I received a free product for testing and my unbiased feedback is as follows:
Let's start from the outside. The SHARKK Bus-Powered 4-Port USB Hub looks as great as it works. The black casing and the blue ports look amazing, and the product feels solid and durable. I haven't dropped it, as I would hate to purposely drop such a great product, but it looks and feels like it could take a few.
Now, moving on to how the product actually works... After attaching the hub to your device of choice keep in mind that you must press the button in order for the device to work and the driver to install (the instructions did say no drivers necessary, but the device did install a driver on my Windows laptop...) Also, you can plug the hub into either a USB 3.0 or 2.0, both will work. According to the instructions, the hub is "backwards compatible with USB 2.0/1.1" however, I plugged the hub right into my USB 2.0 on my laptop "right side up," so keep that in mind. In my experience, the best use of this product is for data transfer, which it does a very good job of. The instruction manual says not to use the hub to charge iPhones, iPads, or high end smartphones, so I didn't feel like trying that out. However, it did seem to charge my dumb phone just fine. The manual also says that, "2.4Ghz wireless devices (keyboards, mice, etc.) may not work around USB 3.0 ports. Try using a USB 2.0 connection." This is exactly what I experienced in my testing. I plugged the USB 2.0 receiver for my SHARKK wireless mouse (another great product from SHARKK) into the hub and it didn't work with my laptop, so, once again, this product is best for those of you who need ports for data transfer.
Overall, I am very happy with my second SHARKK experience. As a growing company, I think their products do them justice. Once the word gets out, which I hope this review will help to do, they could become the Logitech of today. Good job SHARKK!

I've been looking for something like this for literally years. It's the PERFECT hub for 3.0 hard drives. I have two drives, Gork & Mork, which backup my collection of everything from music to old tax returns. I don't like having hard drives running 24x7 and since most will turn off if the port isn't supplying power, this saves having to unplug USB cables from the back of the PC or even from the hub when not using the drives.
The connector cable is long enough to give a reasonable distance, but short enough to not be clutter. The only thing I can say bad about it is that it's incredibly light weight and feels like you could break it very easily if you're rough and dropped it or stepped on it or something.
Otherwise, several months in and working great. Note, it does say in the instructions it's not necessarily very good for 2.0 wireless mice and keyboards, though I'm not sure why you'd need a hub with a power button if you're using those.

Excellent product, Great Price

I got this product to add additional USB ports to my laptop. The packaging is neat, the product looks great, and is aesthetically designed.
It sits firms on a flat surface, and the 4 USB 3.0 ports work flawlessly. I used it to transfer data from my external hard disk to the laptop, and the speeds were acceptable for a USB 3.0 port.
I did hook the other ports to other devices like phones and mouse and there is no significant degradation in performance that i observed even when i used all the 4 ports.
The hub looks rigid and can take a couple of falls without breaking apart. The wiring is of good quality and doesn't seem like it will come off anytime soon.
Overall, a worthy product to buy.

Worked fine while it worked; doesn't now

Bought this hub a few weeks ago and it worked fine until now. It has an on/off button which now does not stay on. It will turn on if I hold it down but doesn't stay engaged when I let up. I'm not sure why a hub needs to have an on/off function in the first place--just one more thing to overlook when a peripheral doesn't work right. I bought it because it was cheap and with a simple pass-through device like this, what could possibly go wrong? Alas, you get what you pay for.

Great value for money USB 3.0 Hub with 4 ports

The Sharkk 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub is great value for money when you compare it to other USB 3.0 - 4 port hubs cost around $20-$25 for the same performance. I have this hooked up to an Alienware laptop, I have a HP printer plugged in, a Logitech gaming mouse, a Logitech mechanical keyboard and sometimes an external hard drive. It seems to handle all 4 devices concurrently without any issues for almost 1 year now. The only draw back is that the cord is only 1 foot long,if it was longer then it would be flawless.

Doesn't work with my HP laptop running Win7

All the documentation stated this device required no device drivers. Following the instructions that came with the device, I plugged it into my USB port. Windows immediately popped up the new device found installing drivers. But Windows never found the drivers (locally or on Windows update). It appears this device is not intended for use with Windows 7. This would have been nice to know before I purchased it. It will be going back today.
