The sealing on the right muff's slowly peeling away. It's hanging by a thread at the time of writing this. This is the third (and last) pair of Skullcandy headphones I've purchased that are yet again, drenched in plan obsolescence. They're still under warranty, but I can't get anything filled because a widget can't be bothered to appear on the bottom right of their page, so I'm forced to give them a call, likely for them to tell me to do what I'm already trying to do to get the ball rolling. The quality has really gone down with these headphones. The noise cancelling was fine, but there's very little bass to enjoy. The pair I had previously were much better in comparison, but due to faulty wiring, they had to be retired. The battery life's something to be desired too. If I can't get these fixed, I'm over Skullcandy. I'm looking elsewhere, because I've had nothing but problem after problem with their products.

--- SETUP --- The setup for the Skullcandy Hesh ANC headphones is quick and simple. Upon unboxing, turn it on and your bluetooth device will recognize it. Pair it, and you are ready to enjoy. --- FEATURES --- The key features of the Skullcandy Hesh ANC are: 4-mic digital active cancellation, up to 22 hours of battery, rapid charge (10 min = 3 hours), built-in Tile, over-the-ear fit, collapsible for storage, call/volume control, and smart assistant activation (ex. Siri). --- PERFORMANCE --- These headphones are great at what they are supposed to do: actively cancel noise. If you’ve never used noise-canceling headphones (ANC), this is a great pair to get started with. My wife is a singer/vocal coach. As she was practicing and warming up, I put on the headphones without even listening to music and I couldn’t hear her even though she was in the next room. I walked over to her while wearing the headphones. Being right next to her, it sounded like she was very far away. Once I turned on my music, I couldn’t hear her at all. I wanted to test these in another loud environment, so I went to my gym where I was sure to find people grunting, weights hitting the floors, and machines whirring. As promised, the headphones actively canceled all noise and I was able to enjoy my movies while working out on an elliptical. With a quick charge of 10 minutes giving me up to 3 hours of use, these are now my headphones of choice for the gym in case I forget to charge them overnight. --- EXPECTATIONS --- The product exceeds my expectations. When searching for headphones, there are extreme audiophiles who want total and complete control over minute details of their sound. These are not that. The box itself says “wireless simplicity with noise canceling.” It is in that simplicity that these headphones surpass my expectations. These must be my 15th pair of headphones and I’ve noticed that while other headphones try to give one button multi-uses, these keep things simple and easy to understand. There is a button to turn off or on the ANC, the volume/track button, and the power button. That’s it. That is all you really need. I tried pairing them with the Skullcandy app, but as of this review, this was not an option. The thing is, sometimes, you just want something that isn’t convoluted, so the app isn’t needed to enjoy. These are the headphones for the person who wants to turn on their audio, listen to it, and forget about everything else. Aside from that, they charge with the included USB-C cable and have a backup auxiliary cable in case you ever run out of battery or want to use them in an airplane. Using the auxiliary cable, I connected them to my Xbox Series X. Though the mic doesn’t work for that, I enjoyed my single story gaming content with these. They feel comfortable when worn over 3 hours and didn’t bother me even when wearing my glasses. Phone calls do sound phenomenal, as I was told by the family members I called and the ANC helped me focus on the conversation as opposed to the dishes I was washing. Finally, they have an embedded Tile, which is technology that allows you to ping them using other Tile customers in case they ever get lost/misplaced/stolen. Pairing with Tile was also a simple process and I feel confident that if I ever forget them or lose them, I can track where they are. --- VALUE --- The price for the Hesh ANC is worth the investment considering the amount of time you will get use of them. --- APPROVAL --- I highly recommend this product for people who want to enjoy their audio in loud environments or even want to drown out loud noises without listening to anything at all. Also, if you are the type to forget to charge things overnight, like I occasionally do, the quick charge feature is one you will quickly learn to love.

A little weird when it switches from phone call to music. Other than that a good product all-around if you don’t mind the weird process for when it switches from calls to music.

The Skullcandy - Hesh ANC - Over the Ear - Noise Canceling Wireless Headphones is Skullcandy’s budget or as Skullcandy calls it “everyday” ANC headphones with the Crusher ANC as its top model and the Venue ANC in between. Being its most affordable ANC headphones, it is expected that build quality is plasticky. But unlike the Venue, the Hesh ANC has a rubbery texture to compensate for it. The headphones are foldable so it occupies less space when not in use. However as another cost cutting measure, it does not have a hard shell evo case, it only has a pouch which is not really a big deal for me. The good thing about the pouch is that there are compartments for its usb-C charging cable and 3.5mm cable for wired listening. It boasts of a battery life of 22 hours which definitely lasts more than a day. I haven’t really tried the 22 hours. But since I’ve received my unit yesterday, I have been using this headphones which came with 80% power and so far it’s been holding up. This headphones unfortunately has no battery indicator and I am just relying on my Android phone’s battery life measuring tool. And since I’ve been using this the whole day, the headphones has a snug fit and it quite comfortable thanks to the memory foam ear cuffs and also the cushion in the bar on top. Furthermore, sound isolation is already good. And with ANC turned on by default, it gives good noise cancellation. I always use my kitchen exhaust as a benchmark since I seldom ride on a plane. And the Hesh ANC is just slightly below the top rated headphones out there. It has four mics for phone calls. And I’ve tested it for phone calls. Call quality is good but not that good. Still a strong performer. Ambient mode here is also good but not great. And if ANC is off, battery life can be extended up to 30 hours AFAIK. Lastly it has forty mm drivers to deliver a decent sound signature Skullcandy is known for. Mids and highs are IMO on the right levels. Bass is slightly elevated which I like but not to the level of the Crusher series and definitely louder compared to the Venue which has minimal bass. Unfortunately, this headphones do not have an app wherein you can control eq settings. But being a budget model, this is kinda expected. But it does have Tile integration like most wireless Skullcandy devices. For those wanting a decent but affordable pair of ANC headphones, the Skullcandy Hesh ANC is a high recommend.

