    Bassy earphones

Build quality: the earphones uses flat cables which feels like flattened thin rubber. They feel like soft linguine in terms of thinness and softness. They don't seem too durable so that is a concern for me. The housing and plug are made of cheap plastic. 2.L-shaped line jack. The housing has a see though window (depending on the color, you can see it in the picture) which makes them look a bit cheap. Sound quality: 1. These buds are decent, more like something for $15 than $30. On par with Apple earbuds with an amped bass response. The bass is better than most earphones out there. The quality of the bass is pretty ordinary, think headache inducing kind of bass after half an hour, that kind, simply amped up 3x. The selling factor here is bass. The treble is also boosted a little bit, but still sounds pretty regular. 2. The microphone is positioned on the left ear instead of the right, the quality of the microphone I found is inferior to those on the EarPods. It has a single rubber play/pause button which I actually like. Comfort: They are pretty average if not below the standard comfort level, nothing revolutionary. The speakers (not tips) are oval shaped, which supposedly is to make them more comfortable but I found they don't really help at all.

I don't normally do reviews but had to put in my 2 cents. I always purchased the Titan II earbuds from Best Buy. These were always my favorite brand of buds. I mountain bike, hike etc. and they've always stood up to medium abuse. I would normally lose them before they break. I can no longer find the Titan II so I bought the Smokin Buds sticking to Skullcandy since they seemed reliable in the past. I'm on pair number 3 in the last 1 1/2 years. I lose either the right or left channel. It's annoying and NO I never pull the wire to unplug. I ALWAYS grab the main jack. I've been making the mistake of tossing the receipt so claiming my warranty has never been an option. It seems like the straight jack on these are cheap and fail. The Titans had a right angle jack if I'm not mistaken. What gives Skullcandy? I love the quality of the sound of your product. My last pair lasted about 2 to 3 months. I was ticked! My time is more valuable than the time it takes to go through any warranty process. I know, shame on me for not saving the receipts. I will not be disappointed a 4th time.

Purchase was for my 16 year old daughter. She is pretty careful with her headphones, putting something in her ear to drown out reality is pretty much the lifeblood of her existence. Unfortunatetly, her left ear does some technoskulldudgery and destroys whatever product she puts in there. Jvc, klipsec, panasonic, sony, stienhouser, whatever... so, we went with skullcandy this time. Normally the anti material properties of her left ear kills headphones in a week. So far, it's been several weeks and they are still working. Most places are pretty good about giving you refunds for a product you purchased there. But looking up skullcandy lifetime replacement warranty. . Not bad. Just remember to get tracking number for the return, keep your reciept, and call them after a couple weeks after you verified they got your product. Should get a coupon code for replacement of 100 percent of the purchase price. 50 percent if someone you now no longer care about damages them on purpose. Or accident. Be a sport, forgive them eventually.

Clear, crisp sound from speakers and when speaking into the inline microphone, microphone works well with "OK Google" speech-to-text, flat, somewhat tangle free cording makes wearing more comfortable. Most importantly, I do not have to turn the volume higher than a normal level to clearly hear the sound. I ride five and a half hour roundtrip on commuter trains and busses during the work week, so having a high quality product that works well and fits comfortably is important. They also must hold up well to a daily cleaning with a cotton swab, as these do. I like that the tiny speaker cover on the earbud (below the silicone gel tip earpiece) is mesh, making it easier to clean, and ultimately more hygenic than the little fabric/cotton that other brands frequently use. I purchased these to replace another brand that was known to be high quality, but broke in less than two months. Good riddance! The Skull Candy headphones are a superior product.

I bought these to replace an older pair of SkullCandy headphones that stopped working bc sweat corroded the mic area. While I like the sound & comfort of the ear buds, I cannot recommend these. The cord is a full 10 inches shorter in length than the last pair. Why does that bother me you may think/ask - well, bc the cord is shorter, while running with phone in my pocket, the cord is constantly being pulled down and it’s annoying as heck. If all you need is headphones for listening to music while stationary, phone calls, etc- these are fine. Would stay away if wanting to exercise.

