These are among my favorites so far.while they are nearer to my inner ear that the over ear one piece aftershokz I find them comfortable and they even seem more secure than the separate over ears. The sound quality is amazing and they actually even reduce exterior noise quite well.

This product was purchased for hands free telephone calls and for listening to music. Music functions are suitable. Telephone call quality is incredibly poor. I have updated firmware, turned microphone noise cancelling on and off, and multiple call recipients continue to demand that I disconnect the earbuds. I have had Jabra in the past, and they are head and shoulders above these in all aspects of quality. It is too bad that Jabra has left this market.

The best set of open-ear buds I have ever had the privilege of listening to. The Opendots One have a unique manner of fitting around the backside of the ear, with the battery side of the bud resting behind the ear and the sound transmitter resting lightly in the ear canal. My initial thoughts were that there would be a lack of bass due to the style, and that volume would suffer. But the moment I put the Opendots in my ear, I was impressed. I’m not one for hyperbole, but these absolutely blew me away with the amount of volume, bass, and midrange clarity that they had. But I’m getting ahead of myself. After unboxing the Opendots Ones, I held the little button on the back of the case as instructed in the manual and synced them via Bluetooth to my phone. Next, I downloaded the Shokz app and performed a firmware update. Then it was on to listening. The Shokz app allows for customizing the different finger pinch or tapping motions that can be done on the Ones to advance tracks, play/pause, or change volume. It also allows the user to select from different EQs and enable Dolby Audio. I listened to a couple dozen songs with Dolby Audio on and off, and settle on it being off. It seemed to make the mix sound more muffled. After cycling through the different EQs, I settled on ‘Bass Mode’. The app identifies bass mode as best for rock and electronic, and provided a nice bass boost and treble lift. All of my further testing was done with Bass Mode enabled and Dolby Audio off. Whether it was listening to Tool’s 46 and 2, Loreena Mckennit’s Marco Polo, or Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain, the Opendots Ones sounded fantastic. Plenty of volume. Plenty of bass. The growl of the bass in Limp Bizkit’s cover of Faith got me nodding my head. I don’t think I had ever heard it like that! The midrange in particular shines on the Opendots Ones. If I had to nitpick anything about the sound, it would be the lack of really, deep bass and the tendency for the Ones to get a little harsh on the top end when listening to metal or mixes with a lot of musical information in them. But that is being really picky, and I fully enjoyed my listening session. The Dots are extremely comfortable to wear. They don’t sit in the ear canal, so they don’t fatigue it. They grip the ear tightly enough to stay in place, but loose enough to not hurt. Chewing food did not move the Dots. Exercising did not move the Dots. Talking did not move the Dots. I’m sure you get the point. They stayed in place and were super comfortable, no matter the activity. One thing I noticed, is due to their design, when you have the volume up a decent level, the Dots are heard by everyone near by. I did some testing with my wife, and when I had the volume up 3/4 of the way, rocking some System of a Down, she could hear the music in the next room. It was like I was listening to my regular audio system quietly, but she could hear it. So, you’re not going to be able to sit in a library or on a crowded bus jamming loudly without the people around you hearing these. There is a ‘Private’ mode in the app that can be selected and it automatically lowers the EQ and volume down to a level that cannot be heard outside of the listener’s ears. And it did work, but it was a little quiet for me. The only thing I can think of to keep in mind if you purchase these for use at a gym or classroom. For me, this is an easy 5 out of 5 star review. The Dots sound great, they get loud, they are powerful, they are comfortable, the battery life is impressive, and they stay put. I happily recommend them.

