    Disappointing Installation

Disappointing. The hand truck used to bring the oven in the house gouged slate kitchen floor. Adhesive on box transferred to and stained hardwood floor. Oven racks were dropped on slate floor, cracking it and being rack so it does not slide smoothly in oven. Wiring was substandard - conduit not clamped to junction box so loose wires were holding weight. Junction box dropped in hole in drywall instead of being attached to wall, cabinet or stud. We filed claim with Best Buy weeks ago, received an acknowledgement of the claim immediately, but have heard nothing since.

build in oven was installed incorrectly

We purchased a build in oven from best buy and we also had paid to have it installed but unfortunately it was installed incorrectly leaving a gap between the oven and the wall. We asked the same team of people who installed it to come out again to correct it and twice they said they will but never came. After two weeks of begging another team arrived and after 5 minutes they told us there is nothing they can do. SO we have to pay another handyman to do the job.

    Awful installation

The oven is great however, the installation was awful. They took the plastic off while the oven was still cold from being in the truck which left adhesive that we have to work really hard to get off. They screwed straight into cabinet instead of at an angle and cracked our cabinet. We didn’t notice until after they left, they left in a hurry. Great oven, would not recommend this company to install.

It took the installer three appointments to not install the oven correctly. The installer gave erroneous information to collect additional fees and was not flexible with minor issues. I would never recommend this installer to anyone, ever. The staff at Best Buy made it right monetarily but it doesn’t replace two canceled holiday parties

    Installation nightmare

We purchased our oven May 29 and installation was to be July 26. For both the prestallation measurement and oven installation appointments the contractor was a no-show or very late. Finally, after contacting our local store manager our even was installed on July 2 at 9pm.

The oven was not leveled when installed the first time. When they came back the second time , they made it WORSE. Now the oven is hanging to far out of the cabinet and the cabinet itself is broken.

My cabinet was over cut so there is an opening under the over and it is very unattractive. Also the door does not open all the way.

    Mostly Happy

Overall, the oven installation went very well. The only challenge was with the communication leading up to the installation. The actual installer was great. He reached out the day prior to installation to confirm the day and time and was very pleasant. He even suggested that I contact Best Buy to purchase the appliance haul away/recycle service. That's where the trouble began. I called Best Buy to add the service and was told that doing so would postpone my installation by two weeks. No explanation for a nonsensical change. So, I passed on the additional service. When the installation day arrived... no installer. I contacted him, and he told me that Best Buy had removed me from his calendar. He said he was available two days later, so I called Best Buy and was again given a date two weeks into the future. I said, "So, even though the installer is available in two days, you're making we wait two weeks?" The response, "Yes." Grrr. Fortunately, two weeks later, the installation went off without a hitch. So, all good in the long run, but Best Buy made the process more difficult that it needed to be.

    Wonderful Oven, Love it!

Love this oven. Sleek, beautiful and modern looking, it looks nice in my kitchen, and I love the dark stainless finish and overall dark appearance. It's a beautiful design and has all the features I cared about. It has convection cooking options, although I haven't used that as much as I thought I might. The controls are touch screen style, so no buttons to get dirty or to stop working. The interior is larger and wider than my previous 30+ year old oven, even though it fits in the same space. Perhaps the old oven walls and structure was wider, not sure about that. I can fit two 12-muffin pans easily side by side, wheras in my old oven they didn't quite fit. I got a fantastic deal on a floor model (making way for a new bunch of ovens to display), no problems at all due to that. As it was a floor model, we took the oven with us (no delivery needed), and then Best Buy's installation service was efficient and very quick, just a couple of days later. The newer ovens such as this one apparently aren't quite as tall as my old GE oven (space width was the same), so I had to get a bit of cabinet work done to fill in the open space under the oven (about 6 inches). I was pleased that GE had a rebate program in place to cover the cabinetry adjustment costs (they had a guarantee that the oven would fit in the space of your previous one). This was a nice bonus as an incentive to buy GE, although I did like GE ovens the best. The cost of the cabinetry work was exactly the amount of GE's rebate offer. Also worth adding is that when I examined various other oven brands in the store, some of them weren't nearly as smooth and well finished as this one...some had rather sharp edges at the corners of the door that you could almost cut your fingers on. So I immediately noticed that this GE model was nice and smooth with rounded edges. Overall, I'm 100% satisfied and would buy this same oven again. Over the years, I've had very good experiences with GE appliances. My experience buying an appliance from Best Buy was also stellar (I've had some less than good experiences buying appliances from another big box store).

