tough pet/kid stains that I encounter going forward. Something tells me I'll be using this in my SUV sooner than later! CLOSING THOUGHTS This Shark gets my recommendation. It has an attachment for every type of mess you can imagine cleaning up, even in tight corners and small spots. The Shark StainStriker is a small little cube that can be placed anywhere near an outlet. It includes a hose and four attachments: a 3.5” standard stain eliminator, a “mini” stain eliminator, a pet hair extractor tool, and a pet mess extractor tool. The first two are the standard ones and by the action of scrubbing, spraying, and extracting they will remove stains and liquid messes such as spilled drinks. The second two “pet” tools have their specific uses. The first is straightforward, it’ll remove large amounts of hair from carpets, couches, etc. Our dog is hypoallergenic and doesn’t shed so I haven’t tried this one. The last one is for pet messes (think pee). Our dog has had her fair share of pet accidents and cleaning them by hand was always a chore. The day after receiving this, our poor dog threw up in our bed, on top of the comforter. I didn’t have a chance to clean it immediately because I needed to work so it sat for about 8 hours and dried before I could get to it. Yet, it was no problem for this machine. With a few cycles of spraying the solution, lightly scrubbing the area, and extracting (vacuuming) all of the stain and mess was completely removed. My wife was sure it would destroy the delicate comforter, but it didn’t. After that test, she pointed out an old black spot that had been on the comforter for a while. I went to work on that, not even knowing what it was, and it removed it just as easily. I then went around the house looking for other things that had stains. We don’t have much carpet anymore but do have some cloth bean bags for the kids that had some stains on them. These stains had been there for who knows how long. The first, a dried ring of something spilled, probably soda, came out incredibly easily. A second stain, which I think might have been dried blood, it didn’t get it completely but turned a dark spot into one that’s much harder to spot. The machine comes with two bottles of solution, one that you dilute with water, and an Oxy solution that you don’t. There are also two tanks, so you do not mix them as they get mixed together when you spray. There’s enough of the deep clean solution to fill that tank maybe 4-5 times but there was only enough Oxy solution to fill its tank once. Cleaning the dirty water tank is a lot easier and less messy than my bigger upright carpet cleaner. You simply detach the tank, then remove the entire lid and everything is easily accessible to be rinsed off, including a filter that will catch anything solid that might have gotten sucked up. If you used one of the Pet tools, these each have a cup that needs to be emptied as they fill up. Finally, there is a neat feature called “Rinse & Go” which is where you can use the clean water to run through either the mini or standard stain tool and give them and the hose a good rinse. To do so, you simply place the tool on top of the clean water tank in a special groove and push down. It's a neat idea to help keep things clean but note that it does not work with the pet tools. Pros: - Small and Compact - Comes with Deep Clean and Oxy solutions - Includes a mini and standard sized stain remover tool - Two Pet Specific tools are included: Hair and Mess - Easy to Use and Clean - Rinsing Feature (for Stain Tools) Cons: - Comes with only enough Oxy solution to fill the tank just once Overall – this is a handy machine for spot messes or stains that you want to clean up, it’s much easier to use and more effective than cleaning a mess or trying to remove a stain by hand.

