I replaced my built in microwave with this microwave. My older Whitlpool died, they still sell the same model with the same old features after 10 years (and costs much more than the Sharp), so I decided to buy this Sharp that is quieter, higher tech, and includes sensor cooking. Looks great and works great. The price is incredible. This is a wonderful product.

The sound of this microwave oven is very low but there is a lot of noise when closing the door it would have been better if it was lower because when it is switched on there is no noise it is very safe from noise pollution but it is very loud when opening and closing the door if the noise could be reduced Then it would have developed more models and sold more. Its size and color are very nice but it would be better if the price is a bit lower and let's see how well it works And this microwave can't heat anything by setting time like I want to heat for 1 minute 30 seconds I don't see this function there hope they keep this system when they bring out new models

I measured twice to ensure this would fit under my cabinets on my counter top. Measured height and width twice to ensure that it wouldnt clash. Only, I forgot to meaure DEPTH. It juts out about 4” further than my previous model. But who cares? It’s HUGE! I mean if you wanna slow micro a 12 lb turkey, here you go! Honestly, come to think if it, I can’t think of anything I couldnt fit into my old one. But who cares? It’s HUGE! And it’s QUIET, too. No more waking up the wife and kids at 5:30 AM while I nuke up my Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowl. Opening and closing the door and the beeps are louder than the machine. Only issue was that i had to reach deep into the cavernous insides to retrieve my low carb breakfast bowl. But who cares? It’s HUGE!

We were looking for a large, attractive microwave so that we could cook or heat two meals at the same time, so we can eat together. A must was an easily readable control panel. This Sharp unit was highly rated and is perfect.

It is very quiet over my last microwave which was 2007 sharp model. Havent tried all the functions but heats up things really well. Easy to read Sturdy build quality. I trust sharp so bought this brand again. Really happy with my purchase.Key pad Lock feature prevents children from accessing it which is necessary for parents.

This product can do it all..Sensor cook, Express cook, melt/soften, Timer etc. It’s large enough to handle very large meals. It’s a great value for price and I’d recommend it for all. It was delivered on time and without damage.

Heats up food super fast and hot. Easy to use. Can heat up even large casseroles or big plates of food for the whole family

We were very excited about getting this unit. A tad nervous that it may not live up to its advertised hype. So far so good. Not your typical microwave, it’s very strong all while heating the food evenly.

My last Sharp Carousel II microwave lasted over 37 years. This new one has many new features which are easy to use. The manual is user-friendly and I love everything about my newest Sharp 2.2 cu ft microwave oven. The price from Best Buy is phenomenal and delivery was free with 2 days delivery after purchasing on-line.,

Microwaves are an integral part of every household. Their use and features are often underestimated until you are either without one or get to use a lower featured spec. Sharp’s 2.2 cu ft Stainless Family Size Countertop Microwave with Sensor cooking and Inverter Technology is a quiet but powerful elegant workhorse that makes a breeze of the routine features and options, we have become acquainted with. Packaged in the box: • Sharp 2.2 cu ft Stainless Family Size Countertop Microwave • Glass cooking tray • Roller guide • Operation manual booklet and extended warranty flyer With a cavity dimensioned at about 17.8 x 18.9 x 11.2 inches, there should be little to none that would pose a challenge. The microwave has an output rating of 1200 W, which I found to produce lower noise levels than some 1000 W variants. The user has the option of 11 power levels (0 to 10) when there is a need to modify the default output; the various power levels represent the equivalent percentages (i.e., power level 9 is 90 percent default power output.) In my experience with high powered microwaves, it may be necessary to either reduce power levels or lessen cook times when following recipe instructions typically based on lower output microwaves. The brushed stainless steel and sleek lines match my existing appliances well so the microwave does not appear out of place. There does not to be any smudge resistance so fingerprints may be left especially by the door release and on the door. Shutting the door requires minimum effort and is also not loud. The interior is gray with a cool white LED lamp illumination which has grown on me. I typically prefer “warmer temperatures” when it comes to lighting but I believe the interior gray color may have played a part in the final selection. During operation, the interior can be easily seen through the viewing screen on the door. The control panel consists of a 3-line monochrome LCD that is easy to read and 27 input touchpad that helps the user access all the features. For convenience, cooking can be initiated in 30 second increments, 1-to-6-minute preset times or manually entering a desired time. There are 6 preset modes for Potato, Beverage, Veggie, Frozen Entrée, Popcorn and Sensor Reheat that make up the Sensor Cook array of options. These options have preset measurements (weight in ounces or number of cups for beverage) that guide cooking. To help the user, the appropriate unit of measure is depicted on the display. The popcorn feature for example has 1.75, 3.0 and 3.5 ounces as possibilities. I have used the 3.0-ounce option for a 2.75-ounce popcorn with no burnt results. The sensor reheat automatically heats contents until steam is produced at which point it ends after a 20 second countdown. Auto defrost feature enables selection of the appropriate produce (meat, poultry or fish) by weight for programmed cooking. Time Cook is the customizable power level and duration option. It is indeed the most versatile mode as it allows a maximum of two stage user defined cooking. Different power levels can be set for different durations. I suspect the programmed options for defrost, for example, may cycle through similar modes but it is definitely convenient the user can also have control to some extent. The maximum cook time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds, which I have yet to have the need to exceed. Time Defrost allows the user to set a duration for defrosting, at a default 30 percent power level. Melt/Soften feature cycles through butter, chocolate, ice cream and cheese selections via programmed modes to facilitate the desired consistency. For optimum results, the manual suggests 3.5 ounces or 7 ounces as possible selections when butter is selected. My first attempt ended up with bubbling butter. I have learnt to use these weight options as suggestions and keep watch when in use to achieve the desired results, especially when your goal was to soften and not go to the extreme of melting. In addition to the various cooking options, the microwave packs a clock, kitchen timer (99 minutes and 99 seconds maximum), child safety lock, memory and a silent mode. Memory can store three user-defined cooking modes (specific power levels, durations and even two stage options.) the only downside to this feature, like the clock, is that it requires reprogramming when power is cut/lost to the unit. When enabled, the silent mode mutes all the sounds associated with feature selection and confirmation cooking has been completed; perfect for smaller spaces or late-night operations. Sharp as a manufacturer goes a long way with electronics. This 2.2 cu ft Stainless Family Size Countertop Microwave with Sensor cooking and Inverter Technology is feature packed and appears well-built. When microwaves typically fail, it’s either the door latch mechanism or more fatally, the magnetron. To improve this unit, I would recommend Sharp throw in a food cover. The unit comes with a year’s warranty for parts and labor. The magnetron includes an additional 4 years for only parts. There is an option for extended warranty but I have yet to decide if that may be worth the cost. The minimalistic design, 1200 W of power, 2.2 cu ft of interior space (if you have the counter space) and the quietness of the unit all check my requirements in a microwave; I highly recommend this.
