This Simmons 10” mattress in a box it’s very comfortable and easy to set up. First you take it out of the box , lay it on your frame or box springs set, take off the outer plastic off, the mattress will unfold then you cut the sealed plastic and remove it. The mattress immediately takes shape, but I waited two days before I use it to make sure it will set on my frame bed completely. I will say this is so far the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever have, even thought this Queen mattress looks a little less wider than my frame bed , its a very comfortable mattress for sleep. The mattress is exactly 10” inches high and 10” wide, so make sure you measure your bed frame, I should have got the 12” since my bed frame is 12”, but this 10” will do the job for now.

If your in the market market for a new mattress the Simmons Hybrid Queen Sized Mattress in a Box is a great product. While searching for a mattress I noticed that most other in the box Hybrid Mattresses are $700+. I purchased the Simmons Mattress for just shy of $500. Simmons is a quality mattress manufacturer (100+ year Brand) I believe now Owned by Serta/Beautyrest)comes with 10 year manufacturer warranty.

This is the first mattress in a box we have ever tried. I was a little skeptical about the quality of a mattress that arrived so small. I have to say we are pleasantly surprised with the comfort that comes from something that is wrapped up so tight. It was very easy to pull out of the box - set on the box spring, slice the plastic off and unroll. It just kind of inflated right in front of our eyes. It said it could have a plastic smell that would go away - but we really didn't notice that and I have a very sensitive nose. This queen mattress has been very comfortable to sleep on and I would recommend.

The mattress is good quality for a decent price. Easy to set up. It was a bit tough to get it out of the box & wrap with the tiny tool included but you use that tool to avoid puncturing the mattress. I sleep a lot better with this mattress!

Got this for my teen daughter. She loves the bed, I had no issues with a bed in a box. It expanded quickly & worked perfectly for her headboard

Springy but supportive hybrid

I’ve slept on traditional coil mattresses as well as memory foam beds, but this was my first time trying a hybrid. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but I’m glad I decided to give this a go. The Simmons 10" Medium Hybrid Mattress feels “springy” but not “sinky,” which is to say that it has some bounce, but also feels like it’s properly supporting our weight.
I like the fact that movement is nicely isolated. When one of us tosses or turns, or gets in/out of bed, the other person isn’t disturbed by it.
This particular mattress is the medium option, and it feels true to that rating. If you prefer a bed that’s got little-to-no bounce, or were thinking this might be more rigid than a typical medium mattress because of the memory foam layer, I would consider the firm option in this lineup instead.
The bed-in-a-box format was certainly convenient. The box was dropped off right at our door, and once I slid it out of the box and cut open the wrapping (using the included cutter), the mattress unfolded and expanded to its regular size on its own. It is quite heavy, though, so the two of us maneuvered it as a team. It may have been a challenge for just one person.
The Simmons 10" Medium Hybrid Mattress doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles and extra features, it is just a straightforward, convenient, and comfortable mattress. I would confidently recommend it to anyone who is looking for something that has medium-firmness, a reasonable price tag, and is easy to buy.

Overall, it's a pretty nice bed. It only gets four stars though because it's more of on the firm side rather than medium. From some of the reviews they say that it will soften up over time so if that changes it'll be a five star.

Great “hybrid” experience!

This is my first time trying a Hybrid mattress and I honestly I didn’t know what to expect. When the mattress arrived, it came in a box of 46x16x16 inches rolled up, really heavy so I honestly wasn’t sure of what kind of performance it could will provide. When I opened the box, and read the instructions, there were only 4 basic lines, a very easy setup. It came enclosed with 2 plastic packages, the first one is to protect it, and the second one you will open only when the “mattress” is placed on the bed. Once you break the second plastic cover, the mattress immediately starts to ‘inflate”, so it is vacuum packed. And within few minutes it reached its normal dimensions for the queen size I ordered. I will say that to reach the full size it may take a few more hours.
It is heavy, which is a good thing because it is telling me the materials which it is made are reliable and durable, it really feels good quality, and after sleeping several nights I can I can tell how good it feels comparing to my old regular mattress. I can feel the difference. The support and cushion provides a high feeling of comfort and relaxation. I can feel how my back relax and rest when lay down facing up. The mattress feels solid but not too hard on my back. Very different from the bouncy and lightweight mattress I had before. The mattress slowly adjust to the shape of my body as I lie down. I 100% recommend this mattress to anyone looking for a good nights sleep.

A very comfortable hybrid mattress

This is our second Serta-Simmons mattress, although the first 10” Medium Hybrid. This mattress is similar to two other mattresses (different manufacturer) we received a few years back in that it arrived vacuum sealed. I find it odd getting a rolled up, vacuum sealed mattress; however, it works well and does make shipping and handling easier. This one, including the shipping box (dimensions: 46x17x16 in.), weighed in at around 43lbs.
Unboxing the Serta was easy, as was breaking the vacuum seal. Once removed from the plastic, the mattress immediately began to inflate. And while it took less than an hour to full inflate, that is a big improvement over the two mattresses I mentioned earlier that easily took a full day to expand.
The two older mattresses when first inflated, had a very noticeable smell to them. We were told that this was caused by the manufacturing and vacuum sealing process. It was pungent enough that we had to turn on the overhead fan and open the bedroom window to vent the smell. This Serta was nowhere near as bad, but it did have an odor that lasted a few days.
Note: the odor seems to be common to vacuum sealed mattresses, so it is not a reason to avoid purchasing a similar mattress.
The mattress itself is 10” thick, much thinner than the mattress it replaces. The older mattress did not have internal springs, while this 10” mattress does indeed have springs. You cannot, however, feel the springs when laying on the mattress. This mattress, by the way, is rated medium on the firmness scale.
And it is quite comfortable!
My wife and I both gravitate toward a medium firm mattress, which we find offers a big respite to our backs. And for us, is comfortable for both back sleepers and side sleepers.
Since our original mattress was much thicker than 10 inches, this mattress will require us to purchase replacement sheets to accommodate the Serta’s smaller form factor. That’s a consideration for any mattress you might purchase.
In all, this is a comfortable mattress that more than amply meets our needs. As such, I’m giving it a 5-star rating.

