The microwave is exceptionally quiet and that’s the biggest benefit I could think from my old whirlpool microwave. The other thing I like about this microwave is that after the cooking is done it doesn’t constantly remind you with a beep for a minutes after which my Whirlpool used to do ..the last thing I wanted to remind anybody else who is wondering this is a over the range microwave it’s not in built in, but you can buy a kit to make it look like it is in built however, the in kit cost about like $300 … as a workaround I found that I was able to use my existing Whirlpool kit by making some adjustment using something 2x4s at the bottom. The stainless steel finish is slightly different between the whirlpool and sharp but it still kind of works out if you’re saving $350 on the piece of aluminum kit

I will first like to say that I had a Sharp microwave for about nine years and after it served me well I replaced it with another brand. I am completely stupid for picking another brand. It worked OK, but it was not as hot or worked as as well as as my original. After it finally stopped working. I ended up having to replace my microwave again. I replaced it with this unit. I’m so glad that I bought the bigger version of this. It can cook foods very quickly and the inverter circuitry works perfect. Food is cooked evenly in a short time and works flawlessly regardless of what is put in it to heat up. I’m absolutely thrilled after four weeks of use that this works perfectly with no issues and no problematic occurrences of any kind. It’s well laid out and the controls and sensors do what they’re supposed to. The internal light is a LED light and is bright enough to show you foods as they are cooking. The dark interior finish is very well made and is very easy to clean.Make sure you register this product and also get the updated instruction manual on the Sharp USA website. Make sure you have a lot of countertop room if you purchased this unit because it’s a fairly deep unit. Also another thing to remember is make sure you have a minimum of a 15 amp circuit dedicated for this unit. It just works a lot better that way. I cannot recommend anything else after having this brand and especially this model. I am thoroughly pleased with this unit.

A Quick Look at the Sharp Microwave Oven.

Recently purchased this Sharp microwave oven to replace an older version of this same model. This is a very quick look at it. The oven is large enough to accept any container that we have around the house and any prepackaged food item that we've purchased. One immediate difference is with the internal lamp. The old unit had a lightbulb that emitted a warm white light just like a standard incandescent lightbulb. This new model has a bulb that emits a light that is more bluish in color. The unit is very quiet during operation (much more so than the older version that it replaced). Programming-wise, it operates identically as its older counterpart. The oven cooks food fairly well. No issues heating things such as soup, frozen foods or heating coffee & other hot drinks. All in all, a good choice for a family-sized microwave ove

I had this microwave shipped to me. It came in with the side bent in. I called Best Buy and they told me they would have someone come and exchange it. Instead, I got an e-mail stating I had to wait for UPS to come and get it. It will take up to 10 days to refund my money. This is very disappointing. I expect better from Best Buy.

I've always had good luck with Sharp Carousel Microwaves, so when my last one finally said "I've had enough" after many years, I looked at the current offerings. After researching different brands and models (old habit from Dad - buy once, apologize to your bank account once) I decided on the new Sharp 2.2 cu. ft. with Inverter Cooking. And it HAS NOT disappointed. The unit is well packaged, easy to get set up, and the manual for it is the normal mish-mash of clear instructions and some head scratching passages. All in all though - not bad. Pros: Cavernous space inside. Sensor cooking. Sensor cooking. (Yes, doubled up because this feature ROCKS). Well lit inside. Easy to wipe down sides and carousel. Pretty quiet operation noise level. Sharp looking unit to boot. Cons: If you're used to just punching in numbers for time and smacking enter, you're going to be disappointed you have an extra button to punch first. To do a timed cook, you have to hit (wait for it) Timed Cook, then input the time. To select a Power Level, you'll just enter a number from 1 to 9 (mentally add a "0" to the end for your percentage). The quick time setting is now 30 seconds instead of a minute like the old one, so twice the button boops for your cook but eh, no big deal. Not a deal breaker. To the Sharp engineers - either better contrast on the panel cover or backlight the critter, please. These older eyes have to really squint sometime to see the buttons clearly. Back to the Sensor Cook. Hot dang, Sharp finally got microwaving right. Tossed three medium size white potatoes in a bowl, punched in Potatoes and let it rip. Absolutely perfect "baked" potatoes. None of the hard, overcooked crusty contact patch with the bowl - just done. This is worth the purchase price alone. I'll eventually try all the programmed features, but those that I have tried have worked really, really well. I'm so used to calculating time/power settings, no power period then another time/power setting for most things - I might get out of practice with this new unit. If you need a large "family size" microwave, I believe you will be extremely happy with this model.

