This was an excellent special if you are a fan of the Sherlock series. It is set in the times when the original stories from the book was set. It is fun to see and has a few surprises related to the series in it. It looked like the Bluray and DVD have the same bonus features on them so if you are looking to save money, buy the DVD instead.

This team of actors has given us the best modern Sherlock Holmes ever. I wish this had been more than just the one episode but I guess it was just a promise to the fans that the rest of the season is coming. Can't recommend this series any higher, I own the entire collection and bring it out for Binge watching at least once a year.

I like the Sherlock series as it is set in modern day and makes it very interesting. However this entry into the series is a good addition as it brings the story back to the original time period and is a good film to fill in the gap between the seasons. I'm not disappointed. I think you will enjoy if you are a fan of the series.

This PBS series just gets better and better with every new episode. Benedict Cumberpatch and Martin Freeman are the classic duo and they are perfect fits to the characters. This one has a twist that I guarantee you will not see coming. If you love the Sherlock Holmes genre, pic this one up, you will not be disappointed...

I've been a huge fan of Sherlock from the beginning and it definitely continues with The Abominable Bride. It was nice of them to give us something in the gap between "seasons" and it's a great stand-alone story. Absolutely loved it and I continue to recommend Sherlock to everyone.

I am huge fan of this version of Sherlock Holmes, it is well written, cast and produced with the care of almost all British fare. The stories can be dry when ready but the interplay between Sherlock and Watson is excellent. Especially like the way it uses time and space to it's advantage. I just loved it!!.

Sherlock holmes cd is very entertaining I would recommend it to anyone who likes Sherlock Holmes stories or tv series. I have the other Holmes movies as well and enjoyed them too. The Pbs series is very well done, written and acted. For an entertaining time view all of the PBS Series.

I was unable to watch this episode live when it aired on PBS earlier this year. I was glad to see that they released this episode on DVD. This was a very different kind of episode, but the pieces started coming together at the end. I actually enjoyed this Christmas special, but I'm still waiting for season 4!

I really liked this stand alone volume because it had no discernible tie to anything by Conan Doyle. The period costuming and sets were really well done up and the twists were smooth and sure. If you like intelligent TV, this is a great way to occupy an hour and a half.

MY wife and I saw this in theaters and I really enjoyed that it took place in the Victorian era. It's what I expected, but surprised her because the show takes place in contemporary times. Interestingly, this was my first foray into the show so I was a bit lost when it jumped forward into time. Nonetheless, I was able to have her explain it briefly and I still enjoyed the film. It was fun.

This was another great episode of Sherlock. The episode was really well written, and kept you on your toes. The only downside is that after watching it, you realize that Season 3 is not yet available and that you'll probably have to wait another 6-8 months for another episode of Sherlock.

This is an excellent addition to the Sherlock library and a must-watch for fans of the show. The only wrinkle that marred the experience for me was eventually ironed out, though it isn't until a good hour in that you get an explanation. That said, still an amazing piece of entertainment.

The Sherlock series has been a great show to watch, this merges the end of season 3 and begins a teaser for season 4. Benedict Cummberbatch is excellent and pairs well with Martin Freeman. It makes me wish that season 4 was out now in order to watch the great chemistry they have.

This was so well done, the modern day Sherlock and Watson were transported back to the days of the "original"! Was so well done, I love and respect all of the actors and directors and the creative team behind it!!! LOVE and own all of the Sherlock series, keep up the great work

This episode is a mix of modern-era BBC Sherlock & an odd back-in-time to the late Victorian era Sherlock. Both plots switch back & forth & are, perhaps, connected. The writers tried for very clever & artsy & missed by a mile. It's the only new Sherlock we'll get until 2017, so I bought it anyway. The DVDs were fine physically, the set small but not too expensive on sale.

This is a great hybrid episode between the finale of season 3 and the start of season 4. I do not recommend watching this until you have seen all of season 3. This is an amazing story with fantastic editing, costumes, etc. Only the best from BBC and Sherlock.

Yet another excellent entry in the Sherlock series! Don't be fooled by the fact that this one is set in 1895; it most certainly relevant to the television show. With excellent acting and set pieces and a deeply layered story, this is another win for BBC!

But it's only a 2 hour movie? I guess so... But it was a nice one. Won't give the plot away, but if you enjoy the other Sherlock episodes, this movie won't disappoint. Just wishing there were more!

Within minutes of starting my first episode of this iteration of Sherlock, I was hooked, and it was no different for this special. Spanning the small gap between seasons 3 and 4 this is an hors d'oeuvres that leaves you hungry for the season that follows.
