Intense!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.————————————Pros————————————— Movie: Intense and will check out again. Sound: Atmos on a Blu-ray is always appreciated & was outputted on a 11.2 (7.2.4). There was life like moment Like when the burning trees were collapsing & as they were falling over when projected on screen, the trees crackling came out of the height ceiling speakers that trigger your instincts to make you look up. Very realistic & love it! Digital Copy: Yes Slipcover: Yes & with texture. ————————————Cons———————————— Picture: Passive 3D best shines on an OLED, 4k upscale but this title didn’t deliver as 3D was flat most of the time. No 4K/3D combo.

Entertaining but same storyline...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked this movie as it is entertaining, plenty of action but it’s like watching 2 movies released years before! I would buy this movie only if you can buy it for $10-$12 bucks unless your a Dwayne Johnson fan!

Boring Movie, Mediocre 3D Transfer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SPOILERS AT VERY BOTTOM. BLUF: I don’t recommend the movie based on both the movie script and quality of the Blu-Ray. The Setup: Screen: 120inch projector screen w/ Priper projector materials (ie not a wall) Visual: Epson 4000 Projector (Bright Cinema, Sharpness Enhance 5) Glasses: Epson 3D glasses Audio Reciever: Pioneer Elite SC-85 Speakers: Klipsch Reference Premier Series Speakers (2x RP-280F, 1x RP-450C, 4x RP-250S, 4x RP-150S, 1x 10inch Klipsch, 1x 12 inch Klipsch Sub) Player: XBONEX Room: 16x20 with audio dampening NO spoilers: Pros: The Rock is a great actor for this sort of movie and it seemed customized for him Neve Campbell was also great So-So: Audio quality not great, the things that should go boom sound flat in this film and the audio mix artists had trouble deciding at which volume certain materials should be at (I.e things burning en masse should roar but were quiet and sometimes when things like glass broke they forgot to include audio for that glass hitting the ground. SPOILERS BELOW: The movie takes place in Hong Kong and is not believable in the slightest, so immediately the suspension of disbelief is gone. It’s very made-for-Chinese audiences and it shows. It’s unfortunate because it is so heavy handed. The movie is very physically dark (I know - it’s at night - but it was terribly shot even in interior scenes.) The other main problem is the Plot. Without giving too much detail, the story’s main conflict is very unclear until the end of the second act which is far too late in my opinion. They give you so much information and back story on the Rock’s character and his life but you really don’t ever care about them. Finally his wife is supposed to not be tech savvy, but she’s in my generation and a doctor AND a former military memeber, AND a martial artist. There’s NO WAY IN HECK she finds restarting a phone to be difficult. The Rock is awesome be he can’t save this boring, bland, dark film. Maybe Redbox it...

Worth getting while on sale!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Skyscraper won't be winning any awards - but then it was never meant to. It's a big dumb summer action movie. Certainly not the greatest of the lot to ever come down the pipeline, but the film does have its moments and in spite of everything it is still a good bit of popcorn munching fun. Don't expect anything from it and you should have an okay time. Universal Studios delivers Skyscraper onto 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with a 4K transfer with Dolby Vision that offers a clean and clear improvement over its 1080p counterpart, a snappy and active Dolby Atmos mix, and a couple of decent bonus features. If you're game for some good brainless fun, give this one a spin.

Skyscraper
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The rock makes a lot of good action movies and a lot of mediocre ones and this one is mediocre. The plot is very straight forward and borrows elements from The towering inferno and die hard and honestly this leaves a lot to be desired because it doesn’t really improve on those elements or build on them. This is a movie that knows it’s a cheesy action movie but still tries to be a serious one and unfortunately falls short. If you like turn your brain off action movies then you might like this one.

Forget the story
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The story is pretty much by the book. Nothing special and nothing that will have you coming back to get more of the plot. The standout is the disc itself. The picture and audio is worth the price of admission. The flames will have you looking throughout the room. That's if you can see after the building goes up in flames. Its the standout feature of the movie. The atmos track literally surrounds you. Top notch stuff here.

Rock vs Skyscraper
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the premise of this movie but execution was lacking. Bought it on sale deep discount. Not regretting my purchase. I just wish the movie was better.

Dwayne Johnson gets high in Skycraper.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The rock plays and ex FBI agent who loses a leg in an explosion. Years later, he's a security expert who's working on the tallest building in the world, trying to get it ready to open for business. His family is living about in the middle of the building. Of course, there's a team of bad guys that want to rob the owner of the building and destroy the skyscraper. The stunts are unbelievable, but what do you expect. Lots of action and special effects.

Decent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As far as originality goes it is not. It is a remake of a much better movie the Tower Inferno. It lacks in character development and plot as well. It could have been great if they considered the fact the story need a longer time to tell and more background. It raised a lot of question for me as the movie went thru on just the sheer idea and what is going on in the movie and lack of things going on.

Average Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rock has made some good movies but this one was really not, it was too fake and predictable. I am a fan of 3D and that was the main reason. I purchased this movie, but honestly the 3D effects were not that great, few scenes here and there but that's about it. I would not recommend as a most have unless you want to add to your 3D collection like my self, but the movie is watchable.

Diehard meet the Rock
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is entertaining especially with the charismatic Johnson, one of my favorite action stars. Though the story is run of the mill, the stakes have been pushed with an even taller cooler looking monolithic building and the fact that the Rock's family is in the building do make a difference. As for the disc itself, the A/V presentation is 4 star. The 3D gets a 2 1/2 to 3 stars.

A good popcorn movie.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you analyze this movie too closely it will likely make your eyes roll, but that's not the point. It's better to grab a popcorn and a sode and turn off your brain and enjoy The Rock in another fun movie. The Atmos sound on this disk is also incredible.

Interesting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoy the Rock's movies, but this one was a bit of a stretch. It had its moments of good action sequences with an extra dosage of "there is no way that that could happen' sauce. 4K was okay. It is dark throughout most of the movie, but with the fire scenes it's nice, but you can tell at times that it is major CGI involved.

Movie had potential...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are very, very few movies with Dwayne Johnson, that we don't think are great... unfortunately this movie makes the list for one we would never purposely watch again. The movie was very predictable & just too many farfetched scenes. We dont mind one or two scenes like this, but this just seemed to be way too many.

Disaster Movie Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like the genre then you will like this. I like The Rock. He’s perfect for this type of movie. He’s likable and you can believe he has the capabilities to get out of the tough spots that come his way, and save people and be alive at the end...which is all that we ask of our disaster movies! : )

Good movie
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Towering Inferno is one if my favorite movies, so I consider this the 2000s version with way less star power. The world's tallest building catches on fire, for different reasons than the Towering Inferno, and Dwayne Johnson is left to attempt to save his family. It was enjoyable.

Meh...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am fortunate enough to have an Atmos enabled sound system in my main TV/movie watching area. Blu’s with an Atmos soundtrack are frequently a large motivator when deciding which films to purchase, regardless of the quality of the film. This one was bought for the soundtrack. ‘nuff said.

So-so movie, phenomenal 4K
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's nothing inherently bad or good about this movie, which will have some remembering The Towering Inferno and more thinking of Die Hard. But the film's presentation is phenomenal; if it's something you can tolerate/enjoy, it's a must-have for the collection. But it's not for everyone.

Good Movie for 3D, but transfer isn't great
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good overall movie... I think this was a great title for 3D, but didn't get great transfer. There are some good scenes with the 3D, but not through out the entire movie.. Too many scenes that there wasn't any depth.