    Hesh ANC - Pretty Good!

    Posted .

The Skullcandy Hesh ANC headphones are honestly the best bang for your buck under $100. No bells and whistles, but they exceeded my expectations for the price! Sound - 4/5 You won't feel like you’re front of the pit at a Metallica concert, but it sounds pretty darn good for $80 (on sale). I have no complaints. I tested them with music from rock to lofi, and I honestly really enjoy the signature Skullcandy sound. Is it as good as Bose or Sony? Probably not, but I'd say these are great midtier headphones that'll sound better than any in ear earbuds will ever sound. No earth shaking bass, but that’s not important to me anyways. ANC - 4/5 Works very well! Only points off are for the artificial white noise sort of sound it makes in quieter environments. It's not obnoxious, but it may be annoying if you need ANC for light noises (fridge buzzing, clock ticking, traffic outside a window, ect.) Build - 4.5/5 Nothing fancy, but these are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. The memory foam makes headphone wearing very comfortable, and the fit is very nice. The fit may be an issue for you if you have a larger head. They're easily collapsible and can probably fit in any hard-shell headphone case that you may have. As someone who has sensory issues, I'm impressed. If you want ANC headphones that aren't too extra (more things to break) then these should be PERFECT for you. Good job Skullcandy, you've got a new fan!

Possibly best headphones, ever? I'm thinking yes!

Okay, I know, price point, makes it impossible to be the best headphones, right? But I have to tell you, if you give them a try, you might agree with me. The quality of the headphones themselves is apparent when you turn them on, and put them on. From the padded band that rests on top of your head, to the cups that are soft as a pillow top mattress, with some way of keeping your ears from getting hot and sweaty, with buttons that make sense and are easy to press without taking them off. Before you even start the music, you realize that this noise cancelling system is different from the rest, and works unbelievably well. Whether you are using ANC mode or you are using awareness mode, it works amazingly well. I'm not kidding. These headphones work well to seclude you from the world around you, if you want, or allow you to hear things going on around you. Either way, it does what it says it is supposed to do. Turning to the music portion, you will be very happy with the sound that comes out of these. I'm very particular about music quality and these replicate the music very well. I'm very pleased with what I'm hearing. Very pleased. And that is saying something. I listen to everything from classical music, to older rock, to Frank Sinatra, and everything else. I fell asleep with these on, listening to Brian Crane, and woke a few hours later feeling no overheated ears, no discomfort. I wear glasses and never felt like they interfered or caused any problems with my glasses. While these connect via bluetooth and use low energy bluetooth, there is the ability to connect via a 3.5mm connector to older non-bluetooth devices. Also, these charge via USB-C, which is helpful too as the world heads in that direction. It comes with the charging cable, but like most other things, no power brick to charge them. These leave me feeling like I have gotten a high end headset by mistake, I had to check the package and stuff to be sure it is the right version that I received. They are the right ones, and they are a real winner! Best Buy has a generous return policy, but you won't need it if you try these. Trust me, I'm sold. And if I'm sold, I'm fairly certain you will be too!

I was looking for a good pair of over the ear headphones with noise canceling and strong sound at a reasonable price. Noise canceling headphones can be an expensive proposition, ranging as low as $50 all the way up into the high hundred dollars. That's where the Skull Candy's comes in. Reasonably priced with strong sound. As far as the sound the high end is crisp but not shrill or fatiguing. The bottom end is tight and full and not bloated. So many times I have found that after a long listen with other headphone I have a headache, this hasn't been the case with the Skull Candy's. The fit is snug and secure around my ears with out any pressure on the crown of my head from the padded strap. The set up and controls are logically laid out and easy to use without fiddling. The headphone come with a USB-C charging cable, a mini jack cable to plug into mini jack devices and a rugged soft carrying case for storage when not in use. All in all I have been very impressed and please with the sound and construction quality of these headphones.

Overall these are a decent value, especially if purchased on sale. Do they have the sound quality of AKG studio monitor headphones? No, but the bass is rich without being overpowering. The mid- and high-ends are a little subdued, but not dull. Is the ANC as good as that found on more expensive models? Of course not, but it gets the job done and keeps the distractions out, allowing you to enjoy music or podcasts at a lower volume, They feel a little flimsy when folded, but I carry them around in my gym bag and I haven't had any issues with durability. The included carry bag is better than nothing, but don't expect a nice case at this price point. I get several workouts and dog walks per charge, so the battery life seems pretty good. Connects to my phone as soon as I power on, and I have a pretty crummy, old phone.

Comfortable, inexpensive ($75 member price) lightweight and works great. Paired easily with my Samsung, blocks out all noise at the gym and cannot hear it unless I'm wearing it. I thought I would miss not having a app for fine tuning the sound, but the sound level is fine as is, and I really just want something that works and these check that box. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the stupidly short charging cable. Its about 3 inches in length - totally useless. I'd happily pay another dollar more for a usable cord. So, plan on needing a cord. Also recommend a case like this one - https://www.amazon.com/UltraShell-Skullcandy-Headphones-Replacement-Accessories/dp/B07ZZ28743/
