I've looked at a lot of screen protectors. I like the Logitech iPad Air cover/keyboard and I like the Zagg iPad Air cover/keyboard. Both are great products. However, if you're not looking for a bluetooth keyboard, and you just want a great screen cover, than this is the cover for you. It comes in a variety of colours. I bought the Red cover. I like red. But, what's really neat, is its a product red, so the money raised, by purchasing the product, goes towards helping those with HIV/AIDs, which is a cause Apple really cares about. Apple makes two smart covers. They make the Smart Cover, which I bought and they make the Smart Case. The cover protects the screen. The case is a little heavier, and wraps around the entire tablet, protecting both the back and front of the iPad. Honestly, both are excellent products, and really just depends which you prefer. The Smart Case does cost a bit more, and the Smart Cover is less expensive, but both are quality products, designed for the iPad Air, by the company that designed the iPad Air. So, why are they smart? Well, every iPad Air has magnets built into the front of the iPad. The back of the iPad is aluminum, and thus also magnetic. The cover contains magnets, that allow it to firmly attach to the iPads screen and back. When the Smart cover is covering the screen, the screen turns-off, and the iPad goes into sleep mode. This conserves the battery life, and makes the battery last even longer. As soon as you open the cover, which opens like a book, the screen turns back on, right where you left it. But, it doesn't stop there. The cover has two creeses built into it, which allows the cover to fold into a triangular stand. This either allows the tablet to sit upright, at a slight angle, or allows it to be slightly elevated, the way a keyboard would be elevated, which is great for typing, using the on-screen keyboard. The creeses also allow you to bend back, the side of the case, so you can take photos with the rear camera. It does a really good job protecting the iPad. I have read reviews, of soime of the keyboard cases, actually, scratching the screen over prolonged use. So, while I like the idea of a keyboard screen protector, like the Logitech, Zagg, or even the Microsoft Surface Keyboard Cover, I dislike the idea of my screen being scratched. This cover does an excellent job protecting the screen. Now, that being said, this is just a screen protector. This will not prevent any damage from a fall. It does not cushion the iPad, in anyway. All it does, it protect the screen. If you need more protection, you'll want to check-out either the Smart Case, or a more durable cases, such as the Otter Case. Recently, I bought my 4-year-old niece the iGuy case, for her new iPad Mini. The iGuy comes in a larger, iPad and iPad Air size too, and is great for little kids, who, because it offers a lot of padding, in a cute shape, that kids love. My older, 10-year-old niece, got the green iPad Mini Smart Cover, and she loves it. But, she's not as rough with her iPad, as her younger sister. Overall though, I'm very satisfied with this cover, and its perfect for my needs.

Snug fit and provides good protection. After a while, the spine seems to become a bit loose where it folds, but it is a minor annoyance. The bright color makes it very easy to find.

Easy to use just snap on and go.... helps to protect the screen from damage... can be used to stand I-pad upright on a table or desk.... inexpensive compared to some covers...

I bought this "case" because I knew I wanted something light weight that wouldn't add bulk and would be easy to clean, detach, etc. While this does just that, the magnet is a bit weak and I find that I take it off frequently when not using it as a stand because it flops open when I am using the iPad or it moves around too much when I'm holding it. The best feature is when it's closed and that I can use it to clean the screen. I'm sure there are better products out there. This one is a little too expensive for what it is. I'm currently looking for a replacement but would still use this if I were traveling and just needed something simple and light.

We own several iPad's. This has been the best case and we've tried several. It is light, fits snug, and protects the corners. We have a 4 and an 8 year old who are a bit rough with the tablets....and this case has protected well.

This cover was on sale at Best Buy so I snapped it up. Although it does not say so on the case, it fits the iPad Air 2 perfectly. Another thing that may not be clear from the description is that this is the (Product) Red version of the cover, and there is a tiny "(Product) Red" logo imprinted on the inside of the cover. The smart cover snaps onto the iPad Air 2 in just the right place. It could not be easier to attach. Unlike earlier versions of the smart cover, it does not have a metal "hinge," but a polycarbonate hinge, but it works just as well and is probably less likely to scratch the iPad. As a cover it stays in place when closed, and is the easiest way to turn off the device -- just flip the cover back on the device and it's off and locked. Turning it back on is almost as easy, although you have to decide whether to flip the case behind the ipad or take a second to fold the cover into a triangle shape to use as a stand. The bright red color makes the device easy to locate. The bright color goes really well with the understated silver of the iPad. The red is probably as close to pure red as you can imagine -- maybe a touch of orange in there as well. That can be a good or bad thing, depending on how important color is to you. I would've liked a darker shade of red myself. The case has a nice grippy texture on the outside, and a soft microfiber texture on the inside. The fuzzy side helps keep the screen clean and reduces the chance of scratches from friction, and the tacky side makes it easy to hold on to the otherwise slippery iPad. The two textures also make it easy to figure out which side is which in a dark room. The smart cover adds almost no bulk to the iPad at all. It does not protect the iPad from falls or rough surfaces, but it does make the iPad easy to turn on and off, makes it easy to stand the iPad up when you want to, and keeps the screen somewhat protected from things that brush up against the device. Some things I didn't like: The iPad is indeed slippery, and so I've almost dropped the thing on more than one occasion, even with the cover on. The cover can be floppy at times. The magnets that hold it onto the side of the device are very strong, but the magnets that hold the cover close are weak, so sometimes the cover comes open (but doesn't come off). There are no cutouts for the camera and microphone, so when the cover is flipped over the back of the ipad, you have to remember to fold it down a little if you want to use the camera or mic. Sometimes in the process of flipping the cover on or off or into the standing-up position, the cover becomes detached. Anyway, these flaws are what you accept in order to have a protective cover that is convenient, lightweight, and well-made. You just have to decide which is more important to you: having something lightweight and keeping the iPad's thin form factor, or having something that will protect your iPad from falls.