I have tried a number of wireless earbuds over the years, but the New Shokz OpenDots ONE really stands out and in the best way possible. I was looking for something super light and open-ear for working, commuting, walking my dog, etc., and I didn’t want to be completely cut off from the world like with ANC earbuds. These tick all the right boxes, If your looking for something that’s ultra-comfortable, sounds great, and keeps you aware of your surroundings, these are an awesome option. These are legit the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever worn you can barely feel them, The ear-cuff design is genius. You just clip it on, and it stays put. No pressure inside your ear, no weird suction feeling, no soreness after hours of use. I’ve worn them through full workdays and even during light workouts zero discomfort, Also they play really nicely with glasses and hats, which is a huge plus, great for people like me who don’t like the feeling of traditional in-ear buds. Okay, I’ll be real I wasn’t expecting them to sound this good. Open-ear stuff usually sacrifices sound quality for comfort and awareness, but these actually slap. The bass is surprisingly deep thanks to something they call Bassphere and OpenBass 2.0 (marketing jargon, sure, but it works). Vocals and highs come through clean. I’m no audiophile, but I’ve been legit impressed with how full the sound feels. Also no sound leakage! I’ve had people standing right next to me and they couldn’t hear what I was listening to. - Ear detection is on point—no worrying about left/right sides, just clip and go. - Pairs to two devices at once. I switch between my laptop and phone seamlessly. - Controls are simple: double-tap or pinch to play/pause, take calls, etc. - 4 EQ presets + custom mode. I personally use the Bass one most. - Dolby Audio support is a nice bonus for immersive stuff like live recordings or concert videos. - Crystal clear AI noise cancellation actually works no complaints from people on the other end, even when I’m walking outside. Mic placement is on point. What Amazed me is that the Battery Life is on par with manufacturer's claim that 10 hours on a single charge with 40 hours total using the case and a quick 10-minute charge gives you around 2 hours of playback Plus the case supports wireless charging too. IP54 rating means they’re Sweat & Splash Resistant so you use them at gym without any issues. The only one con about this buds is these are Not for people looking for total sound isolation. These are meant to keep you connected to your environment. If you’re tired of earbuds that hurt, fall out, or make you feel isolated, OpenDots ONE is seriously worth checking out. The sound-to-size ratio is wild, and they’ve nailed the comfort and convenience. Honestly feels like the future of casual listening, and If you’re someone who prioritizes comfort, awareness, and great sound in a lightweight package, the Shokz OpenDots ONE are 100% worth it. They’ve become my go to earbuds for daily life whether I’m working, walking, or just relaxing at home.

I chose these earbuds because I really like the style of them. However the sound quality is not that great. I have complaints of everyone that I talk on the phone with that they can barely hear me. I've played with all the settings but these earrbuds are not the best for me.

I really enjoy wearing open earbuds because they never make my ears itch or get uncomfortable after using for hours. I own 3 other Shokz open style earbuds and they are wonderful but have the wraps that go around top of your ears. These were packaged nicely along with paperwork inside and a small C-charging cable. They are a clip-on design and I wasn't sure how I'd like them of if they would fit me properly but to my delight they did. I then put them back in the case and charged fully which took a couple hours. They also can be charged wirelessly if you own that style device. They have Dolby Audio and a 2 year warranty. I downloaded the information for them on my iPhone and then paired them up with the Shokz app. There are various touch control functions ~ Single-Finger Tap, Double Pinch (which I like the best) and Long Press. The buds can also be used independently of each other which I find nice for phone conversations. There is a 5 band EQ equalizer if you prefer to customize the sound settings to your liking or there are other preset sound options built in the app you can choose. Another feature is you can pair two devices to seamlessly switch between the earbuds with MultiPoint Pairing. I found these to fit my ears just fine and very comfortable to wear. I spoke on my iPhone using them for a long period, listened to various genres of music and everything I tried was a spot on and awesome experience. The design is unique and I really found enjoyment in wearing. Battery life is great and so far I have no complaints. I like these just as much as my other open ear Shokz. I actually forget they're on my ears! I can definitely recommend their purchase. High quality, perfect adjustable sounds and easy to wear. I really love my OpenDots!

I've been testing the Shokz Opendots One for the last week. As a fan of open earbuds, I find that the Opendots feature all the qualities that make this style of earbud great. Overall, they are a pocketable, comfortable-to-wear, and well-built set of open earbuds that sport great sound quality, decent volume, and excellent Bluetooth connectivity. The first thing I like about the OpenDots is the well-designed case. The round, pebble styling makes it comfortable to carry in my pocket. The hinge feels sturdy and closes with a reassuring snap. It also features USB-C and wireless charging options. Also, inside the case are magnets that ensure proper placement and charging of the earbuds. As for the earbuds themselves, pairing with my phone is extremely fast and effortless, and the Bluetooth connection remained strong and stutter-free. I liked how the earbuds gently slid onto the cartilage of my ears, directing sound perfectly into my ear canal. Their lightweight design and rubber arch make them comfortable to wear while still maintaining a secure fit. The sound quality is excellent, with clear and natural vocals, mids, and highs, and a decent level of bass. When used for phone calls they perform well. The persons voice on the distant end was clear and they had no problems clearly hearing me. The shokz App is intuitive. It has options for turning on Dolby, and multipoint pairing. As well as, modifying tap settings and changing sound presets. With that said, the Opendots are my favorite open earbuds. I would absolutely recommend them.

