This TV exceeds my expections. The picture quality is excellent and impressive. The set up was quick and easy. Netflix, Showtime, Vudu, film quality is amazing. There are so many movies to watch with ROKU. VUdu has some that are free. Others you have to have a subscription to their service. If you have a receiver like a Dish or Direct TV, in order to see the true quality you have to upgrade to a HD receiver which is an additional $10 in your cable or satellite bill. This is my second Sharp TV. The first one I got I had to return because it emitted this chemical burning smell that did not go away. The second one had it but only 30%. I left the TV on for 4 days to help burn the emitting gas. It helped. Can slightly still smell it, so,I am hoping it will go away. The remote is super nice with a great feel and volume and mute buttons are on the side of remote which is easy to locate. Great TV. You will be pleased with this 55" Sharp TV. A lot of the newer TV's emit a smell. You do your research on models and read reviews on TV's emitting odor and burning smell.

In search of a gaming TV for my room, I discovered this Sharp that seemed "too good to be true". Extensive research over the holidays to find the perfect TV amounted to this find. I needed one with the old AV ports (yellow, red and white cable ports for old game consoles), an audio jack to plug in a speaker that only takes Bluetooth or auxiliary connections, and the most important aspect: minimal or no input lag when playing games. I'm happy to say this TV, while unbelievable at first, ticks all the boxes and so much more!
The picture quality is brilliant, though I've yet to watch any movies to take advantage of the 4K attributes it boasts. New games look great on this TV, though not so much for older consoles, but that's to be expected with AV cords in a new TV. Sound is perfectly fine, but soundbars or external speakers are always superior.
As the TV also comes with Roku, and by extension Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc., this added icing on the cake that is this gorgeous TV!
Input lag is present AT FIRST, but switching the TV to Game Mode mostly eliminates the problem. I think there is still the slightest bit of input lag present, (maybe 20-30 ms or so), but unless you demand absolute instantaneous reactions with the TV, this will suffice for any competitive game on home consoles. If you're playing mostly casual games, this won't be an issue at all, although I cannot vouch for PC gaming on this TV. In general, input lag is pretty much nonexistent as long as the TV is in Game Mode.
The stands that accompany the set are very high quality and surprisingly sturdy! We live in an earthquake-prone part of California so this is definitely reassuring!
Everything about this TV screams perfection for me, and it most likely will for you too! I recommend for those in search of a gaming TV on a tighter budget.

WOW! The best picture I have had. We don't have cable anymore just Netflix, Amazon Prime, Pluto, and misc. other free smart TV apps. We really enjoy seeing the old shows like they were filmed recently (even though they are black and white). The only downside is the TV remote is small and we lost it the first week. Best Buy does not sell the original ROKU remotes and I had to buy a generic remote. I took a couple hours of researching to get it to work. We found the old remote a couple of days later. I guess a second negative would be you can not adjust the sound without the remote.

TV has great picture and nice price. Roku aspect very easy to use.
Only thing not so great is volume, depending on what you’re watching and apps you’re using, you may have to turn it up quite a bit.

This is a very good TV for streaming. HD is great even when viewing even with 720 picture quality. It's great for gaming, too. The biggest drawback is some media even on the highest level can be practically inaudible. This doesn't happen extremely often, but enough to be a nuisance. One extra nice feature is that the Roku app can be downloaded on any android device (not sure about Ios) and you can use that as a remote and use your headphones for private listening if you want to watch without disturbing others. One other thing of note is if you watch broadcast TV that there's no number keys. I don't so it has no effect in my viewing, but I can see that as a hindrance to those who want to switch channels regularly. You might want to get a universal remote if that's the case. It was very reasonably priced at $420 when we purchased which was a very good deal for 55" 4K (UHD) Roku TV. I didn't want a smart TV as they seem to have issues with streaming slowing down or audio not matching the video, but I felt so confident with Roku that this was the only smart TV I was willing to buy. So, overall this was a very good deal and fits our needs almost perfectly.

I could hardly believe how lucky I was to get this terrific TV for under $500. CReports gave it a very good review, especially considering it was In comparison to others three & four times the price. The only major con was that there was fading/distortion upon side angle viewing, which is not an issue for a typical living room seating arrangement of a sofa and a couple of lounge chairs. Coming from a much smaller flatscreen to a 55" was a revelation…it was as if my living room suddenly became a movie theater. The simplicity of the uniformly 1 inch black frame that nearly disappears enhances that effect. It is 4K UHD-not that most of what I watch is in that format & I'm not a gamer but I like having up to date technology. The picture is crisp. The sound quality isn't bad but I could use a little higher volume for some older content, specially some classic Hollywood films. I recently bought an inexpensive sound bar but have not yet installed it & it is definitely not a necessity. I've had this TV for 19 months and it's functioned perfectly. Roku makes it so easy to navigate & I think the set up took less than 10 minutes. You don't need to be very tech savvy to easily navigate this. Once your Roku account is set up, it's super easy to stream a great variety of channels. Prior to owning this TV, I streamed Hulu, Netflix & Crackle via my Xbox360 & had cable for everything else, which I ended up reducing to just a standard package due to the ridiculous expense. Now, I'm able to stream, free or at a very low cost, programming from the UK, Australia & New Zealand and many other interesting channels previously unavailable to me. Roku has its own channel with free content-mostly fairly current movies but also some shows from the 80s & 90s. There's tons of specialty channels including those via which you can customize images on a continuous loop or remain static, for example an image Van Gogh's Starry Night or scenes/videos of nature, etc. Even with the heavy duty bracket, the TV is so streamlined that it almost appears as if a painting is hanging on the wall. I happen to really love the Roku aquarium as my screensaver & sometimes I just put it on to create serenity and visual interest.
The remote is pretty cool in that it has individual buttons for instant access to Netflix, Hulu, Starz, & Sling & again, it's super easy to use-far fewer buttons than a typical cable remote. This particular Sharp-Roku remote does not have the voice command option but it is available on the Roku phone app & that's a really great feature… "Show me Cary Grant" & up pops a list of anything he's in that's currently available; pick one, pay for it with your Roku account (unless it's free on one of your subscribed channels) & it starts playing on your TV. Gotta love it!