I had two go-to spot cleaner tools before this one. A small, battery operated thing and a plugin machine similar to this one. The problem I had with the plugin machine was just getting it all set up and then cleaning it when I was done was a pretty big hassle. So I pretty much always used the portable battery operated machine. I'm hoping I can change that with this new one because, as convenient and quick as the battery powered machine is, it just doesn't pack the same punch. Setup is pretty easy. There are stickers with step-by-step instructions for a lot of things (like removing the water tanks) and the instructions are pretty straight forward and give you a good idea of what each attachment does. Reading the instructions will let you know about some reversible parts and best steps for care but for the most part, you click the attachment you want to use onto the hose and fill the two reservoirs with water and cleaning solution. Plug in and you're ready to go. Using the machine is also very straight forward if you've ever used any kind of wet vac before. Spray the area, scrub a bit and pull slowly backwards with pressure to suck up the liquid. The included brushes (both bristle and rubber) are all pretty nice depending on the mess and what you're cleaning. The only issue I did run into was with attaching the "pet mess extractor". It just doesn't click in right away and you have to give it a big more of a shove to get it to lock into place. The other attachments all fit really easily. Not only do we have two cats, but we also have two small children. I found some pretty caked on spots of something my kids were eating on the couch and gave them a couple passes over a few days (the instructions tell you to wait a day between passes for stubborn, old stains) and they cleaned up pretty good. A couple other stains that are been around for a really long time look noticeably better right now (I'll probably keep going over them every week or so to see if I can't get rid of them completely). Our cat messes, now a days, are mostly puke and hairballs. This knocks those out without an issue. I'd say it's too much machine for a mess like that. It is nice that there's a hair trap in the waste water bin, though. It doesn't really matter what kind of mess we're cleaning up, there's a good chance it's going to get some hair and having all of that collected in a separate place so we don't have to worry about clogging the drains with it is really nice. The suction, in general, is very good. Compared to my battery powered machine, this is night and day. I don't have to drag the tool over the wet area 50 times to get it a little bit dry. It does it's job and gets most of the liquid pretty quickly. On the negative, it's still quite loud to use. It's not the end of the world. I've heard louder. Plugin vacuums are just loud and I wouldn't trade the power this one has for something a little quieter so I'll take it. The biggest problem this poses for me is that I normally don't find the time to do an extensive vacuum or cleaning job until the kids go to sleep and this could be too loud for that time. Cleanup is pretty simple. One of my biggest issues with the other plugin machine I have is that cat hair and gunk get stuck under the acrylic front plate and there isn't any way to remove it to clean it well. All of the attachments for this Shark machine come apart nicely for cleaning. There's also a self clean mode that cleans out the hose. And because the clean water and cleaning solution are in separate reservoirs, it doesn't waste cleaning solution during the cleaning. Like I mentioned earlier, there's a separate hair trap that comes out to empty into the garbage (and it has a nice step by step instruction sticker on it). Then you just rinse out most of the parts you used and let it dry from the next time. My biggest gripe with this machine extends to my other machine as well. It comes with a variety of attachments but there's no place to put them. I would have loved an extension or something that attached to the vacuum and lets you attach the parts you're not using so they're all kept in one place and ready to use instead of just being tossed in a bag or drawer somewhere not near the vacuum. So does this plugin machine replace the machines I already have? I'm pretty sure it'll replace the other plugin machine I use. The cleanup process and the ability to thoroughly clean the attachments are a big plus for me. Setup is also a big quicker and I would even say it's a little bit quieter (not much). It checks all the boxes for just being a better plugin stain/spot cleaner. Will I use this instead of my portable battery operated cleaner? Probably not, but I might break this one out more often for smaller messes that I would have normally used the battery powered handheld for. This Shark just won't be able to beat the 60 seconds it takes to clean up with the handheld. I just don't think they're made for the same thing and that's fine. But for any mess that isn't tiny, I'll be going straight for this one. It works well.

I have been wanting a portable upholstery wet vacuum for a while now. The bonus is this has the ability for pet hair and pet messes is just - wow.... So setup was super simple. Follow the instructions step by step and you are all set. The cleaning solutions that come with the Shark vacuum is great. All pre measured and ready to use. Overall the attachments all look solid. They snap into place nicely. No slop. The hose wraps around and clips on for storage so this is great. The ninja designers really thought this through along with all the features of the different attachments and what they can do. Unlike other vacuums where you have to buy more accessories this comes with pretty much everything in 1 box at time of purchase. So let's get to the cleaning part. I filled up the tanks and went to town on my dog's bed which was filthy full of slobber and dog hair because she sheds like a snow beast on a hot summer day. This vacuum just sucked up and cleaned all of that with ease. Cleaning the hose is super cool. You just put it on top and depress the button and you get cleaner to flush the hose out. Dumping the dirty water out was nice and easy. Everything stayed locked together until you unlocked it and wanted to disassemble it. Overall great design. Great product. Would highly recommend it for pet owners or just for folks who want an upholstery cleaner. Nice job Shark.

    Shark -StainStriker a Must Have!

