I was excited to try this drone and compare it to others, especially since it comes in at a vastly lower price. Overall, I would rate this as a super nice entry-level drone. The drone comes in a nice form-fitted case that holds all the pieces nicely in place. The case has a nice all-around zipper with a handle, but no strap. However, it would fit easily in a backpack for outdoors travel. When I opened the drone parts I was struck by its similarity to high-end personal drones, both in size, shape and how it folds up. The drone runs on battery and comes with one battery and one charger. The remote is charged with a USB-C cord. It would be better if it had a second battery AND a second battery storage slot for those times you take the drone outdoors away from your home. Setup was detailed both on the remote screen and in the booklet. I started with the booklet instructions, but found it hard to keep my place, so I switched to the remote and quickly was able to orient the drone and lock in gps. It was difficult to see the colors of the flashing LEDs outdoors in the daytime, but I found that putting a white sheet of paper on the ground helped me see them. Flying the drone was pretty much like other drones, same controller movements and so forth. I did find that the rotors were a bit noisier and the hovering in the sky was not as smooth as it could be. The pictures and videos were alright and saved to the SD card. I had some trouble getting the SD card out as the card went in pretty far, but using an eraser to push it really helped. Again, this is a great entry-level drone! Allows newcomers to start without investing thousands of dollars and has what you need.

This drone is an absolute blast to fly and is honestly so much tougher than I could have ever expected. How do I know how tough it is? Well, I will get right down to business and tell you. Due to my user error and lack of judgment, I crashed this into the side of my house… twice, with hard falls from the crash from 6-8 feet up that resulted in it landing on the concrete. Trust me, I felt like a big dummy, and this drone–– praise be–– survived my carelessness! And not only did it survive, but I didn’t even have to replace the propellers! I am so beyond impressed that I just had to come right out with that information to let you know that this is indeed super tough! But now onto more info. This is a great package for a drone. I love the included hard shell-soft exterior carrying case that is complete with preconfigured slots for the main components of the drone and even a handy and generously spacious zippered section for additional accessories like a wall adapter for your charging cable or even a portable power bank if that is how you decide to roll! The drone comes with extra propellors, screws, a screwdriver, and even extra controller toggle sticks for those uh-oh moments that come along. The setup was pretty straightforward with the included instruction manual, and I didn’t have too hard of a time getting it up and running! I just should have done my first flight in an open area like a field and not on my back patio… Yup. I know. I am just that smart, haha! As for flying the drone, after toggling off the beginner mode, this is quite the acrobatic and fun little drone to fly for the price! One of my favorite parts about it is that it does not get excessively loud like some larger commercial-sized drones do, so I felt perfectly comfortable flying it around the park with my family and did not feel like I was disturbing anyone when it was up high and flying. I got about 25 minutes of total flight time with 15 minutes of it being recorded in 2.7K 30 FPS video, so I feel very satisfied about that! I am further satisfied that basic chargers and power banks work for charging both the controller and the drone battery. It does not require a high-wattage power delivery charger, nor does it use proprietary cables. Just good ol’ USB-C charger connections! Some further info you might like to know, with some of this being obvious to people who really know drones well but perhaps not to others. First of all, this is not a toy. I would not recommend giving this to a child or irresponsible teen (or intoxicated uncle) as this is a legitimate drone that could cause injury, potentially lethal, in the right circumstances, and it is also able to fly high enough to interfere with air traffic and get you into massive legal trouble. So, fly responsibly. Next, this is not a “smart” drone. This means that it is not covered by sensors that will rescue you from your own carelessness. This does not have object avoidance or collision protection. What it does have are the basic and very handy features of being able to auto-land, return to home (where it last took off from), and it has a fail-safe power off feature on the physical controller that lets you completely kill power to the drone and let it fall back to earth in a dire circumstance. This also does not have any onboard gyroscopic camera stabilization capability. So, if you are recording in windy conditions or with a lot of movement happening to the drone, your footage is going to look choppy. Finally, a random piece of info is I had great luck with it with my very high capacity Sandisk 256gb micro-SD card. The recordings look great! Overall, I am super happy to have this drone and glad to have it in my repertoire of fun electronics. I highly recommend you give it a try and hope you enjoyed the review!

