I bought these as a replacement for my old Smokin Buds 2. First the bad, I can confirm two issues others have rated, leakage and comfort. For the listener, they're loud but clean; however, anyone nearby will get a good bit of sound, as well. Not the best choice at full volume for work, say. After extended wear, they can also get uncomfortable on the ear. Slightly adjusting them over the ear can alleviate this for a time, but if you are into marathon listening sessions, I go 5-6 hours sometimes, it's something to keep in mind. That said, the upside is that they stay charged an insanely long time. I've forgotten to disconnect them from my tablet or phone, only to try to FaceTime or call a day later and discover they're still connected. They've never died during listening with regular charging, and the included audio cable easily remedies the problem when/if they do. Sound quality always comes back to bass, for me, and while they aren't the most punchy, I not disappointed across a range of genres. As budget headphones go, I don't think I'll find much better in this range, until I try the Hesh 2's, maybe

    Great mid-level headphones

I love these headphones so much that I own two pairs, one for home and one for work because I never like being without them. The sound is very crisp and clear, I personally prefer the sound of these headphones over the Beats studio ones. They fit comfortably over my ears, they have a nice cushioned surface that hugs your ears without any discomfort. The Bluetooth range on these headphones is good. I can put them on while charging my phone and I am able to walk the entire house without losing audio. At work, the range is about 100-150 feet before I lose signal.

Bought this to use with our TV as we are getting hard of hearing. My wife wanted them for herself. Using this with a HomeSpot Dual Stream Optical Digital Wireless transmitter connected to the TosLink on our vizio m701d-a3r TV. I have all of our devices connected via HDMI to a yamaha receiver with a single HDMI going to the TV and the speakers on the TV are off. There is a hair bit of lag, but unless your staring at the mouth of the person talking, it's not very noticeable. I'm pretty particular about that kind of thing and the lag isn't enough for me to really notice unless I stand 5 feet from the TV and look for it. With the headphones and the transmitter, it works exactly how we wanted. Plugged the xmitter into a usb port on the TV for power, bound the device to the headphones and now, whenever the TV is on, the xmitter is powered and she just turns on the headphones and it connects. No fuss whatsoever. I first had her try my bose AE2W headphones, but they were too warm for her ears. She still wore them for a couple weeks because she liked being able to hear without blasting the TV. The skullcandy ones are almost as light, but they aren't nearly as warm since they rest on the ear instead of enveloping it. They don't get quite as loud as I had hoped, but she doesn't have to max them out to hear the voices when people are talking on the TV. I tried a new receiver that had dialog amplification which helped for a while, but as time went on, her hearing degraded and we had to try something else. On days when she isn't working, she has the headphones on for many hours at a time and tends to forget they are on as she walks out the door to run errands. She's wore them clear to the car on more than one occasion due to forgetting they are even on her head. She has yet to have them go dead while using them. She charges them at night and if she uses them for many hours in a row, she plugs them in to a charger at her end table for a little while to avoid running them dead. I think the battery is supposed to last 12+ hours, so odds are, unless we are binge watching something on netflix, she won't have an issue anyway. I may get a second set for myself so I don't bend hers out of shape as my head is much larger. However, I'll have to get another transmitter and a fiber splitter I think as the xmitter I bought is supposed to handle two sets of headphones, but the instructions are very lacking. Which makes it questionable as to if I can get a second set paired without screwing up her headphones.

I love these headphones. The sound that comes through them is so awesome especially the bass. I wasn't really interested in a wireless headphone but I tried it out anyway and they work well with my IPhone and IPad. I use them mainly to listen to the radio and CD's and I wish the cord was longer. That is my only complaint. I also like how they fit to your ears and doesn't use foam ear pads so they won't deteriorate and leave residue in your ears which has happened to me a lot with other headphones that I used to use. I have used Skullcandy headphones in the past and I have been impressed by the sound they generate and how long they last. I think I will stick with their products from now on. Might be a little expensive but it is worth it in the long term.

A hit with my 9 year old

    |
    Posted .