Could anything good come out of Park City, Utah? Just ask Rick Alden, why Milo Snow and Skate bought it. Jef Ingram sure can draw skulls, he's got skills. Music is powerful, magical, transport you immediately to another space, change your mood and make it all right. Ever wear buds that hurt your ears, fell out or distorted the sound your long for? Smokin Buds 2 is sick! It isn't just the Skullcandy name, way cool how they got it edited right down to ONE word, they got patents too! Its about the MUSIC, the power to transform - instantly. Go lose yourself in a song, put life in the all right perspective. I am from DC, Rick's from Baltimore (world headquarters Under Armour). Go see the Inner Harbor, Fort McHenry and the Chesapeake Bay

    Good luck skipping songs...

These were the best sound quality in any pair of earbuds I have ever owned, but with one big flaw- the one button remote does not work as it should. You press once to pause, twice in a row to skip the current song, and three times to go back to the previous song. I bought these headphones to wear while I work out, and I wanted to be able to quickly move on to the next song without having to retrieve my phone to do it. The issue is the double-tap to skip only works 20% of the time, usually pausing the current song instead of going to the next. There's no rhyme or reason: I can press it the exact same way, and it will skip once, then pause the next time. I never once got the "three button presses to go back" to happen either. If you just want good headphones and don't care about the one button remote, then these are good. If you're like me and it's the reason you would want these, don't get them.

The sound is fine for earbuds, about what you'd expect. These are the first SkullCandy earbuds I've had that fit like this (sort of angled ear piece that sticks out a bit from the drivers). They're comfortable and easy to wear, but after a couple of minutes with them in I'm not sure they're any different than "traditional" buds. The inline mic and controls work as expected, and have a bit higher quality feel to the buttons. The true test for these, however, is how long the connector pin (end you plug into the device) holds up. I've had some SkullCandy buds last quite a long time, and I've had some that have crapped out on me in less than a couple months. With the buds in question, though, the connector is an 'L' shape and made of firmer material, so they do seem like they'll withstand pocket use much more (the straight connectors often go to siht from constant pocket use, with the constant bending). If so, these could finally be the buds I come back to.

THE GOOD once i put the one spare set of rubber tips that fit my ears better in these earbuds have stuck in my ears quite well. Along with how well they stay in my ears they also have pretty good sound quality. THE BAD Well with every item there seems to always be at least one or two things that you might change if you could, and one of those things i would change about these earbuds is the the finish of the rubberized coating on the wire because it catches so well on things like skin and this can sometimes yank the earbuds out of your ears. The other thing that i would like to change is that the sound sometimes distorts when the volume is a little too loud. OVERALL A good cheap pair of earbuds that i would recommend to others if they could get them for around $15. I would give them a 3.5/5.0 stars if i could but i gave them a 4 instead. 3.5 rounds up in math, it was the logical choice to make.

I bought these because they had pretty good reviews and were on clearance. First of all, the earbuds on these are very comfortable. I have been having the hardest time trying to find earbuds that don't make my ears hurt after a while of wearing them and these definitely fit that bill. The noise cancellation is also very good. A little too good - I've gotten some stares in the grocery store because I'm not paying attention to the fact that I can barely hear myself talk and so I'm almost shouting. The reason I took off a star is because I find that if the mic is not right by my mouth, people have a hard time hearing me and background noise does get picked up now and then for the person on the other end of the line. Not enough for me to return or toss them though. Especially since the comfort level is so high!

Purchased on sale for about $12 and also purchased the Best Buy insurance/product protection plan for $4 late 2014. I've always liked Skull Candy earbuds since the price is usually fair (always look for sales) and you get a pretty good set of earbuds. BUT whenever I had a pair stop working, its always due to a bad connection in the wires. On average they would last me about 6-8 months with almost every day use but I'm not gentle with them. Had to replace these once already (about 6 months later) which going to the Riverdale, Utah Best Buy was very easy. Exchanged for a new pair with customer service only asking reason for replacement (originally paid $4 for the insurance/protection). Overall, they look cool, come with a few different size ear bud pieces and sound great for "budget" earbuds.

Since Sony discontinued the normal headphones that we used and we could not find the same sound quality a salesperson recommended Skullcandy. These are really good headphones. Pros: These noise cancelling headphones have good high mid and lower ranges allowing me to hear imperfections in low quality MP3 songs and more sounds in high quality MP3 songs then prior speakers. When seated snuggly in the ear have deep bass. The length and construction quality of the wire leads me to believe they will last a long time. The left ear pause/skip track button it is very helpful although i dont use pause at work because it is still noise canceling while on. I love the chrome red coloring. Cons: Plastic case for earbuds are too small. Push button 1 time for pause is ok but not for conversations.

