The interface is basically lifted from Civ 5, but the new systems and additions make it worth playing.

I have a disease that messes with my mind and this and previous games have helped me switch my mind to dual thinking..There are not to many PC games being made and so I hope this lasts awhile..I am not coordinated enough to use gaming controllers and glad the mouse is still useful for me.

Of course, this is very similar to previous editions. It still provides endless hours of game play and the new features are fun to tweak. Because of all of the minor changes each game is unique so you never have to relive the same game over. If you were a Civ fan to begin with you will enjoy this game. If you're new to the genre you'll be delighted at the graphics, the soundtrack, and the endless hours of play... Enjoy.

Sid Meier has been making the Civilization series for years now and each has been excellent. Sure you can debate which is better but overall the quality has been consistently excellent. From the little time I've had to enjoy this game I can say it both retains the aspects you love about Civ and adds enough elements that it is not simply Civ5 space mod. Highly recommended!

This new Civ game is amazing, full with new techs, policies and units that will add many hours of game play exploring. The only downside I experienced was how the mechanics did not change much only an abundance of content which is great but many say it feels more like a mod than a new game.

This game maintains the 'one more turn' ethos of the Civilization series.
The tech web greatly expands variation in replayability.
The wonders on the tech web could be better highlighted.

I found that the game took a full play through to get the hang of it and my second attempt was a lot more fun as I understood how to best build on the researched technologies and obtain the victories. All in all, it's proving to be a fun game, if a bit tedious at times.

This game is pretty fun. If you've played other Civilization games though, know that this one has a much slower pace. They've added a lot more victory types so game play stays interesting for longer than previous versions.

This is a very good game! In many ways similar to CIV 5 but also with many differences that makes it refreshing on its own. Purchased the physical version but it activates through STEAM, so you don't have to use the disc as you play. Purchase experience was excellent!

I've enjoyed all the Sid Meir's game from the past and I thought this one would be a good one too. As it has different components of the Civilizations games they are so different to my that I'm finding it hard to get anywhere in the game. I'm not giving up just yet, hopefully i'll get the knack of the simulation.

Sid Meier is the most famous game designer of our generation. He has led the design and development of many successful games. This game is his latest. If you have played previous Civilization games, and LOVE them, you should buy this game for your collection. It is basically Alpha Centauri meets Civ 5. It is fairly good, but not quite as good as Civ 5 for one basic reason: it is less familiar to the average player than the Civ concept. Therefore, if you LOVE Civ, this is a good addition to your collection. If you don't LOVE Civ or haven't played Civ, you likely will be either confused, frustrated or bore easily of the game.

When you pop in and play Civilization: Beyond Earth, it initially feels pretty darn familiar...and that's a good thing. If you've played 2010's Civilization V, a game that evolved over time due to game-changing additional content releases, then you'll feel right at home when you take your place on the proverbial throne.
There are so many more cool little intricacies that makes Beyond Earth more than a straight up re-skinning of an old Civ game. But at its heart, the core concepts ruling our decisions continuing to primarily revolve around expansion and petty ideological differences live on.
In sum, this game is an excellent alteration of a game we've all come to know and love. If you're a Civ fan, you need to get this game.

As a spiritual successor to Alpha Centauri the game is promising. unfortunately due to launch issues it has been unable to reach its full potential. In time I believe it will be a excellent game. Just not yet.

Civilization has always been rooted in historical context. Beyond Earth, however, is the first time Civ has left Earth, paving the way for the designers' creativity to really shine. The imagination behind this game's mechanics and myriad gameplay eventualities provide a captivating, and more importantly believable story of the possibilities of humankind venturing into the stars in search of a new beginning.

This is a pure turn base strategy game, a slight learning curve but well worth it, reminiscent of the classic turn based games such as X-COM. This game has high replay value, I recommend this to you.