If you get an iPad and don't care about it, then this product is not for you. But for me, I want the thinnest case possible that will protect its screen. The nice thing about this smart cover is that it has been redesigned to not have any metal contact with you ipad. The old design did so and if any dirt or sand was between them (microscopic), they would scratch up your iPad's side over time. This problem is probably much smaller now. I do wish there were custom color options, I am using the black one with my gold ipad. The white looked too loud for me, and all the colored ones didn't work in my opinion.

When looking for covers for my iPad Air 2, I knew I did not want a keyboard option - I won't be using it for any hefty typing, and I'm fairly satisfied with how the onscreen keyboard works. I just wanted something simple, clean, and lightweight, and that's what you get with the smart cover. While I am a bit spoiled by the adjustable kickstand of the Surface laptop, the smart cover's stand features work fine. I will likely also invest in a protective sleeve for travelling (the smart cover only protects the screen), but this is exactly what I needed for using the Air at casually at home.

I have tried several after market covers by a variety of manufacturers and I just keep going back to this one. It is so easy to use and easy to take off that I have just decided this is the only way to go. Quality of workmanship is good. The one/off function works flawlessly and the cover is versatile enough for all my needs. The best part, for me, is the magnetic snap on feature. I use a keyboard so it's quite easy to take off the cover when I attach the keyboard.

Decided on the case that covers the back instead of just the cover for added protection. Glad I did! Great quality and was surprised to know it was genuine leather. Super lightweight and fit is just right!

I love the color and the fact that you can clean the screen with the cover! Also, the cover adds very little weight to the unit. The cover folds so you can sit the unit on a table or counter. Apple came up with a great design--the fact that the cover attaches to the unit seamlessly without having to line it up for a perfect fit is amazing!

Works better than the cover I purchased and used with my iPad 2. Stays attached. Folds out of the way, works as a stand and protects the screen.

I like the design of this case, but the inside cover leaves smudges on the screen. Otherwise, very useful stand configurations and lightweight.

I returned this item in exchange for the Smart Cover which provides less protection but is much lighter and easier to remove for purposes of taking photos/video and using FaceTime. If you are more concerned with protecting the iPad and don't mind the added weight I would recommend this instead. The Smart Cover functions more as a screen protector. Both items instantly put iPad to sleep when you close them.

I like that this cover is magnetic and self-sticks to my iPad. I also really enjoy the color and the softer, suede-like inside surface, which makes it very comfortable to hold. However, I find that this cover, unlike the similar cover for my old iPad 2, is a little harder to get to stay in a triangle shape for propping the iPad up to watch a movie, for example. It just seems to collapse much more easily than previous versions did. Ultimately, though, I'm pleased with this cover.

It won't keep it from getting all busted if you drop it, but, it will keep it from scratches when shoved unceremoniously into my satchel. works okay as a stand in landscape, but will only prop it strait up when reading a book, really need an easel for this if your wrists tire easily. Bought mine as an open box because I'm cheap, Whoever had it before must have chowed down a mightily greasy pizza before returning it beause the inside leaves lines across my screen. Oh well.

This is a fantastic cover. It's no different than previous models though, except for the size to fit the Air. The Red looks fantastic and holds up great. Easy to clean and love how the magnets stick to keep it in position when using it in stand mode. Only negative thing I can say is that it does not cover the back. That's by design though. You can always get a clear back cover by Rocketfish or others to go with this and it would be perfect. Again this is NOT a case, its a cover. It keeps it light and thin unlike most cases.

After owning the 2nd generation, 3rd generation, and the iPad Air, I have gone through many cases and covers and I always end up using the Apple branded covers. While this cover isn't as great of a design as the second gen leather cover due to its three sided triangle as opposed to a more stable 4, the cover does a great job with protecting the screen when the iPad isn't in use and is able to stand up the iPad when needed. The product is fairly durable and is still as bright as the day I bought it. Another nice feature is the microfiber backing which cleans the screen when attached.

Good protection for iPad. Stays on, easy to use and more substantial than earlier versions for earlier iPads.

This product feels amazing in your hand and its fits my iPad perfectly. It is well worth the price and its very durable. Love this product and love best buy.