I like Skullcandy products; these earbuds delivered what I expected, strong sound, good bass and while they're not advertised as noise cancelling, I use them on the airplane and music is the only thing I hear (this is without me turning the volume up so high I feel like I am going to cause hearing damage). My only complaint with these particular earbuds is with the microphone. People can't seem to hear me when I'm speaking even though they sound perfectly clear to me. There's no noise reduction and if the mic happens to brush against your clothes, it's apparently excruciatingly loud to the person on the other end. I definitely recommend them for sound quality, but if you are really going to be using the microphone for calls, it's not the best.

Skullcandy is an amazing earbud for the price. I am replacing my Skullcandy earbud black that I had for five years because over time the wire broke from the ear piece. The sound has improved but the comfort is just as impressive. I liked this new model because of the colorful look, they will be much easier to find in my backpack. I would recommend to anyone who has difficulty with sensitivity or comfort from anything placed in your ear. The price is excellent for such great quality. I have recommended to friends and family and they too love the Skullcandy earbuds.

Skullcandy has always been raved about by friends in the past. So when my old earbuds died, i figured "why not, I'm already in the market and they're just like any other ones". I'm glad I was wrong. All the hype about Skullcandy seems deserved. Im surprised by the Low end tones that I didn't realize I was missing before. For the heck of it I even tried to see if I could get the distortion I get on some songs when playing at higher volumes or full blast These earbuds handled it without any noticeable static (too loud to keep them in lol). These earbuds definitely surpassed my expectations...a little more expensive than the 8.99 cheapos but definitely waaayyy less expensive than some of the other name brands.

I first plugged these into my audio interface (connected to my laptop) and I was underwhelmed... I pressed the button that's on the wire and everything was suddenly fine. I realized that without pressing the button, the sound was coming out in mono, and when I would press it, the sound was then in stereo. I just used tape to always have it pressed down. Again, this is only when I have them plugged into my audio interface (this is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5). This isn't a problem though if you use these earphones with your phone! The audio was great and when I pressed the button, it would do its function, like pause, play, next, etc. They have a good amount of noise cancellation and they're very comfortable!

    Good Value for in-ear headphones

Audio quality is nice for an in-ear headphone. Comes with two different size silicone earpieces for people who have smaller ear canals. These stay in nicely even when moving about a lot (I wear these while riding my bike off big jumps and over crazy stuff and they stay in). While you have them in, they're decently noice-insular as well. When I have them in it's nearly impossible to hear anything else. The only regret I have about these is that after a year or so of my 'abusive' usage, Skull Candy headphones tend to break by either blowing out or the wiring starts to tear out internally (falling off your bike while doing crazy things tends to break stuff). Overall they're great little headphones.

I purchased some of these before and boy the lasted me a year A FULL YEAR and after that they went bad and i decided to get new ones so I ordered these and boy when I got them I thought it was a joke, the first set came with a carry case and was the button was made out of rubber and felt really good but when I got these there was no carrying case and the button was all plastic and after about 2 months the plastic gave out so I was unable to answer calls or anything so in other words the button stopped working so my advice is to carefully consider before/after you buy. If u compare the pics and look very carefully you can see the difference with the buttons.

I don't do reviews, but I am very pleased with this purchase. I bought these to tide me over til I get my lg 730 tone plus back from lg. At 1st they were great but in 2 yrs they have gone back to lg 2x because of the earbuds are garbage.. The mic is just as bad also. Once the call is removed on hold, I can hear the person I called , but they cant hear me. These night be my go 2 buds. Bass is booing, I had to turn down the bass so I could hear the highs and mid range. I used to have titans but for some reason skull candy caters to apple. I needed an android headset. And I was going to go shop on Ebay for the lg 750 pro. I saved myself some money and wont get burned by those overseas knock offs. Awesome

This is my first pair of Skullcandy earbuds and I have to admit they aren't all that bad. I use them at the office to drown out background noise (using a white noise app) so that I can concentrate on my job. Bass was definitely deeper than I had expected. Treble also seems pretty crisp when listening to music. The color is pretty cool and they fit my ears well. CONS: The button feels rather cheap but has held up so far. The regular price of $30 seems pretty steep so I'd wait for a sale and perhaps using your BB Rewards certificate as well. I got mine for just over $20 that way. I wouldn't wear them to go running or working out but I think they'd be good for regular, daily usage.