Shark -StainStriker has unbelievable suction that lives up to the 20X more Stain-Striking Power.Upon opening the box there is a lot of versatility and options to get you started that can be a bit over whelming. The accessories are plenty that come with this particular unit that makes it the best Pet StainStriker on the market with 3x more pet hair while tackling tough odors like pet urine and smoke. I have a couple of high traffic areas on my carpet that needed attention from embedded stain and dirt. The Shark StainStriker has two forms of cleaning solution of dilute and do not dilute. Following a video on Youtube to help, I was able to fill the water tank and top off with the dilute of system formular one and then fill the smaller blue tank of system formular two blue bottle and tank. I choose the stain eliminating tool to use for built in stains that I have on my carpet. Once the tanks are filled and secure you just plug in the cord and hit power button. There is wet stain and dry stain cleaning. I had a dry satin and there is stain guide where you have to spray, scrub and then drag the stain eliminating tool across the stain. It took about ten minutes of spraying and scrubbing and using the tool for until the water tank was empty by looking through window to show fluid being released from the tank. The Shark StainStriker did an amazing job that overnight to dry the next morning look like new carpet. Detaching and cleaning the water tank is so easy and has a seperate device to capture hair and debri. There is also a rinse and go self-wash for the tools and hose. What a great Shark StainStriker product that has the perfect size tank for cleaning and in a light weight portable system.I will be using over and over again.

Attachments are great. Works well. A bit loud but not unbearable. Does a good job of cleaning up messes and general cleaning. Machine isn't intuitive but is easy once you get the hang of it. Good suction. Be careful with the attachments. They can be a bit difficult and the machine will leak if they are not just so. Overall, I am really happy with my purchase!

Assembly for the Shark StainStriker HairPro Pet was quick and straightforward, and I immediately appreciated how lightweight and compact it is. It’s easy to store, though I do wish there was a better place to keep the extra heads. The real test came when I used it on an old pet urine stain in my daughter’s room. We had cleaned the spot by hand with the usual pet products, but a brown stain stuck around for months. After just one use of the StainStriker, the stain was noticeably better. While it wasn’t completely gone after the first pass, the improvement was impressive, especially considering how long the stain had been there. With another pass or two, I’m confident it will be gone for good. The two-tank system works well enough, but because it’s a portable unit, you end up filling the whole thing even for small jobs, which wastes a lot of cleaner. And that stuff isn’t cheap! I did really like how the pet hair tool has a separate tank for collecting hair before it reaches the dirty water tank, keeping things clog-free. Overall, the Shark StainStriker HairPro Pet is easy to use, effective, and ideal for small jobs. If you’ve got pets (or messy babies) and need a reliable stain remover, this is a great option to consider!

I recently tried the Shark upholstery cleaner, and overall I’m very impressed with how well it performs. The unit is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and simple to set up. The suction power is strong, pulling dirt and debris out of fabric that I didn’t even realize was there. It works especially well on couches, car seats, and fabric chairs—leaving them looking noticeably fresher and cleaner. On the downside, the cord could be a little longer, and the water tank isn’t huge, so for larger jobs you’ll need to refill a couple of times. Also, it can be a bit noisy during use, but that’s expected with most compact cleaners.

My Shark Stainstriker came well packed and completly intact. I'm happy to say no Styrofoam was used in the packaging just corrugated cardboard. I'm usually not prone to reading the directions, however this unit isn’t very intuitive, so I did go picture by picture to set it up. It was very easy and I was abouth the business of cleaning in no time. First the unit is very compact for spot cleaning carpets or area rugs. It is lightweight and very easy to carry around. It does not have onboard storage for the three different tools that attach to the hose. As you can see by the attached picture, this cleaner does a great job of cleaning. This is a combination of two years of just vacuuming and a new puppy that is in the process of being house broken. I really like the fresh scent of the cleaners, I sprayed the water solution and let it set for a minute or so and then scubbed and vacuumed all at once. Initially I considered giving the unit 4 stars, however it should be more like 4.5, only because it leaves a lot more moisture in the rug than I'd prefer. Again, however, the picture of the dirty water speaks volumes

Read a review how good this machine is and bought it. Sure glad I did. Small footprint and light. Multiple attachments for any cleaning need. Excellent suction. I've owned 3 Little Green Machines, which were good. But they kept breaking/leaking. Very impressed with this Shark's cleaning ability and the self-cleaning function built in.