I'm brand new to drones and I appreciate that it doesn't feel overly complicated to get off the ground. But I'm definitely a beginner, and obviously just having a beginner drone doesn't magically make you a pilot. It takes practice. The drone itself feels pretty solid in hand and it included extra props and bits. The controller, though, feels budget-friendly. It seems to be made of the same lightweight plastic as the drone itself - and the LED screen is nothing to write home about. It's very much entry-level, which is fine, just not premium. Camera control is pretty basic – think more of a switch between angles and zooms than smooth, fine-tuned adjustments. Good for getting the shot, maybe not for super cinematic stuff right out of the gate. The app you need to run it is actually well put together and easy to figure out. No complaints there on the usability front. One thing I did notice is it seemed to chew through my Pixel 9's battery pretty quick, so keep that in mind. Overall, for the price, it feels like you get a good amount of bang for your buck and a solid way into the hobby. If I stick with the drone hobby, I'll probably look at upgrading down the line. But for now, the P30 Pro is a great intro, and I'm looking forward to putting in the flight time and getting better with it.

Snaptain P30 Pro 4K is a gateway drone. As my first drone, this thing has been a blast. My neighbors have been watching me fly the drone and I even have several folks in the neighborhood wanting to pick one up. This is a cool device. I wish video were more stable and that the connection to the drone worked better at long ranges, but, all-in-all, I really like the drone. Setup: Snaptain gives you a case, the drone, battery pack, battery charger, the flight controller, and extra propellers. The included manuals help walk through first time set up and calibration of the drone. With full batteries, I was up and flying quickly. Experience: Controls are good. It took me a bit of time to get used to the sensitivity of the controls. Out of the box, the drone is set in “beginner” mode which greatly caps the maximum flight distance. Eventually, I turned that beginner mode off, but with any breeze, the video stream to my phone would cut out relatively quickly. With any breeze, the video quality of my recordings was rough. There is little in the way of image stabilization, and it shows when watching playback. Flight time lasted about 30 minutes a charge. The A.I. features worked well, but occasionally the drone would lose the tagged subject. Conclusion: I recommend this drone. This drone is a blast to fly. As someone who has never had a video drone before, it was super simple and intuitive to fly. I had a lot of fun flying over the roof and around the house. It has limitations in video stability and range of flight, but as my first drone, I really like it. My biggest disappointment is that I wish the drone came with more batteries. Once I get the drone flying, I do not want to stop and forget about the battery until the app starts beeping at me. I plan on picking up another battery asap. I know some people might be more harsh about the flight distance and the app ability once the drone gets too far away, but I really like this drone. It is perfect for beginners or kids. 4.5/5 Would recommend.

Pros: easy to fly, connect, durable, fun., compact. Camera quality Cons: connection drop, battery length. From setup out of the box it was very simple and pretty quick to get flying. It comes completely together with the exception of screwing on the controller’s sticks. Battery was almost fully charged so it didn’t take long to complete. App is easy to use for the most part. Connects via WiFi direct to your phone. Controls are very easy to use and get use to. Once you make changes to the settings, you can fly this pretty far and high, it comes programmed for beginners and limits height and distance. Pics and video are beautiful, the quality is great. My son and I both look turns to compare notes and we agreed how easy it was and how fun. We got it to 380’ high and only about 500’ away (we’re still getting use to it and didn’t want to risk it being out of sight”. Packs up easily, charges fast (though I’d recommend getting a 2nd if you can an to have fun longer at one time. Pretty durable too. I first tried it in the house because the weather had been bad (yes my wife was not happy). I crashed it a few times and the rotors kept spinning (didn’t know how to stop it at that point, there’s a button) and the blades didn’t damage at all. I was for sure one would have been broken or cracked. No the not so good. There’s not much to mention, but a few things that kept it from 5*. The battery didn’t last 30 min as stated. It gave battery low errors at 15 min so we brought it back and let it continue till it landed itself at 21 min. There’s still 1-2 lights lit on the battery which is maybe for reserve to get it back so maybe it “lasts” 30 min, but I’d say real operational time is about 20 min. Why I recommend a 2nd battery. The other is that multiple times throughout trying it, it lost connection with phone WiFi connection. So more camera or phone functions, but drone still worked. Need to try to change so WiFi setting to see if it’ll help, but haven’t had the time. Realistically I’d give this 4.5*, but it’s not an option. Only a couple small things knocked it down, but I couldn’t give it 5* with the connectivity issue and almost half life of promoted battery life. I still think it’s fun and if you’re in the market for one I recommend it. I’m not sure how it compares with other models in regards to price but I think it’s worth it if you’re going to use it a lot for fun.

