Good film with outstanding performances. It's a little slow, but intense. Adam Driver proves to be an amazing actor with such range for a guy who's over 6 feet tall. He can't help but stand out physically, but his performances are truly excellent.

SILENCE is an excellent, stunning and powerful story of two Christian missionaries who travel to Japan at a time when Christianity was outlawed.

Both actors (Garfield & Driver) portray themselves as priests and their dedication & commitment to both their characters and movie is apparent. You can see the physical & emotional tole it took on their bodies. It's even difficult to watch but harder to look away.

There's a good reason why Martin Scorsese waited to make this film for over 20 years. This is a dEEp well that is viscous and uplifting and gorgeously filmed and will reach into your guts and pull out a soul.

To watch Andrew Garfield act in this movie will tear your heart out! it is a tale of faith and coming up against the odds that living his faith and promoting his mission in China (it is a true story!) entails

Martin Scorsese is a fantastic director and movie maker. So versatile. The acting is great. The story is intense and emotional. This movie is nearly a masterpiece. Too bad it didn't get more exposure.

This man has directed some classics, and some of my all time favorite films, like Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, and Casino. This is a film that deserves to be considered among his best work.

As a lifelong fan of Martin Scorsese, I can safely say I find this film one of his most complex and personal works. A staggering rumination on faith and suffering, no matter what your beliefs are.

Martin Scorsese's masterpiece that was almost 30 years in the making. The cinematography of fantastic and the performances are great. Definitely worth watching if you're a fan of the director.

Didn't know much about Silence only that what I seen the trailers. When I saw this is was out on DVD I just had to buy it and I am glad I did. Great film with outstanding performances.

This was such an amazing movie. Many do not realize how other countries suffered to honor their religions. It was written and played fabulous and I absolutely enjoyed this film.

Overall in good condition. There was a rip in the slipcover, but that's it. Were only a few left at the store. Was going to hold off for maybe a Criterion release of this, but will probably be many years off, if ever.

Good movie about a time a new very little about. Movie was much longer than it needed to be and drags at several points.

The content of the story and the way it is presented provided me with much food for thought. I watched this movie in theaters and could not wait to purchase it once it came out.

Knowing this is a true story really opened my eyes to the missionaries that were sent to China! EXCELLENT acting, casting, directing, camera work was second to none. A MUST SEE

Wondered how people can keep their faith in the face of all the tortures, drowning and misery they go through. I think of all religions, the Christians were the ones who suffered most because of their faith.

Underrated Martin Scorsese gem. Interesting storyline and I am not a religious person.

This movie really flew under the radar, especially for being a Scorsese movie. It's actually now one of my favorite movies of his. Thw fact that it contained a iTunes/UV digital copy was an added bonus

Great film about the persecution of Christians in Japan during the 17th century. Excellent performances by all. Rated "R" only for bloodshed. Well worth watching.

Without a proper understanding of the psychology and tolerance of a foreign nation, it leaves one to consider the possibility of failure through missionary zeal.
