I purchased on june 30th. Lock gets stuck and will not unlock. I have been locked out 3 times now. My kids have been locked out multiple times, and they all have their finger prints added. It chooses when to work.

Smart lock that will lock you out

I purchased this lock to replace a Yale Assure 2 that does not alert you when the batteries are low. Due to the layout of our house, this is an issue as there is no other way in when the lock isn't functioning.
Unfortunately, this lock is also no good. When not installed in the door, the lock cylinder turns smoothly. However, upon inserting it into the door, the lock cylinder freezes up consistently (tested with the door open). One out of every 10 operations is smooth once installed but otherwise it jams up. The lock is not powerful enough to overcome this which results in one being locked out. There is no obvious reason for this behavior other than the slight amount of play in the orientation of the lock cylinder potentially causing the issue. Other eufy locks have reviews that report the same issue so it must be a feature.

Non intuitive and deadbolt lock is too thick

I really wanted to like this door lock and somethings it does well. Finger print reader works well. It looks nice. But beating under the hot sun the keypad gets very hot to touch. The other gripe is it isn't intuitive to lock the door lock. It requires you to hold the check mark for 3 seconds which is annoying for guests as its people awhile to figure out how to lock. The other gripe is the deadbolt is much too thick so its constantly getting jammed.

If I could give it zero stars I would. This is the 2nd smart lock from eufy i have had in less than 5 years. 1st one stopped working. Bought a new one and it was working great, but in less than 2 weeks it locks, but will not unlock unless you have the key. Save your self the headaches. Just get a normal deadbolt. Also cant get a hold of anyone to help from the company

The fact that the top consumer publication rated the Eufy #1, I checked it out and made the decision to go with it. The features that appealed to me were that it was priced well below most other compaeable locks; no subscription is required; fingerprint sensor; and a rechargeable lithium battery. I am not the handiest, but was easily able to install my Eufy. My wife usually has problems with getting her fingerprints to read, but with the Eufy it was no problem. One of the negatives to many smart locks is battery life, especially with those that use standard disposable AA batteries. The Eufy uses a large lithium rechargeable battery. Supposedly it lasts a year, but time will tell. I think it will last longer than most. One word of caution, the only negative, is the Eufy E31 cannot be rekeyed to match your other locks, even by a locksmith. I will have to get a locksmith out to rekey my other locks to match the Eufy unless i decide to have multiple keys.