My kids and I have been having so much fun using this drone since unboxing it. My son had gotten a similar drone for Christmas and we ran into many user issues revolving around operating and even landing the drone. This drone has given us no issues of the sort. This drone provides 4k video, (and should be used with an accompanying SD card). The quality is beyond what I expected and does not jitter at all. It has been a very fun toy for us to use while making family videos. Uploading from the SD card is very straight forward. Navigating with this drone is very easy too. The remove control is very responsive, the joysticks are built very thoughtfully allowing the user to know exactly what type of responsiveness to expect. The joysticks snap back into place too which is a very nice touch. The range of this drone is amazing too. We live near some open wooded area and had no issues when testing its length or returning it to us once airborne. In summary, this is a great middle of the road drone with 4k video capture capabilities. Unboxing was very pleasant as it was all nicely and neatly packed into a canvas carrying case. Navigating in flight was very easy to understand and utilize too. Well worth picking up.

The P30 Pro Drone is lightweight and sturdy. Easy to setup and simple to follow the instructions provided. The battery requires at least 30mins to completely charge. Love the features..GPS making it easy to control, different flight modes which are unique that adds depth to your videos, the camera images are clear even from far distances. Nothing negative to say at this point about the product. The overall performance so far has been pretty impressive!

After being fairly new to drones, finding one that is a good starting point is not easy. Balancing features with price is easier said than done. This particular drone is a good starting point for those reasons and one I will point out later. First off, this drone comes with everything to get you up and running in short order. This may be an entry level drone but it has all the features you would want including a 4K camera, GPS positioning and a feature rich remote. To get things going, make sure you charge the battery and the remote. Follow the setup instructions to get the remote paired with your phone and connected with the drone. This took less than 5 minutes. I would recommend reviewing all the setting before you start flying and when you start to fly, make sure you are in an open area especially if you are new to flying a drone. I did not do this and crashed the drone twice! What I can say is no damage not even to the propeller blades and once I was in an open area it took some time but I was getting better. A word of caution, this is a lightweight drone so on a windy day you may have issues with control. It does a pretty good job of self stabilizing but use caution. The remote keeps you posted on the drones status including speed, battery strength and a host of functions.

This item was easy to get set up and get off the ground. It has easy to use controls, all you have to do is follow instructions. The distances it will travel are limited. It kinda hits an invisible wall and won't go further. The "return to home" feature is nice even if it isn't spot-on accurate. Be careful flying too close to people, including yourself. The camera works well except you can't record directly underneath where you are hovering, you have to move away from the target to view it. I'm happy for this first time drone but am keeping my eye open for one that has a better range.

If you have a few dozen flight hours of prior experience with a beginners level drone and are looking to step things up, I’d consider this your perfect match. This drone has 80% of everything you would look for in a drone. Nice control, easy to use, very good picture quality, enough range, and other additional features once you have tested it. What is it only lacking: image stabilization, obstacle avoidance, and additional battery time. But for this price, I think this drone provides good value. If you can afford an extra battery for $50, that should probably do. If you are a professional videographer this one is probably not the best choice, otherwise great value.