I've had several Sharp products and they last a long time so I had to buy this Sharp TV, I've had it for about a year now and it has been working great, no problems what so ever. I like that it includes Roku so it is easy to browse for your favorite shows from your TV, do not need other gadgets. I like that it has an optical outlet for my sound system. I am also enjoying Spotify from the tv and since it is hooked up to my sound system, it sounds great and I do not need my phone to play my playlists. And last but not least, it is of great value. Enjoying it all the way .

I just recently had a 55" LCD die on me after 5 years so I was in the market for a new Living Room TV. This Sharp LED is a good value for the price I paid ($300 on sale). For a 4K, Smart TV it's hard to find a better bargain. Although I've only tested the 4K via YouTube video, the feed does look impressive. In terms of regular HD TV, it does a good job. It's not the best out there, but it was better than my previous model so that's all I care about. I'm happy with my purchase.

Great TV, that packs a fantastic picture and Roku, ease of use. Is it a Video’phile grade TV..?..No...But for most people who use it for streaming and movies, does the job well. Really great prices in all big screen TVs now. So in general, picture quality is great across the board at these price ranges. Reliability and ease of use, should be the factors in picking out big screen TVs under 1000$ so do some research first.

I'm sure you can get better quality picture from a more expensive set, but for the price you can't beat this TV, was easy to set up, interfaces are simple to use, the 4k takes some getting used to especially when viewing older shows that you are used to watching with zero dimension to them. If you are looking for an inexpensive 4K UHD TV you can't beat this model.

This is the 1st 4k TV I've purchased. I didn't want to spend a lot and I feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck with this TV. The picture is perfect. Some of the older dvds I have don't look great on the big screen but that's to be expected. Netflix and Amazon prime HD & 4k look amazing. Also love the included roku! I don't think I could go back to a TV that wan't 'smart'.

This is an excellent TV for the price. I really like Roku, so it’s great not connecting an external device and the most popular apps are all there ( HBO, Showtime, YouTube, Hulu, Netflix....etc). The 4K/ picture is okay but it does not have all the bells and whistles that I have on my LG however, for the price, it can’t be beat. It’s lite to carry and is easy to mount, all the input/output connections are on the side and not the back for easy access. Ideal for a bedroom or family room.

This is my first experience with a 4K TV, and so far it's pretty positive. Nice super-sharp picture and pretty easy set-up. However, it has to be noted that this TV defaults to the dreaded "Soap Opera" mode -- there's nothing more bizarre than putting in a blu-ray of THE MATRIX and having it look like a cheap shot-on-videotape soap opera. It's fairly easy to disable this mode, but still very weird that TV manufacturers think people like this weird mode. Overall, a good solid 4K television.

This television is by far one of the best that I’ve purchased. Easy to set up, intuitive to use. The ability to link to a variety of steaming services would make this TV ideal for cord cutters, or those that stream in addition to cable. The picture is crisp and clean. I would highly recommend this as a main living room or entertaining space TV.

Our tv went out after only about 4 yrs at an inconvenient time, so we looked for as good a quality as we could find for under $500. This one won, and we are thrilled with it as we also decided to go with internet tv and ditch the expensive satellite service. We like that this one is a smart tv with built-in internet tv services. So convenient!

$300 for this TV is a steal. Amazing picture, great color and sound was just fine. Very happy with our purchase. The set up was so easy, we couldn't believe it. Once we connected the TV to our wifi, it was just a matter of answering a few short questions that automatically popped up and we were in business.

This TV is fantastic! I got this to replace a 50" Vizio Smart TV that fell and died. The apps on this Sharp 55" work so much better than the Vizio ones, and the picture is at least 5x as clear. The Vizio was not 4k, but I am still surprised how much more clarity there is on this one. I haven't had an issues with picture quality from different angles (something I had read complaints about), and the network connects much faster than the Vizio (I would have to wait about 20 seconds before I could do anything with it, I guess everything disables until the connection is complete?).
There is only one complaint I have, and that is my universal remote (Logitech Harmony 350) has a Watch TV button in the top left corner that would turn the old TV, along with the surround sound set up I have, on and off. This no longer works that way but I'm ok with that. I like the little remote that comes with this TV, the buttons are very sensitive and it works well without having to point it at an exact spot.

I bought this TV for my dad when the speakers on his old school DLP went bad. It was cheaper than most HD televisions and the color and sound on it are most impressive. I will say however, that I am having 0 luck with programming our direct tv remote to use it. Other than that though, this thing is amazing.
