I like this system very much, because I like the features it has. Also, I like the idea of it having a cassette player because I still listen to tapes especially the ones I made for myself long ago.

The sound quality is great and it even has a USB port for iphone type devices. It also has a digital audio input too, along with a headphone port. It would be nice if the speakers had more than 5 feet of cord though.

I purchased this stereo for my dad because he still owns cassettes and CDs. Not many stereos have those options anymore, and I was super excited to find this cassette and 5 disc holder. And to top it all off, I can connect my iPod as well. The sound is great and definitely was an excellent buy.

I use it at home only and I really love the tape deck and 5 CD changer. I don't use iPods, but the dock is there and you have several different brackets included. The extra bass setting is also good even though I have the bass and treble settings at maximum. Plenty of power to get really loud but it sounds great at any level. I had some difficulty getting the radio stations tuned in but after reading the instructions completely, that was resolved as well. The only downside is the length of the speaker wires. it is a good sized stereo and most people have limited options in location for a stereo. That's where speaker placement is important but these are so short that the speakers have to stay with the main unit. There is no surround sound option (not really needed, great sound) and the wire length limits that even more. So, overall I am very happy with this unit, especially for the price, either surround sound, an option for longer wires or both would make this a 5-star item.

    Basic Stereo

Went to purchase an in home stereo system that could support CD, Cassette and MP3, along with an Aux input. This was the only one in this class. It does what a basic system like this should do. It has no special features other than a Bass booster. The antenna doesn't work well, so plan on purchasing a better antenna if in a rural area. Can play up to 5 CD's, makes a lot of noise with changing disks, but the sound is acceptable. The speakers are what is to be expected for the price. Wish there were more options when needing support to play collections that are not solely off of downloaded electronics. Speaking of which, it does allow you to recharge and "dock" devices.

This has been an awesome stereo for me. I love the way it sounds, great bass, and plenty of mid and high as well. The only problem I have is that the Ipod dock on the top is for earlier model Ipods and doesn't work for nano or any of the recent models that I have found. I would love to be able to plug my Ipod in and let it run, but the USB cable didn't interface with the system, however I have plenty of CD's and the five disk changer is great for just putting on a ton of music and letting it play all day.

I bought the Sharp 240W 5-Disc Compact system because it had a full logic cassette deck and didn't look like a "boom box". I previously owned Sharp audio products and thought it would be a good buy. A good buy but the instructions are somewhat challenging to use the Radio and Cassette Deck as they are set up from the same feature button. Getting a FM station without static requires the FM antenna hook-up. The sound is great and best on CD;s.

I am very pleased with the performance overall. I purchased this system for my parents to replace an older Aiwa unit they had with a 3 disc CD Changer that they used frequently. So I figured a 5 CD Changer would be even better for them. The only problem is the random play feature on the CD Changer doesn't quite work that great. It will only randomly play the tracks on one CD at a time before it will play the tracks on another disc. I will say my mother was disappointed that the feature didn't work the way she hoped like her last system did, plus in order to get it to play in random order you have to have the remote and hold down multiple buttons to get it work. Not very user friendly. The system does work and the sound quality is really good too, but it's operation is bit difficult and the labels on the system are hard to read too. It's grey text labels with a black background. If it's stored in a cabinet, make sure you have a flashlight to read the labels on the buttons.

After I accidentally "killed" my previous 5-disc changer, I thought it would be easy enough to replace it. Boy was I wrong. Thank goodness Sharp has not forgotten those of us with massive CD collections. The unit is well priced and sounds fantastic. It's a little larger than my old unit but it still fits in the nooks and crannies where I have it seated. Great unit, great price...thanks Sharp!

I wanted a compact stereo to use in my garage. I chose this stereo because it had a cassette player and also could play multiple CD's. It has a remote control and the 2 speakers sound good.

    Nice bookshelf system

I bought this to replace my old bookshelf stereo after it bit the dust. This cost a bit more, but not too much -- and it's more than worth the extra money. (I also considered a much cheaper system, but when I went to check it in the store it was so shoddy I wouldn't have taken it for free.) I wanted a five cd system and this has it. You can also play the songs in random order, but only one cd at a time -- not all five (unless I'm missing something). A bonus for me is the cassette tape player since I still have a lot of cassettes from years ago. The radio is clear and clean and I don't have any of the reception problems I had experienced in the past. The sound quality is fine for an office bookshelf system with good stereo separation. My one complaint is that it sounds like the cd player cycles through a self check every time you turn the unit on -- even if you're only listening to the radio. It's no big deal, but seems like it could prematurely wear out mechanically by this unnecessary cycling through the cds even if you're not going to use that function. All in all, I'm very happy with it so far and would recommend it.

I looked at many reviews and at many systems before purchasing this system. It was on sale and matched what I could find on Amazon. I like all of its features including the rich sound, and it fits on my small shelves. The cd changer making noise between CDs is the only reason I can not give it a 5.

This is a nice unit for the money. Its hard to find something that will play all of the listed: CDs, cassette tapes, IPOD, AM & FM radio. he unit looks good but my one big complaint is the short speaker wires. If you wanted to separate the speakers an additional 3 feet of wire for each speaker would have been great. Seemed kind of cheap on the manufacturers part.

My parents are old folks who need cassette tape, cd, radio functions. This has all. The sound is really good too! All features are satisfied except the repeating the track on cd. Maybe i need to read the manual how to run it, but usually i used to figure out how right away. This is the only missing part; otherwise all good and recommend the product.

I love this system. It has everything I wanted. I still have an extensive collection of cassette tapes and it is getting harder an harder to get players that have good sound quality. I also like that the unit remembers which disk was playing when I turned it off and picks up with that disk when I turn it back on

Since most of the world has gone to I-Tunes and other downloaded music, it is hard to find a CD player that has a CD changer so you can load several CDs at one time. We have lots of CDs we like to listen to and our old player was on its last legs. When we found this one at Best Buy and it also had a TAPE DECK, we were delighted. The sound quality is great, the unit is not too big and it performs well. We felt like we should buy two since it won't be too long before no one carries CD players or tape decks.

Best Buy did not have a wide range of stereos to choose from. This stereo is a good buy for the money in comparison to the other products they offered.