Hi there- Shokz here! We're sorry to hear this has been your experience. To adjust Shokz OpenDots ONE for comfort, pinch the JointArc to place the speaker on your inner ear ridge (not in the canal) and the battery behind your ear, angling the arc slightly downward (0-30°) for a natural, secure fit without excessive pressure. Ensure the speaker rests just in front of your ear opening for optimal sound and comfort, avoiding the ear canal. If you find these are not a good fit for you, we kindly ask that you reach out to BestBuy Customer Service directly to learn of their return policy. Thank you! AfterShokzCHT

This is my first set of open ear headphones and they performed much better than anticipated. I find myself reaching for these Shokz Open Dot Ones almost as much as my other in-ear headphones. The design is a bit odd but very comfortable. They are so light and non-intrusive that I had them in for 6 hours the first time I used them and forgot I was wearing them on multiple occasions. The fit is secure, even when moving around and they stay secure even when I tried my hardest to dislodge them. To be clear, there aren't many headphones I've used where I could say this. These would be great for runners or even at the gym for high intensity workouts. The tap controls work great for adjusting the volume, play/pause, and even answering calls. Unfortunately, the tap and pinch controls are locked to play/pause and answer/end a call. You are able to modify the long press function and assign controls for volume, voice assistant, no function, or next/previous track. The major issue is you can only customize long press with ONE function. As of right now, there doesn't seem to be a way to have volume control and previous/next track active at the same time. This is a massive downside for me because those are the two functions I used the most but I can't assign either to the double tap or two-finger pinch actions. I think this was overlooked and Shokz should explore adding full customization to the available actions. This was my core reasoning for only giving these 4 stars. The only other issue I could see is the lid for the charing case is incredibly flimsy. I'm not having issues now but after using the case over the last week, I could see the lid failing at some point. All things considered, I really am enjoying the open ear style while still getting the same audio quality I'm used to with my other in-ear headphones.

It’s rare that I find earbuds/headphones as unique as the Shokz OpenDot One earbuds. I’ve tried other “open” earbuds before, but never had I found one so comfortable! I love the way they gently pinch the ear, stay in place, and never irritate the ear canal like other earbuds can sometimes do. The earbuds feature a truly unique design that immediately catches the eye. Everything appears to be made with high quality materials. I find them to be not only durable but also insanely comfortable for long listening sessions. The ergonomic design has a secure fit, making them perfect for extended use without any discomfort. I can’t say that for most earbuds, especially ones with such unique style! The sound quality of the Shokz OpenDot One earbuds is fantastic. The audio is clear, crisp, and balanced. Listening to music, podcasts, YouTube, or even making calls, results in an immersive experience straight out of the box. Things get even better once Dolby Audio is enabled in the app (more on that later). The bass is punchy without being overwhelming, and the mids and highs are well-defined. For me, a required feature is the ability to connect to two devices simultaneously. This is a game-changer for users who need to switch between devices seamlessly. However, it's important to note that this feature requires the use of the Shokz companion software to enable it. The software is user-friendly and enhances the overall functionality of the earbuds. The Shokz OpenDot One earbuds are a fantastic choice for anyone looking for high-quality, comfortable, and feature-rich earbuds. Their unique design and ability to connect to multiple devices make them a versatile option for various listening needs.

These fit well, stay in place, and sound great! That's the synopsis in short. In more detail, they fit several situations where my standard earbuds fail. I listen to a lot of podcasts/Youtube videos around the house. Usually, it's with one earbud in in case I need to listen to wife, kids, etc. and then it's necessary to pause. These allow me to multitask with no issue. I can hear it all with full sound on voice and music. They also pass the boxing test. I wore these while hitting the heavy bag, and typically, at some point, I'm prone to lose a bud, and need to take off a glove to reinsert only to do it again. I had these in position while going full-out, and they didn't move. That alone is a major win. Another point of excellence is the comfort. After the initial adjustment of "something on your ear," I can comfortably wear these around for hours. I can keep these on when not in use and forget about them until I'm reminded by an alert. I can't comment in depth on battery as I have yet to hit a recharge prompt during my daily usage. With the wireless charging case, I use them and drop them on the charger each night and have been satisfied. For the sound quality, I'm impressed. Being an open ear model, I'm not looking to directly compare them with in-ear sound as there will be trade-offs, but for the sound I'm getting from the source material I Iisten to, it is thoroughly enjoyable. Music, podcasts, movies, whatever, no complaints of hearing details or hearing the world around me. They serve a distinct purpose in my family of headphones, and they do excellent at it!

