I purchased this TV a month ago and had to wait a while for the product to become available. It was professionally installed and looks great. It comes with two remotes and lots of amazing features. I paired it with a Sharp Sound Bar and a Sony Blu-Ray player that up-converts to 4K and the experience was incredible. You will want to download the firmware updates prior to configuring the set or accessories as post firmware, you'll need to reconfigure.

The Best Buy delivery folks unboxed and set up the TV to make sure it worked before they left. Then I tested the picture quality with 1) the trailer from Star Wars from my Apple TV, 2) an episode from Cosmos on Blue-Ray, and 3) an HD channel from my cable provider. The picture was a little dim so I turned off the automatic brightness. That fixed it. The picture quality is now excellent. I'm so glad I got the 80" model. With my 5.1 channel system, it is truly an awesome home theater experience. A few friends came over to see it, and they were all extremely impressed.

This TV, while not THX certified like its little brother, is still an amazing set. A quick run through of a calibration DVD confirmed that the factory shipment was very close to perfect. I don't believe I moved a single setting more than 2 clicks from default. Very impressed with the picture coming from a high end Panasonic 65" Plasma that was purchased in 2012.

We purchased our Sharp Model LC-80UH30U 4K 80" TV on a Monday during the Sharp Week Sale ($3999) and had it delivered and installed on Wednesday morning. After the start-up screens, our first step was to update the firmware/software which took about 45 minutes hooked up to our home network via an Ethernet cable. We used the NETGEAR Powerline AV500 Nano Ethernet Adapter to get our high-speed Ethernet cable to our TV. Right from the start, we could see the difference from our old Sharp 70" 1080p TV. We use DirecTV with HD service and BluRay for our HD movies. Both are significantly improved by playing on the new 3840 x 2160 pixel screen. I'm sure this is due to the quality of the REVELATION 4K Upscaler, SPECTROS Rich Color Display and the AquoDimming features of this model. The picture is great, the best we have ever seen, and it is fairly easy to tweak it to your taste. The 'Google Cast' included with our TV was a separate USB stick, which we stuck into USB1 on our set. It works fine casting pictures and video from my desktop PC. There are more apps and internet options included with this set than we'll ever use, but others probably will consider them important. We used all the same HDMI cables as with the old 1080p setup. We run all sources to our Yamaha YSP-4100 Digital Sound Projector with a single HDMI taking video to the TV. Have no problems with this setup. We have a digital optical cable taking the TV's sound (from antenna or internet) to the DSP. We'll use a new 4K certified HDMI cable direct to the TV when (and if) we get one of the new Ultra HD BluRay players coming out next year. On the con side, we found that turning on the Aquomotion960 refresh rate had a profound negative effect on the picture's color and contrast which cannot be entirely corrected for. However, we also found that there was very little motion blur (if any) on the TV's 120Hi setting which provided a perfect picture. Football on ESPN was virtually flawless. We streamed some 4k content from Netflix and it was great. Very detailed, very colorful. But frankly, the end quality of the DirecTV HD channels are just as good as the pro 4K files from Netflix on this TV. We have also tried it out with our Nintendo WiiU. The images there almost looked 3D they were so sharp. Overall, we are very happy with this set and look forward to putting it to plenty of good use.

DO NOT BUY A SHARP TV

We purchased a Sharp Aquos 70" for $2,400. We had it for 14 months when the panel went bad causing a red line down the center of screen. We were told by Sharp that since we were four months out of warranty that all they could do was sell us a refer bushed one for an additional $400. Now we are $2900.00 into this tv. The referbished arrived and the delivery guys plugged it in but it was defective as well. The tv techs and delivery personnel all said Sharp is one of the worst on the market. Sharp will only send out another refurbished or leave me with a 70" paperweight. You have been forewarned people.
