As a long-time fan of slasher movies & a child of the 80s, I didn't SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT until the early 2000s. And I couldn't believe I'd never watched it before. It has a perfectly nasty set-up story which makes for a legitimate case of psychosis. Then the accidental perfect storm that sets our "hero" loose on a crusade of punishing naughty children while wearing a Santa costume. And screaming "punish" a lot. Charles Sellier, Jr.'s 1984 flick was brought under heavy fire when it came out as obscene & making a holy holiday into a twisted bloodbath. That only helped the popularity & notoriety of the movie. Now enjoy this gem in HD with great extras. Oh, and the second feature, SILENT NIGHT, has absolutely nothing to do with the main feature, except Christmas & horror.

You cannot beat the price on this 2 disc double feature set! You get the original Silent Night, Deadly Night, as well as the (surprisingly good) remake. If you're into killer Santa Claus movies, than you should pick this set up for sure!

I bought this based solely on the reputation of Silent Night, Deadly Night. I consider myself a horror movie junkie but for some reason this one had always eluded me. Well, it's....okay. It's a curiosity because of the controversy it caused when it first came out, but in reality it's a pretty mediocre horror movie. Same goes for Silent Night: a perfectly okay horror movie, but nothing special. Each movie has a couple of extras, nothing mind-blowing, but for the price this is a decent purchase.

Love me some good holiday horror movies and these two fit the bill. Just fun slasher movies.