Nice modern oven; needs some firmware updates

Mostly things work as intended. Installation was a hassle as the previous owner of this house didn't plan for the 1985 oven's replacement; had to rewire things for the installation without ripping out thousands of dollars of custom cabinetry. Not this oven's fault, but it would have been nice to have been informed of the requirement prior to purchase and delivery of a $$$ paperweight as electricians are in short supply. The split oven, steam function, and the bread proofing are nice. Pretty well conceived and executed. However, it just randomly beeps or flashes things on the display. Unsure what is causing it, but it's not too loud or obnoxious. Connected it to WiFi hoping that would fix things with a firmware update but alas, no.

    Good service, with two concerns

Service was good, but two concerns: 1. One of the two service personnel was wearing a bandana, not a proper face mask, which should be expected during the Omicron wave. BestBuy or its service vendor should supply workers with proper face masks. 2. The actual service time was hours in advance of the estimated service time that was sent to us in advance, causing some inconvenience, and even a cancellation on an earlier service date. I kept getting estimated service time even after the service was completed, so there may issues with the service software/notifications used rendering them unreliable. Please fix.

    Expensive Modification

The install was quick and the installer was nice, friendly and would have received a 5 star rating if he wasn't so expensive for a 10 minute modification. I was charged $100 for him to measure (1 minute to measure) and cut one side of the cabinet (less than 10 minutes to cut the one side), which is ridiculous. The original price I was quoted was $150 but because I didn't believe he was serious he cut $50 off the price. I appreciate the price break but please, please consider fixing prices to a more affordable rate, especially during covid time. I need to have a cooktop installed too but I will find a handyman

Had a Best Buy in-home consultant measure and make recommendations. Initially she determined no trim kit was needed. The sub contracted install team had to build a box to raise the oven about 6 " . This left an opening about an inch high and the width of the oven on the bottom. Cabinet wood previously covered by the old trim kit on top looked bad. Best Buy consultant followed up immediately and a couple weeks later a customized trim kit was installed to cover aforementioned areas. Two of the three metal trim pieces had an extra lip that cause them to stick out a little bit, but placing them at the bottom of the oven took the small gap out of view. (I REALLY love the ovens. Highly recommend them.)

    GE Spacemaker stainless steel microwave

This is a specialty product because it is mounted under a cabinet rather than sitting on a counter. It is not a very large microwave, and does not all of the bells and whistles that other microwaves in this price range have. It is pricey at $450+/- . However, it is a high quality microwave, well built, and performs all of the basic functions for which one typically uses a microwave well . I have a custom cabinet, and a space for this sized microwave. I does save counter space !

This service is for removal of old unit disconnect wiring and wire new unit and slide it into place. My new samsung oven weigh in is 175lbs so I had to use the install service but had to finish the job my self to make the install proper I needed a brace in the rear my old oven just hung there the new one weight was to much to handle that. This service is a little pricey for what you get. But for what the installers did, they did well.

I am 80 years old and had to have help lifting it up in the "hole". I like the fact I can turn of the "dinging bell" when the timer shuts off. Sometimes the tough pads are not sensitive enough but that is probably me being in a hurry and not punching them squarely or hard enough. The choice of power setting is very convenient and lets you set a lower temp for thawing without cooking the edges. And it has a nice stable turntable that removes easily for cleaning.

    Good oven

Generally I am happy with the oven. The door opens to the side which I don't find optimal. In the past I have set things down on the open door that opens down. This will likely be OK in the long run even though the original delivery company failed to revers the door as expected. The Geek Squad did a fine job of fixing that eventually. It appears that the original delivery (XPO?) broke one of the screws for the door so they refused to reverse the door without charging moor. The Geek guy apologized for the bad delivery job.

    Good Install, Poor communication

Installation itself went very well. Installers were friendly and were careful not to damage anything during installation. Knocked off 1 star due to poor communication. Had scheduled a 3 hour window for installers to come, but it wasn't until 15 minutes before the end of the 3 hour window that I got a call saying they were running late. Ended up arriving 2 hours past the end of the 3 hour window.

We had two guys come out to install our wall oven. They did a great job, were very courteous and cleaned everything up. They did however have to put in a box for the electricity and cut the hole a little wider for the oven. It cost an additional $150.00. Since there was not an installation charge we just figured that was the installation charge. All in all they did good........

First let me say that my installer was AWSOME! He respect my home, my husband and myself. He did an fantastic job with the removal of the old oven and the installation of the new one. That said, the first oven I ordered didn't fit. I knew my opening size, and the salesman assured me it would fit... it didn't and couldn't, the installer had to take it back to the warehouse. BUT he made some suggestions about what brand to change to, and with the help of GE we found one that fit perfectly! The patience and helpfulness of the installer far exceeded our expectations. I truly appreciate all he did to make us happy customers!