Shokz OpenDots - A Good Buy

These are really good open earbuds. I have owned them for about 3 weeks now and here are my thoughts. Pros: -The price -Very comfortable to wear for long periods of time -Sound quality -Long battery life -Wireless charging case -Multi point pairing -Customizable sound settings Cons: -Finicky touch controls -Limited customization for touch controls I enjoy using these earbuds for extended listening sessions. They are comfortable on my ear and most times, I do not even realize that they are there. I have worn them for 8 hours straight and I did not experience any ear fatigue or pain. When my office environment is nosier than usual, I do increase the volume slightly to drown out the noise. Since these are open earbuds, I am not surprised by this. Within the app, you have the ability to change your sound settings. There are four preset settings or you can customize your own. You can turn on/off the touch controls. However, for the main touch controls, which is a single touch to the band or a single touch to the barrel, these cannot be customized. They can only be turned on/off. A long press on the top and bottom of the barrel is the only touch control that can be customized. Hopefully, with a future software update, Shokz can remedy this issue. I am not a big fan of touch controls and these are finicky at times. The limited customization of the touch controls is not ideal. Hopefully with future generations, they will have one physical button. Overall, these are really good open earbuds. They are comfortable, sound good, long lasting and stay on my ear. The multi-point connection allows seamlessly switching between two devices. The fact that I can tune the sound to how I want to hear it is nice and I love that I can pop the case on my wireless charger. These have been a joy to use.

Good open ear Earbuds with a few quirks

In an effort to get more healthy, I've taken up walking a few times a day. Since I started that, I've been in search of a good set of open ear buds to use on my walks. I want open ear because I want to be able to hear the world around me while for safety reasons while listening to music. The few times I tried walking with in ear buds, they blocked out too much of the world to where I couldn't hear bikes coming up behind me or cars approaching. It only took a few close calls to ditch the in-ear buds. I tried a few of the more popular open ear buds without finding one that both fit nice and allowed me to hear the world around me. I tried a pair of AR glasses with speakers and wasn't happy with them either. Bone conduction systems had terrible sound. I was thrilled to learn that Shokz had released the OpenDots headsets, so I rushed to try them out. I've used the Open Dots for two weeks now, walking a few miles every day. I can say with confidence that the sound is terrific, the battery lasts a long time, and they are sufficiently open ear that I can hear activity around me so I stay out of trouble. The best aspect has to be the sound. The stereo sound is terrific. The music sounds rich with smooth sound and sufficient base (something the bone conduction couldn't match). And the music is isolated so that only the listener can hear it (unlike the AR glasses). Shokz calls it DirectPitch, their system for preventing sound bleed outside the immediate listener. I'm not sure how revolutionary DirectPitch is, but it works. In a quiet room, with the volume up pretty high, nobody sharing the room with me could hear it. Battery life is also really impressive for buds this size. Where other products advertise 4-5 hours and maybe get 3, Shokz advertised 10 hours of performance before needing to recharge in the case. I ran with them all day a few times a week, so I don't know about 10 hours, but I did get at least 8 out of them before ending my day. I used them for teleconference meetings as well. They sounded great and the microphones worked wonderfully. The person on the other side of the call had no complaints about the sound. The quirks I mentioned in the title? There are a few. While I wouldn't call them uncomfortable to wear, they are awkward. the speaker goes in the inside of the ear and the larger barrel half goes on the outside of the ear clipping the buds into place. This works as they don't feel like they would ever fall off, but it's hard to find a comfortable position for them. Too low and it gets uncomfortable. Too high and they slide down when you walk. What makes it mroe awkward is that the touch controls are on the larger barrel AND the stalks connecting the barrel to the earpoiece. This means when you try to adjust them to find a comfortable position, your music stops/starts over and over because there is no place to grab them to adjust that doesn't set off the touch controls. It's annoying as heck with music. If you're on a call, you inevitable drop the call. I wish they had put the touch controls either on the barrels or the stalks, not both. You can use the touch controls for pay/pause, answering calls, and volume control. You can adjust the touch controls in the app and I just turned the stalk controls off. The Shockz app itself is fine. UIt gives you battery level, EQ options, and touch control personalization. I only used the app once when I set things up then forgot about it completely. Do I recommend the OpenDots? Yes. They have great sound while not isolating you from your environment. Battery life is terrific and calls on them are clear. The touch controls are finicky and the fit is awkward though, so your mileage may vary. They do the job for the task I needed them for, so I'm happy with them.

These things are amazing! I bought them to see how they would compare to my OpenRun Pro 2 and they blow them out of the water. They are light and you can’t tell you have them on. The sound is truly incredible for not being earbuds. I let my wife try them and she ended up getting a set for her. The battery lasts 10 hours as advertised. Will definitely recommend them for anyone looking for open ear headphones. I wanted to compare them to the Bose but they don’t have a display set so I went with these for less than half the price (when on sale) and couldn’t be happier.
