I have been waiting it for 10 years and I am glad that I did get it. It does what it states and you can watch all of your DVR recordings through it, which is a major plus. CHECK with your cable provider first to see if you already get these features, if you do not, BUY this sling box.

Only problem component cables did not plug into xfinity boxes

Easy setup. Works well. Must have good Internet connection. Has locked up a few times but most likely my older laptop.

We went to Paris for 3 weeks and my wife wanted to be able to watch all her shows, both live and recorded. The Slingbox was the perfect solution, with a few catches. The product works exactly as advertised, giving full control over our Cox DVR while we were on vacation. Quality was adequate, about what I would expect for streaming video across hotel wifi. First catch: the iOS apps are expensive. I read other reviews that mentioned this, but didn't actually see any pricing, so I'll share...the app is $14.99 for BOTH the iPad AND iPhone. Thankfully, if you use a computer (Mac or PC) the streaming is browser-based, so you don't pay anything extra. Paying $30 to get her iPad and my iPhone connected seemed expensive, especially after paying $300 for the device itself. Second catch: I'm fairly technical, but I couldn't get it setup to work via HDMI via my Denon receiver. The setup poster says to set it up via both HDMI and component, but I was never ever able to get the HDMI to broadcast audio, so its setup thru component and standard audio jacks. It works, but I would prefer to have the HDMI working. In short, it does the job, but the setup can be tricky and expensive.

Set up and use is fairly easy. Works for one program only at a time. If you are traveling and family is home, slingbox overrides the viewing on the home TV. Great when traveling and can get HD.

I set up my Slingbox 500 in about 20 minutes. It was a very easy guided setup. If you pay $15 for the iPad or iPhone app you can watch it on your device. You can also watch on a browser. On the browser and iPad my Comcast remote control appears on the screen and I can push the buttons normally. No fault of slingbox, but when you push a button it has to go through your broadband so there is a slight delay for each keypress before you see the screen affected. But once you get your show running the picture quality is really very acceptable. I use it to watch my Chicago DVR in Phoenix. I have good cable internet on both sides. The 500 is connected over my N wifi. On the Phoenix side I use my iPad app to get my show running, but I watch it using a Roku 3 on my big screen. I would not want to watch the Superbowl this way, but for catching up on sitcoms - perfect.

This solves a great need and everyone should get one.

Much easier to setup and great features like having Netflix which I can watch movies and a remote control

Slingbox works great all over the world, no VPN required. Be aware, the iPad / iPhone app costs extra.

Works just as advertised. It actually works better than the direct tv cable it is connected to.

With the slim 500 box watching the favorite programs while overseas is GREAT...

Bought this initially since my brother in law never uses his awesome cable in his man cave . Took 20 minutes to set up, followed the simple promps and it worked great. Used it for ATT u verse with all the HBO/special channels. Clear and crisp channels. Tested it when I went to Japan recently at a friends house, perfect! Works great on iPhone 6, iPad 2, and air, as well as s MacBook Pro and dell laptop , free app to DL.

We bought this so we could watch TV while traveling domestically and abroad for work. We set it up easily and it works flawlessly. The picture is fantastic and the remote works the same as if we were in our own living room.

Works great from my computer or phone. Kids love it so I may have to build a Slingbox farm.
