The kit was not needed for my situation. However, it is part of the package when you purchase the dryer. Return was simple and easy.

Semi-rigid is an understatement. This vent hose is so rigid Indiana Jones could have used it to shield himself from a nuclear blast instead of that bobo refrigerator.

I'm not sure how much this costs, but its worth it. The higher temperatures that these new dryers generate, its wise to use this semi-rigid venting rather than plastic or the foil type.

While you won't spend much time looking at this behind your dryer, it's worth it to have the quality of construction back there. This is a well-built connection that should hold up for a long time and or multiple moves....

Totally worth a new one. Our old one was junk and banged up. The installation guys install this new one.

We were told we had to buy it, because Best Buy installers needed it. Installers noticed that it was too rigid and occupied too much space, so it wouldn't let them squeeze the dryer in the laundry space.

Good price for this product. One should never reuse dryer vent exhaust pipes if possible. This kit has everything you need and easy to follow instructions.