Easy to open and setup with great comfort. No strong odor of any sort but my nose not as sensitive. But the kids and wife Aldo said no to funky smells, so big plus. We unwrapped it and put it onto the bed frame to uncoil and expand in the spare bedroom.
That was as simple as it sounds. We waited a few days to make dire it fully expanded, it was not s perfect fit onto our queen frame but not too bad. The overall impression is a nice solid relatively semi firm mattress with a nice sofa topper. My wife and the older kids loved it, the younger kids not so much because might have been a little too firm for them. I myself found it perfectly comforting, very little issue with heat buildup during a night if sleeping.
The only con is no grab handles for moving the mattress if you wish yo rotate the mattress on your bed frame but otherwise great supportive mattress at great prices.

Excellent Hybrid "Bed-In-A-Box" Mattress

We have tried various bed-in-a-box (BIAB) options, but no other has impressed us nearly as much as this Simmons 10" Medium Hybrid Mattress. This is an excellent mattress option.
We have three queen beds in our household. Each one has a different new bed-in-a-box option we wanted to try. This Simmons is our most recent BIAB, and it will be what we use going forward.
The mattress features:
+ Individually-wrapped coils to help isolate movement, promote airflow, and provide support.
+ Climate Cool moisture-wicking cover to help you sleep cool and dry.
+ Gel memory foam to provide excellent comfort.
Simmons offer a 100-night return period. It's encouraging to see a traditional mattress company doing that. Many of the smaller internet mattress companies offer a return period ranging from 30-120 nights, so 100 nights is pretty good. But I don't think you'll need to worry about returning this one.
When testing a mattress I look for a few specific traits:
1. Support. The individually-wrapped coils here allow the Simmons to provide a high level of support. This support will allow your body to align in a proper position for restorative sleep and help prevent back and hip pain.
2. Comfort. While I like strong support, I have found that I really appreciate a soft topper. Our primary bed is a king-sized bed with a 2" foam topper. This mattress includes a gel memory foam comfort layer that is quite good at allowing your body to sink in just enough to keep your spine aligned without that mushy, overheated feeling you might get from traditional memory foam.
3. Edge Support. This is an area where traditional foam mattress usually fall short. Edge support is not as strong in the Simmons as it is for a firm coil mattress, but it is more than adequate, especially for a BIAB type mattress. This is due to the hybrid (coil + foam) construction.
The mattress arrives in a rather large box. It is rolled up and wrapped very tightly. Note, the queen size version is 87 pounds, so you'll need some help to move it around. Once you begin to remove the wrapping, the mattress will begin to expand. Let it fully expand before using it.
Once it has expanded, you do not need to flip this mattress with regular use, although you should spin it every few months. Note it does not include grab handles on the sides, which would make spinning it or moving it to another location FAR easier. The lack of handles is actually my only complaint with the mattress.
As it typical with a BIAB, there may be some slight off-gassing smell for a day or two, but it does not continue beyond that initial period.
All-in-all, I am extremely pleased with this mattress. I have slept on traditional coil mattresses and on foam/latex mattresses. Both have their strengths, but I think the hybrid option is the best of both worlds and highly recommend this bed by Simmons.

This mattress is definitely just right for me - a moderately heavy person of average height.
It has an appropriate amount of support and cushion to provide your body a good night's rest. The very first night I slept on it, I felt quite comfortable all night long. I am mostly a side sleeper but no matter which way I turned, I found this mattress supported me quite nicely without being too squishy or too firm. If you are a back sleeper, you would most likely appreciate the support this mattress provides the lower back.

Best of both worlds, traditional coils & soft foam

After a couple of weeks with a back ache, I knew I needed a new mattress. The Simmons hybrid mattress is a Perfect combination of traditional coils and foam mattress. The firmness of traditional coils really helped my back and the softness of the foam made laying in bed so comfortable, you just don’t want to get out of bed. Coming from an all foam mattress, it’s significantly different. My previous bed really didn’t offer support for my back. I could highly recommend this for people looking for a new mattress.

No more morning back ache!

At 76, I figured all the aches I felt in the morning were just due to old age. I'd had my mattress for more than 30yrs and decided to try something new. The Simmons 10" Medium Hybrid had great reviews and was on sale for UNDER $400! What did I have to lose? The set up was easy (except for moving out my old mattress and lugging in the new one). The difference was evident the very first morning: my back felt great! I wasn't all bent over for the first few hours. I sleep more soundly, can sleep on my back or side and fall asleep faster than before. The support is even and firm enough despite the fact that the mattress seems to have a lot of "give". Best decision I've made in years!

No more pain! Best sleep in years!

This is the best mattress I've had in years. Simmons makes good quality mattresses that I owned over the years but this is way better for sleeping than any other. Only issue that's worth mentioning is that the sides layers are very thin to the point that I can see and feel the "springs".
It comes folded in half and in a roll small enough to be handled by one person, but it is heavy enough to need two people.
Beware of the new smell, it can be overwhelming for a couple of days. Once unfolded it is easy to manipulate. The best thing is I no longer wake up with pain all over!!! Better than conventional mattresses.
