    Another Aardman Masterpiece

Since the introduction of Wallace and Gromit, a cooky pair of claymation characters from Aardman Entertainment, we can't help but enjoy the wild and wacky adventures they've put out over the years. From going to the moon to see if it's made out of cheese to stopping a penguin from stealing a precious diamond, they gave us plenty. But, one particular adventure, A Close Shave, brought about a little character named Shaun the Sheep. And it was after he helped Wallace and Gromit expose a conspiracy to turn sheep into dog food that got him his own show proper, and moved him from Wallace's messy lab to the comforts of a farm he can call his own. Well, for the most part. Now, Shaun is back for another and wild adventure that puts him and all the sheep straight into the middle of the city as they're trying to find their farmer, whom they accidentally made amnesiac and landed him in the middle of the city in the first place, but the city is no place for a flock of sheep, especially considering one of them is a curious little baby, one's a concerned mother, and a third devours everything they can eat. Surely Aardman's claymation films still have the same look and feeling as the old Wallace and Gromit adventures of old, because it still feels magical to watch it unfold. I didn't spot those two make a cameo while watching the film, but regardless, both characters weren't needed, as Shaun and his flock, along with the farmer's dog Blitzer, carry the story all by themselves, not to mention that crazy farmer. I will warn that there isn't much dialogue, namely because its mostly focusing on the animals and not the people. Think of it as like the old LEGO games where the characters mimed out everything with grunts, groans, and movements. But that makes it quite funny, because the talking animals gig only works for Disney, not Aardman. If anything, Gromit has taught us that it's better to be silent and be funny than to talk and be annoying. So, if you want a wool full of fun, I'd pick up a Shaun the Sheep Movie today. You'll be in the barnyard for certain.

This is a great title for anyone with children. It is done in with stop-motion clay animation (claymation) which is something we rarely see anymore. It is just like the Shaun the Sheep series, so there is no actual dialog between characters. The story is told entirely through expressions, grunts of human characters, and the sounds of the sheep and other animal characters. While that might sound horrible it really isn't asthis does not detract from the movie at all. It is charming, funny, full of very cute and likable characters, and a wonderful choice for children of any age.

I have been an Aardman animation fan for many years beginning with Wallace and Gromit, so this was an easy purchase for me. The stop motion animation style is delightful and detailed, with the only drawback in my opinion is the lack of dialogue. At the beginning of the film it was hard to get used to no actual language other than the occasional grunt or mumble, but the pacing of the movie kept it pretty engaging. Even though parents can still appreciate the film for the detail and scenery of the tiny world, I would still recommend this movie for younger audiences.

    Prefect Children's Movie

This movie is great for the children. There's no dialog, so you can play it for the family and get some other work done. There's no worry that the dialog cannot be heard by the viewers or that you'll be drowned out by movie dialog. The very little one's will also be able to enjoy the movie because the story is all visual. No complex discussions. Great for car rides too. The driver is free to talk without disturbing the film dialog.

Shaun the Sheep is behind the same studio that created Wallace and Gromit. You can definitely feel Wallace and Gromit as your watching the movie, but Shaun has its now unique form to present. Throughout the movie not a single word is said, but the way how the character move the movie is quite excellent. Their body language and emotional disposition really tells everything. The animation is spot on and smooth, the colors are bright and attractive. It's totally a must watch.

If you are reading this review, I'm thinking your either a parent or a man-child. Either way, it appears to be a hit with the young minded. Im sure when I was my children's age, i would have appreciated this as well. On second thought, I should have recruited my wife to write this because she was chomping at the bit for my kids to watch it. She evidently likes Shaun the Sheep as well. Now that I have wrote this disregard my comments in the first sentence. Enjoy.

This latest Aardman effort proves again why Shaun The Sheep (& Co.) are so successful. The care and detail put into the "characters", and the "perfection" of their stop-motion animation work, prove that Aardman are The Best at what they do! Plus, the FACIAL/BODY EXPRESSIONS of the characters "tell the story" without the need for any dialogue. I look forward to seeing the next Shaun the Sheep feature, either as a TV episode or another Theatrical Movie Release.

My two kids 4 and 6 love the movie. They had seen it before and wanted to watch it again, and again and again. The digital copy compatibility is limited to a laptop. This version was limited to download from Ultraviolet. I've had others that let me download a copy of iTunes and others that allow download from Amazon Prime. So I had to register for another account to download it.

Definitely a fine offering from Aardvark Animation, and I quite enjoyed it. I recognize, though, that not everyone will enjoy a work with such a definitely British flavour (otherwise I'd give 5 stars), but my wife and I certainly do and did. Stop-motion animation still amazes me, and the folk at Aardvark do a splendid job of it. Brilliant! Perfect!

I purchased this movie for my parents as a gift. The movie is top notch and we all love it, but my parents and I went back to the store several times since we kept seeing audio sync issues. The sound was not matching up to the video on any of the copies we tried. Very disappointing experience, especially for a gift.

Shaun The Sheep is a stop motion character done by the people that did Wallace and Gromit. Shaun is funny but not as funny as W&G. Still it amazes me how much time people put in to entertain others. I think young people will enjoy this more than adults (Except for the adults that are children inside).

We love Wallace & Grommit movies, we love the series of Shaun the Sheep - it has made my 3 & 4 year old curl over with laughter many many times over, and this movie is more of the same. The claymation is a lovely art form to expose your kids to instead 3D digital Hi-Res all the time.

I purchased this for my fiancé who is a long time fan of the show. I was skeptical going into watching this that it would be enjoyable. To my surprise I found myself chuckling at some of the jokes. The movie is just the right length to hold your interest.

For a movie with no words, it is fantastic. Adults can sit back and enjoy this clay mation world and kids don't have to overthink it or worry about not understanding the dialogue and they get the meaning of the story which is touching and very humorous.

There's some really inventive, charming stuff in here but once the main plot kicks in you're like "This is what they're going with?" Not anywhere near Aardman's best despite their lofty ambitions to exclude dialogue altogether.

This is a good story using the stop motion technique. Well done and is kid friendly. No dialog to get things confusing for anybody. A good moral movie about friendship, responsibility, and not giving up to reach a goal.

This is my first Shaun the sheep movie, but not my last. I wish I could enjoy this on TV. I know that animals can not talk, but isn't that the idea for animation. At least the humans should have had spoken dialogue.