We bought this microwave because we needed a second one for a home we're remodeling. Overall we've been very happy with the Sharp brand when it comes to microwaves (our last two have been Sharp brand). This one is slightly bigger than our other. We really enjoy the convenience of a larger microwave in that it fits any dish we want to put in it.... The downside being it does take up a significant amount of counter space. The microwave itself is very quiet and does a very good job of heating things up. The inverter means you get an actual percentage pf power when you set it to say 50% rather than all on and all off at intervals. The interior is grey in color. It doesnt matter to us but i remember seeing two negative reviews someone posted once complaining that their microwave interior was grey and another that it was too quiet (proof that people will always find something to complain about). The only thing that was a bit of a problem for us was that the child aafety was enabled by default which makes it so you cant open the door. This was easily solved by disabling that feature following the instructions in the manual. Otherwise the microwave has been wonderful and we're very happy with the purchase. I'd recommend this microwave to anyome that wants a one with a larger cooking space.

This microwave is powerful and SUPER quiet! Its massive inside too. Had it for a few months now without any issues. Installed it in a cabinet using the optional wall kit. Install was easy and unlike the microwave we replaced, you didn't have to screw a bunch of ducting etc to the microwave. It just sat inside the cabinet on holes that matched the feet location. Wall kit is linked below. This model was not listed but after contacting Sharp they informed me that it would fit, and it did. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sharp-30-in-built-in-microwave-trim-kit-for-smc2266hs-silver/6600456.p?skuId=6600456

This is a spacious and powerful microwave. Just like the barbershop in Coming to America, it's My-T-Sharp! This replaced a 23-year old spacious and fantastic Sharp Platinum Collection bought open box at Best Buy all those years ago that finally gave out with a flash behind the wave guide cover. I figured that it was easier to just replace than repair after more than two decades. And so I had to pick out another Sharp microwave. This has all the bells and whistles I wanted, such as excellent sensor reheating and space enough to reheat an entire Pyrex pan of lasagna, as well as the new inverter tech. It amazes me how people won't bother to read. You don't have to unlock the door each time. Sharp published the all too easy instructions to disable: https://shop.sharpusa.com/child-resistant-door-lock-support/?srsltid=AfmBOooln6koOFQjx_u3f7h9DfWXjFxohtAOOuNlBFFFnok3NBeHwKiW

It’s very spacious—just barely fit into my microwave cabinet. It runs so quietly that at first, I wasn’t sure it was even working! At 1200 watts, it’s incredibly powerful. A word of advice: be careful! This microwave heats food much faster than you might expect.

This is the best microwave I have owned so far. It is very quiet and has very simple to use quick cooking functions. I have not gotten into any of the more advanced functions, but I don't really use those anyway. Great size, super quiet and heats very well and even.

Works great. The sensor reheat works better than any others I've had. The only thing I would change is the finished alert. I have an almost identical model and the alert reminds you once every minute until the door is opened. This one only alerts you once. I hate opening the door to put something in and finding a cold cup of coffee or tea that has been there all day or night.

I’ve had this Sharp 2.2 cu. ft. microwave for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The 1200 watts of power make heating incredibly fast and even, no more cold spots in the middle of leftovers. The inverter technology really does make a difference; it gently reheats soups and sauces without boiling them over or drying out the edges. The stainless-steel finish looks elegant and professional in my kitchen, and it’s easy to wipe clean. The controls are intuitive, with just the right balance of preset options and manual control. I especially appreciate the spacious interior, it easily fits large casserole dishes and dinner plates with room to spare. Overall, this microwave feels like a premium appliance at a very fair price. It’s quiet, efficient, and reliable, exactly what you’d hope for in a daily-use kitchen workhorse. Highly recommended!

This microwave is excellent. It takes half the time of my previous one to heat food. The automatic temperature sensor is great. It only takes me 1 minute to get a hot cup of tea. It is large, but it fits well in my kitchen and I like the larger capacity.
