A ridiculous episode

This, Alternate Universe-ish, special episode of Sherlock is a bit of a trip. Like much of the recent season of the show, the story is convoluted, almost excessively self-indulgent, but it is still entertaining and fitting for the rest of the series nonetheless. Despite being secluded as a standalone release and not part of either of the seasons of the show proper that surrounded it, the special has a few brief moments of plot and character development that contribute to the overarching narrative of the show, making this feel a bit more important than it's marketing would have had you believe. The supplemental feature selection is okay, entertaining, and the audio video quality is good, consistent with the rest of the series releases.

This is one of those convoluted stories that Steven Moffat loves. It's not my favourite Sherlock, and technically you can skip it without missing anything. Still it's fun to see Cumberbatch and Freeman dressed up as the classical Victorian style Holmes and Watson.

My wife and I are totally obsessed with the Sherlock installments, but it's a little frustrating paying the same price for one episode as we do for three. Yes, they are feature length each, but still, somehow paying over $20 for one episode of any show rubs me the wrong way.

Fun standalone episode. I wish the price was a little lower since it is only one episode, but I love Sherlock so much that I bought it anyway...

This is another great addition to the Sherlock series! It felt unique and held my interest as much as the other parts of the series. Best Buy also had the best price for bluray version of this.

First off, make sure you have seen all the other episodes ahead of time. Otherwise, a lot of the episode won't make sense. It's full of action and mystery, just like the television program.

While awaiting the next season of the show, this is a terrific additional treat for the best show on TV! Video quality is stellar and packing is really nice in a slipcover. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed the special, but- It is worth seeing it does advance cannon, but it subtly change Sherlock. I just hope they stick to being cool for creativity not trends. Swearing and nudity are cheap ratings, they are not what made this series! I hope it doesn't continue .

This had a lot of twists and turns - even for a Sherlock series show. I love the masterful cinematography and cleaver plot devices. I am glad I bought this instead of just renting.

I have always enjoyed reading or watching the adventures of Sherlock Holmes. But this series is one of the best ever. Enjoy these movies, and then try out some of the old one too.

What is not to like about this movie. We saw it on the big screen as a special showing. I like the fact that BBC will work around the lead actors schedule to continue making the shows.

it travelled in and out of time, sort of confusing, maybe i'm just a dim bulb, didn't ultimately reveal moriarty's game. it was okay, being a feminist & all, & it's always great to holmes and Watson, but... not my favorite episode, loved season 3.

After enjoying the modernized take on the classic Doyle characters I was incredibly excited to see their take on the traditional Holmesian trapping and I was not disappointed!

Love this series; well written and quick paced with lots of turns and twists. Plus nothing is better than watching Benedict and Martin go back and forth at each other! :-)

This episode is supposed to take place after S3 of BBC's Sherlock. Great story/mystery while viewers waited for S4. The acting is still great. Looking forward to S4.

This is an episode which bridges between seasons 3 and 4 and is the only one to portray Sherlock and Holmes in the original time period of Conan Doyle's stories.
