What can I say? This trashcan does exactly what it is supposed to. It opens without hesitation when you put your hand/trash over it. It soft-closes and has a charcoal filter to keep unwanted odors in. You don't have to use the recommended trash bag. It allows for any standard trash bag. Non-simplehuman bags fit inside the can just fine. You wouldn't know they were the "wrong size bag" unless you put it in yourself. The only con to this unit is that it does not come with an AC Adapter. It runs a little sluggish when running on D batteries. So, if you have an outlet nearby, you can purchase the adapter which, strangely, is not carried by Best Buy. I had to buy it at an alternate retailer. Missed opportunity for BB because, I mean, if you're already spending this much on a trash can, what's another $20 to plug it up? Having the option for batteries is handy though, should the power ever go out. But I really wish the can came with the cord.