Looking for set of headphones for 9 year old for vacation and determined from reviews that "kids" sets were washed out on plane. Went with these because reviews stated they were loud enough to be heard on plane and were the right size for my child ata reasonable price. After a month, my child loves them and uses them all the time. Nice to have the extra cord to use when BT dies. Only issue is that one of the ear covers fell off but went back on with no issue. Good purchase.

    Great for the price range

While I would have loved the Bose, this was a very good low price range. Ended up using them on a 10 hour flight, and even wearing glasses my ears only started getting sore after about 7 hours of use, VERY impressive for on ear headphones. Good highs and lows as far as tone as well, well worth the price.

I purchased these headphones for my pre-teen daughter. She likes to watch her own movies while I'm watching my own movies. I purposely bought these wireless so she would not be catching and tearing up wires. She finds these very comfortable and the charge last a good long time.

I bought these over all the other brands for a couple of reasons: They fit my big head and Skullcandy customer service has been very loyal to me over the years, so I've responded in kind. As for a brief and honest review; they sound good for a sub $100 headphone, the battery lasts a long time, and they look handsome doing it. Quality feels kind of plastic-y and the mid and high end is a bit lacking but can be cleaned up with some EQing. 4/5

    Use for work and exercise

    |
    Posted .

I originally got this to do double duty as a bluetooth headset for my mobile phone and to play music on while exercising. The headphones work great for both and have held up well after several months. Only problem is when you wear them for long periods of time (like over an hour) they get very uncomfortable. Not sure if it is the shape or padding, but either way keep that in mind. Solid sound and functionality, not the best comfort wise.

I bought these for the gym and it has been one of my best purchases to date. The sound is really good, good bass and they are comfortable. They are very easy to use. It would have been 5 stars, but I get drops from connections. Not for long though, usually a second. Still love them. I may buy a pair for my wife.

    Pretty good, reasonable price

I was looking for inexpensive wireless headphones and these are pretty good. Sound isn't perfect (I didn't expect them to be) but they sound decent. The mid-range seems to be lacking a bit, especially in Jazz and Classical music. There are some lost details in the music compared to my old Koss headphones and there could be a bit more bass. But they're very comfortable and the battery life seems decent. Simple controls. Pairing is easy with my iPhone and iMac. The price is reasonable too for wireless headphones, under $80. I like the design too but wish they folded or came with a travel case.

    Slim and quality sound

It's size allows fit under almost any hoody and not be noticeable compared to other headphones that humongous! i walk a lot and have no vehicle and we live in a crazy world; someone may want to rob you for them or think they can rob for money because you're probably not paying attention . . . you get the idea. Great price and quality sound. They come with a back up auxiliary wire if your headset has no battery life and of course features with that are limited. Sorry can't write more on this but I just want my points y'all. Also, I returned mine because I wanted to try the Crushers $149.99+tax.

    Wireless....YES PLEASE

I was not only recommended this by a good friend of mine who owns a pair himself. But I had also done my research on many other similar products before this purchase. I absolutely love the ease of use through my bluetooth items. The metal band which is flexible but sturdy. The sound is nice and clear, could it have a little more bass I am sure. But for me it was perfect. If I had to give any warnings, the pads aren't totally comfortable for prolonged use. (I tend to use it hours and hours) And I did have to buy a Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter for my main PC to connect it, although it does come with the jack for your headphones ports. So there is a work-around.

Pros: Has very long life when bluetooth Can go aux or bluetooth Sturdy design but soft ear pads Very nice sound Looks sexy af Cons: You can only control the headphones when in bluetooth mode, other wise the buttons on the side are useless Mic doesn't work with xBox party. This was a bummer. Maybe just get a Crusher cord that has a built in mic.

    Solid, Long Lasting Headphones

I bought these headphones almost two years ago and they are still holding up great! The sound quality is awesome and the price really cant be beat. I also like the ability to connect an aux cord to the headphones just in case you run out of juice. Charges quick and lasts really long too, I am a definite heavy user and charge em every 3-4 days or so. Definitely would recommend these for someone interested in introductory bluetooth headphones without breaking the bank!
