The game is good for karaoke enthusiasts. This series requires the specific use of their microphones so any other won't work. These microphones are best to be used with Singstar only because I tried it in Rock Band, and it can't do the tambourine part along with matching the vocals right. It also can't be used for Disney Sing It since the vocals are off too. The song selection is decent. It has a lot of oldies on their from the 80's and 90's but not a lot of updated songs. Rap songs can be hard to rap to since you have to say the words just right or you'll end up with a bad score. Sometimes the lyrics go too fast as the game doesn't give you enough heads up depending on the song so sometimes you feel like you have to know the song beforehand to actually do well. The thing I like about this game is that you actually see the music video instead of having bad animated characters dancing and singing like the American Idol series.

Singstar makes its way onto the PS3, boasting 1080p graphics and lots of downloadable content. If you have played this series on PS2, not much has changed here. The online aspect is limited to sharing song and video files (via the PlayStation Eye) to your friends and Singstar community, but there is no actual online competition. The music videos playing in the background are also in standard definition. Around thirty songs are included on the disc, while there are hundreds available to download for a nominal fee. This one is still a great party game, but lets hope the next incarnation includes some real online competitive play.

The game has a lot of features, but unelss you buy more songs from the Singstar store, there's not much to it. The best part of the game is watching videos of other singers around the world. It is just hilarious!

The $59.99 version is definitely a great buy as it includes 2 microphones along with the game. It already comes with 30 tracks of various songs...something for everyone in that sense. The option to download more songs online will definitely keep the replay value on this game high for a very long time. Online tends to be a bit slow, but this game is still relatively new so I'm hoping that Sony UK will be able to work out the bugs as this game progresses into the future. There's already a handful of new songs on the online list and I've already downloaded a number of them. It's great so far.

This is fun, tons of downloadable content. If your into karaoke, this is a must. This is the best so far in the singstar series.

I was very excited for the SingStar pack for PS3. The songs are more modern but selection is on the weak side. The American Idol game for PS3 is much better and I play it frequently. I just do not enjoy the set up, layout and game play of the SingStar though I know others like it quite well.
