This game is great. Combines everything I love about the old NES/SNES sidescrollers with the fluid mechanics of new gen systems. The game is difficult but fair. The upgrades you can add to your character are a nice touch and create a varied gameplay experience.

I've had my eyes on this game for a while but on PC. Once I heard that Wii u was getting an exclusive co-op mode I had to have it. I love the amiibo also so it was a win win. Fun game so far especially with a friend.

This is a action solid platformer, mixing everything that was great about classic video games. Reminds me of Super Mario Brothers and Megaman from the NES days, but still feels fresh. Amazing music as well

Shovel Knight is a game that evokes the feelings of an old NES game from the art style to the music to the difficulty. It's a challenging platformer with a great game mechanic with the shovel.

Such a wonderful game. I got the Wii U version so I could utilize my Shovel Knight Amiibo or else I would've gotten this on PS4. Nonetheless, such an amazing game no matter which platform!

Very reminiscent of classic platform games: some punishing difficulty, chip tune soundtrack that will have you humming along, and 8-bit styled graphics.

This game has really great mechanics. This game is great at distilling what was fun in the early 8 and 16 bit era games and enhancing them while getting rid of some of the issues caused by the limited hardware at the time. I really recommend this game if you liked early 2D platforming games. I even ended up buying this twice (on 3DS digitally as well) since I wanted it portable. What really makes this great is the two player aspect you can do with the Amiibo. Yeah it's more DLC behind a plastic figure, but the developers have added enough to make it worthwhile.

I picked up Shovel Knight on the 3DS and had a lot of fun with it. when i heard the Wii U version has co-op with the amiibo... I knew i had to have it.

Shovel Knight is such a fun game and I love finally getting to own a physical copy for my Wii U.

Great 8/16 bit game published in the modern era. Would highly recommend. Great platformer.

If you are a fan of old school NES games such as mega man or ducktales, pick up this gem. An absolute classic. Highly recommended.

This game is great for those who enjoyed classic NES sidescrollers like Megaman, Mario Bros, Ducktales, etc. It has a great classic/retro feel to it with awesome '8-bit' style graphics. Definitely recommend this game.

Shovel Knight - Nintendo Wii U Great game, classic platformer, revised for today! Get this game, you will love it!

This game is masterful throwback to the age of retro games. But it takes it to a whole other level! Beautiful 2D graphics combined with awesome music and fun gameplay make this game a masterpiece. I would also recommend buying the amiibo to experience all of what the Wii U version has to offer.

A Nice side scrolling platformer with a great deal of difficultly while still being quite fun to play

it really takes me back to my childhood days. the game also has great challenge to hardcore gamer
