This microwave replaces a 10 year old Sharp microwave that was built-in. The new microwave has a lot of great features that the old one didn't. The new one required a new built-in kit because the old kit did not work with the new one

Our Sharp 2.2 cu foot microwave lasted from July 2016 to March 2018. It is shorting out. Due to the size of the unit, we are replacing it with another unit purchased elsewhere. We are used to Sharp microwaves lasting decades, not less than 2 years. It is not worth trying to ship this back or carry it in for repair as it is just too large physically for me to lift. It is too big to be cost effective to ship it anywhere. Specifically the microwave worked fine until the last couple of days when it started shorting out, making a hissing sound. This doesn't sound safe to use and we have unplugged the unit. Also by comparison, our 20 year + Sharp unit that we had previously had a fold down door, as opposed to the door opening to the left. No fold down door units seem to be left. But that was a convenient design. My faith in Sharp has been destroyed. It is a pity that a standard commodity like a microwave should fail so soon after purchase. We will never buy a Sharp product again. We have selected a Panasonic 2.2 cu foot microwave to replace that seems well rated by Consumer Reports.

Sharp has always been dependable for my family, so when it was time to replace the microwave I was looking for one with large capacity. This 2.2 cu is able to handle our large serving dishes and cook the food without any problems.

I love the stainless steel. I like the one touch minute buttons. I really like how large it is; no problem fitting any microwave dish in. I have only used a couple of the sensor cook buttons but have been happy with those.

Our house came with a small Sharp microwave and every time we used it the dishes would bump the sides of the microwave. With this large capacity, there are no issues for even the large glass baking dishes.

Our GE built in microwave died and we needed a substitute. This one fit exactly and is just what we needed.

I love the Sharp brand . My last Sharp microwave had this same push button door opener and the button broke so I was unable to open the door. I priced getting it fixed and it would cost as much as a new microwave. So, I wound up throwing out a great working microwave, except I couldn't open the door. I would have preferred having a Sharp microwave with a door handle, but I was unable to find one that I liked. My salesman said that door opener is how the manufacturer makes the product consumable because many customers have complained about it breaking So, I once again have the push button door opener on the microwave, and I am trying to be ever so careful with it so it provides a longer service record than my last Sharp microwave.. Other than the push button door opener, it is a terrific working microwave.

We love this microwave, we got it to help us get through a kitchen rennovation. It heats quickly and evenly and fits large bowls and big, square plates that were too big for my old microwave.

Great size microwave for a family. Only complaint is that I can't figure out how to punch in 1 min 15 seconds. for some reason it only allow you to hit 1 = 1 min, 2 = 2 min, 3 = 3 min, 4 = 4 min etc.

I was looking for a microwave greater than 2.0 cu. ft. and this one fit the bill. Very versatile and easy to use.

My wife & I bought this for our daughter, who previously had a small microwave...she loves the new one! Now she can heat things (or defrost them) in much less time than in the past. In a nutshell, she loves her new Sharp microwave!

It's been nearly two years and we are still using our microwave. It is nice and roomy and does a wonderful job of heating our food up quickly just as it should. It is perfect for our needs.

I would recommend This microwave, it he 12 and also fits in an above counter microwave cabinet when most others would not, perfect size for my space and still puts out the power we need

2.2 cubic feet and 1200 watts for under $150 is a real bargain. That means you get a budget priced microwave that fits large plates, or tall items, and cooks them faster than most other microwaves. No more taking your plate out of the microwave just to find out it has to go back in just a little bit longer, oops maybe just a little longer again...

We were looking to replace a similar sized combo cooker. We opted for a microwave only. This works well for us.

It is simple enough for my husband to use it and has enough options to make it great for me to use.

Great size. Love the fact that it has sensors to monitor internal food temperature. Lots of choices in the settings. Good looking clean design. Would gladly recommend it. The menu panel is hard to read though, perhaps the next version will be backlit.

Perfect microwave for the price!! I just moved into a new house and this fit perfectly on the counter.
