really like my new TV. No problems so far. There's a small black speck within the screen, but not noticeable unless looking at the tv when a white background is showing.

I love the TV but the Roku stick was a little disappointing in that you pretty much have to pay for everything to watch and it is a little pricy.

They told me it wasn't a great tv. For the price I paid its great. I can't tell a difference between it and the expensive one

    Big TV Awesome Picture

Upgraded from a Sharp 52" LED 3 years old that had no problems of any kind. It was a QUATTRON higher end than this AQUOS. After using this TV for a few days, I like the 65" much better. But too bad Sharp went so cheap on the remote, sound, and just 3 HDMI Ports not to mention no manual or documentation of any kind - weird. The free Roku stick is cool and I may finally ditch cable. But there was no remote for it so that is weird too. Sharp picture quality is the best, and I'm very pleased Best Buy priced match this with A**zon.

    Middle end TV

Replaced my 50" Sharp TV by this one (though the service of Sharp really sucks, they usually won't contact with you at the time they stated so, e.g., they called me the Saturday before last saying to send me an email with resolve letter by last Thursday but now today is the 2nd Thursday and still no email yet although I called and emailed them in the past days). Sharp TV setup is always easy. Good picture and color. Two major problems: 1) USB only support MPEG-2, JPG, and MP3 (no MP4, AVI, etc) This give me a hardship to playback the MP4 and AVI contents 2) the Roku stick WIFI signal strength and control Comparing to the Roku 3 in WIFI mode side by side Roku stick has much slower connection speed (the TV is in the family room downstairs and the WIFI router is in closet upstairs). It sometimes is very slow. If I put a WIFI router next to it it works fine. The TV remote can control the Roku, however, there's an obvious delay (my Roku remote can always control my Roku 3 fast and smoothly)

Large TV with backlight uniformity issues

    Posted .

I picked this TV based on the good picture quality and reviews of the 2013 LE650U series of Sharp TVs. The LE650U TVs are edge-lit, and Sharp claims that this new 2014 LE643U series has"Direct LED" backlighting. In theory, picture quality should better due to better control of light, more uniform brightness, and better black levels. However, the direct backlighting is poorly implemented in this model. There are darker vertical stripes across the screen every 2-4 inches, and not all of them are the same. Instead of "clouding" that typically occurs in the corners of the screen for edge-lit models, the clouding manifests itself in these vertical stripes. It is only visible in large brighter areas, but it became very distracting for me and ended up being a deal breaker so I returned the TV. My wife wasn't as distracted by it, but once we replaced it with a different TV (2014 Vizio M series), she immediately noticed that the new Vizio had a substantially better picture, better black levels, and no light uniformity issues whatsoever. Bottom line, this 65LE643U model is a decent low-end big screen. Colors are good and the size is nice for the price. Good brightness for a bright room. I may have gotten a lemon, but the non-uniformity of the backlight was distracting and a dealbreaker for me. There are other TVs in this price range with a better overall picture.

Great TV for the price, Roku is garbage

The TV is a great value, has a bright and sharp picture, and Best Buy service is great as always. This is where the fun stops. The included Roku stick was apparently defective and after spending 45 minutes on the phone with Roku support, they gave me a case number and asked me to take the stick back the Best Buy for a new one. Best Buy was great and gave me a regular HDMI one with the remote. I thought now everything would be ok, but after spending 2 hours waiting for the update to upload, experiencing lockups on the way, I just found out that it is just as useless as the first stick included with the TV. I have an Apple TV right next to it, so I know it has nothing to do with my WiFi network. Roku is rubbish. Don't waste your money and time with Roku. I gave it away and will continue using my Apple TV that works flawlessly.

Bought this sharp 65" for my living room, great picture, just like always from sharp. comes with a roku steaming stick that turns the tv into a smart tv, the best part about this is i can upgrade the roku stick in the future, instead of stuck with the tv built in smart apps.

    Roku Streaming Stick Issue

    Posted .

Also posted in Amazon reviews: I have a problem with the Roku Stick. Purchased this at our local Best Buy. Went to Best Buy to get the Roku stick swapped out as per Roku customer care's suggestion (waited for 30 minutes to get to talk to a Roku rep). Best Buy Store told me to call Geek Squad to schedule a visit. Geek Squad said I have to go to the store to get a new Roku stick. After one hour with Geek Squad and Best Buy Store rep in a conference call they decided to give me a new Roku stick. The problem is they don't sell the Roku MHL stick anymore. They ended up getting a Roku MHL stick from another Sharp 65 inch TV. Went home and setup Wi-Fi connection. After the Wi-Fi connection it got stuck in the Roku Bouncing animation. I did not notice a Roku software upgrade this time unlike the first stick that came with the TV. I haven't called Sharp yet. They will be next but I am thinking if I need to return the TV to Best Buy and just get another TV.

    Serious Picture Issues

I bought this TV this morning and returned it with in hours. The Best Buy I bought it from did not have one on display, lesson learned. There were all kinds of issues motion blur was terrible regardless of setting, image ghosting, large dimmed vertical bars cover the screen when image transitions from dark to light sceens, terrible color wash out, etc. Very disappointed with my first Sharp TV - but I also understand you get what you pay for.

I just returned the TV. I had trouble finding acceptable, though not great, settings for the picture. I could not find any settings which provided acceptable sound. I don't advise this TV, especially after owning a Samsung, unless one cannot afford another brand.
