My original protection consisted of an Apple Smart Cover with a clear polycarbonate back. This actually worked well, but the polycarbonate back showed wear and tear quickly. So I purchased the Apple Smart Case reluctantly. What a "smart" purchase. The protection is 100% and the case looks good, feels good and easier to hold. This is what I should have purchased in the beginning but decided against because I did not want to spend the money. Lesson learned

I purchased this Smart Cover in black for my iPad Air 2. It fits my iPad nicely and puts it to sleep and wakes it when you close and open the cover. My main complaint is that the black isn't really a true black, it's more of a dark charcoal gray. Otherwise, it's a good cover that helps protect the screen when you're not using it while keeping a low profile. I wish there was hard shell case for the back of the iPad that worked with this cover.

I love the material, the color, and best of all the protection this cover offers to my iPad. The fit is perfect. It is well worth the price.

I love the color! The cover snapped on really easily and stays in place. It's light and doesn't detract from the look of the iPad Air.

The cover is attractive and fits well, with one exception: the camera hole is a bit off and blocks half the lens. I bought this as an open box item, and I know now why it was returned! Sadly, I was overseas when I ordered this and was way past the return window when I finally got to try it out, so I guess I'm stuck.

Well made and we liked that it turned off the device when closed but our son who only has use of 1 arm was not able to keep it attached to his i-pad. Hate that it was so expensive and did not completely cover the i-pad as well as turn it off. We had to go back and purchase the case that does not shut it down and we have to remind him to make sure it is off when he is done with it.

This cover protects the iPad nicely, holds it up conveniently, and turns it off and saves the battery when closed.

Overall, the case is useful. It keeps dust and debris off the screen. Our main issue is with the headphone jack. The hole is not large enough to accommodate many of the headphone jacks, including the Dual Mini Headphone Jack Adapter. The plastic around the prong hits the case before the prong clicks into place. Because the contact is weak, the volume is very low and hard to hear over the jet noises, even at max volume. The slightest movement and there is a loss of contact. There is a crackling noise in the headphones and then the iPad speakers come on. Suddenly having "Let It Go" blaring throughout the cabin is a bit disruptive and embarrassing. We like the way the case is designed to make the iPad stand up. We wanted our children to be able to quietly watch a movie on the airplane, and both listen to it. Afterward, we spoke with a Best Buy representative. He tried it with several headphones and experienced the same problem. So we went to the Apple representative for advice. The Apple representative suggested we take it out of the case when we want to use headphones, which we found to be unhelpful. Seems as though the headphones with larger plastic protectors need longer prongs or the case needs a hole large enough to accommodate the jacks. Hopefully, the headphone manufacturers and the case manufacturers can get together to find a solution.

I like this cover not only for it's sleek, smooth design, but for the way I am able to close it down and also use it as a stand. The only thing I am unsatisfied with is that it disconnected from my iPad Air 2 when I was transporting it from one room to another, resulting in a drop to the floor. But, I should've had it properly closed and the accident wouldn't have happened.

This cover fits the front of my iPad perfectly, it is very lightweight & the iPad wakes up when the cover is opened. The downside is that this kind of cover doesn't protect the back of the iPad & using it as a stand is limited to just 1 position (I had another cover that was heavier, protected the whole iPad and provided several options for using as a stand).

Having a case for your iPad is almost a necessity if you plan on moving it. Although our iPad doesn't leave our house for the most part the cover keeps it clean and adds protection. I particularly like that it seems to be a well made product. This is our second one we have purchased. The other one is already over a year old and shows no sign of wear even though it is handled multiple times a day. Just wish there was more color selection.

The magnetic strip keeps easily in place and protects beautifully your iPad Air 2's face. One might think the price is steep...but replacing a damaged iPad won't be cheap. You can pay a little extra now...or more a lot later!

The cover is a great fit to the IPad Air. You can tell the cover is a quality product right out of the box. The front cover is a leather material and the back is a rubberish material that is rather thick. It will do a great job protecting the back case of the iPad. Access the the controls is good, and their is an open port to access the charging port. The only downfall I have with the case is minor but it is worth mentioning is the headphone jack opening is rather small. My headphones plug in no problem but my daughters headphones have a larger jack and they will not seat into the headphone jack all the way with the case on. All and all though, I think it is a good looking case that holds the iPad upright for watching a movies, and will provide good protection for a busy lifestyle.

The quality of this case is immediately apparent the moment you take it out of its case. I am a definite fan of the leather apple device cases. They are simply unbeatable in their perfectly streamlined fit and quality. I carry my ipad in this daily at work and it is an excellent and essential accessory for my ipad air.

The smart cover is a great addition to the iPad air. It provides protection and a versatile stand. The magnetic snap-on design is easily removed, but holds on nice and tight so it doesn't fall off. Found out after I got it that it automatically turns the ipad on and off when you open and close the cover (and yes, like a curious kid, I peeked under the cover while slowly lifting it to see if really worked).

I had the previous version on my IPad 2. It was good protection, but it deteriorated after 3 years and became unusable. I got this for my new IPad Air 2 as there is nothing as light or as functional. Apple has slightly modified the design over the 4-year old model. I am hoping they also improved the durability.
