I recently bought the S5C Elite drone for a family gathering, and as someone who’s never owned a drone before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Thankfully, this drone made my first experience surprisingly easy and fun! Setting it up was straightforward, and the controls were simple enough for a beginner like me to figure out. It took a little practice to get the hang of flying smoothly, but once I did, I was impressed with how stable it was—even with a bit of wind. The camera quality was better than I expected, and we got some great shots of the family cookout. The battery life isn’t super long, so I’d recommend grabbing an extra battery if you plan to use it for extended periods. But overall, the S5C Elite was a great buy for the price. It’s beginner-friendly, durable (yes, I crashed it a few times), and perfect for capturing fun memories. If you’re new to drones and want something easy to learn, this is a solid choice!

Battery life gives me around 25 minutes per charge, which is more than enough for casual flights and quick video shoots. The foldable design makes it easy to toss in a backpack, and the remote feels like something out of a sci-fi movie — intuitive and responsive. For under $300, I got a cinematic view of the world I never thought I could afford. It’s more than a toy — it’s an experience.

If you have no knowledge of drones and are looking to get a present and be the cool gift…look no further! The Snaptain SC5 Elite has a lot of features, can be flown with only the included remote, remote + smartphone, or smartphone only. This versatility means no restrictions for getting up and flying quickly. If you are looking to get into drone flying and don’t want an expensive overhead…this drone is good enough for you to determine that. Two reasons for the 3 Stars instead of 5 has to do with the drone drift and max distance. Some of this just has to do with the extreme light weight (145g according to specs) so it is going to get pushed a little easier and some drift should be expected. However, in my flying sessions the wind was not a factor and I found the drone to drift quite a lot. It seems to have a hard time when input has ceased after flying in a drifting pattern and trying to change direction. It will change direction, but it takes a very long time to do so, It is typically easier to just stop. However, this also poses an issue (same when just flying in a straight line), when canceling forward input, the drone will air break, but also continue moving in the same direction, then slowly begin to reverse. Again this is after no input has been given. It takes some time to get used to it and anticipate these extra maneuvers, but this also means you need an extremely large open area free of trees and houses. The box states Ages 14+, I think you could go younger; especially if the kid likes to play Super Smash Bros. since the drone drift I find is similar to that game. Distance is said straight line 328ft and height is limited to 164ft, doing some math, it means at max height, max distance then is 284ft.. However, I find the drone begins to lose input at about 150 to 200ft. The remote will notify by beeps when signal has degraded, it also does so in the app. If you are at max height and flying away from yourself, you will reach the control limit range quicker. The drone limits its self from its height automatically and this barrier cannot be broken, however, distance from operator I found is theoretical and does not auto-stop the drone, as it just keeps flying on its own at that point. Any info in the segments below deemed negative are only meant to show the drone’s limitations. Remember, this is a toy and the features it offers are quite good. Please don’t expect qualities of a higher quality and subsequently a higher priced drone. Flight Time This is true to product info at 15 min and charge time is true to 160 minutes (~2.5hrs) @5v 2amp charger (I used a Samsung phone charger); manual states max is 5v 3amp with included cable. Video/Photo Quality This is a toy, that fact that it can do it is a plus, but don’t expect to get awesome shots. I used a SanDisk Ultra 32GB UHS-1 with write speeds of 100MB/s and a Samsung 32GB UHS-1 with write speeds up to 48MB/s. Both recorded the same quality of footage and both cards are well equipped to record at 1080p video with ease, but many of the videos had missing segments and were grainy. This is to be expected since the drone camera is not on a gimbal but a fixed arm that allows vertical rotation still but no stabilization. When the App is connected to the Drone the Snaptain E5C Elite model is shown in both image and name, but when not connectted the E20 is shown; there are navigation buttons that let you see other drones, but it does not change the video or guide. Controller: not so much a discrepancy but an omission that the drone can be flown with or without the included controller if a Smart Device is connected to the drone. Google Play Store states requires Android 4.4 or higher, but Guide states Android 8.0 or higher, my device used to test is running Android 11. The Snaptain SC5 Elite is a great starter drone or the "cool relative" gift and great for casual flying.

This drone is an awful excuse for a “good” by definition. I wouldn’t have paid a $1 for it if I got to use before buying. The camera quality, no exaggeration whatsoever, is worse than the most basic camera phone from 2005. Its so incredibly grainy and unclear that it almost seems they went out of their way to make it as bad as possible. I didnt even know cameras with this low of quality still existed. The app is absolutely attrocious. It routinely loses connection with the drone. It also forgets that you used the auto takeoff and won’t let you use the auto land. Or vice versa. The drone maneuvers well overall but that is only when the drone is actually able to connect to the controller. It also advertises 15-18 minute fly time which is just criminally false. I fully charged the battery and took it outside and got 5 mimutes of flight in my back yard flying no higher than 15 ft. I bought it because it had pretty good reviews but now I understand they must have been paid to lie through their teeth because this drone is nowhere as good as the other reviews make it out to be. Not even for a beginner. Because it just flat out doesn’t work. Most of the time. The battery packs are also suppsed to have an LED in them so you can see when they are charged, the batteries that came in mine do not have functioning LED’s so I cannot even tell when they arr charged if at all until I put it in my drone and see if it will turn on or not. TLDR: This is the most poorly manufactured oroduct I’ve ever seen. Any kind of product testing by Snaptain would have told them that thisbwas worthless.

Nice little starter drone. Very easy to operate it. Range and battery aren't all that great tho but it's for my 8yo son and it's perfect for him. Camera is good.

Everything is really good quality. It works really well, exactly what I expected from this drone. It takes some learning but putting it together was easy.

Excellent drone at a very good price, easy to use, sharp camera, good stability, incredible adventure companion for the city, the mountains, or the beach. I love my drone, for me it's a 10/10.

It’s not bad for a first drone, very limited range, extremely limited altitude, maybe 75 feet. Battery last about 11 minutes in flight. Strong, yet this is PLASTIC, so beware! Ove flowj this dsily for 2 weeks now, its pretty fun for a low budgettt low range pocket drone. $70ish bucks? Worth it. Just don’t intentionally slam it into things and it will last a while. Careful on the controller, it’s fragile. You could do worse. If you’re looking to FLY RIGHT NOW, you can easily drive to best buy and and be in the air in an hour.

Great product. Easy to use and safe for kids! It's been a crowd pleaser for sure! Even when it's hit obstacles it hasn't caused major damage or been damaged itself.

Not a bad beginners drone. Setup is fairly simple and instructions are helpful to aid in getting it flying for the first time. We got it for our 11 year old for Christmas and didnt want something super expensive and this is at the perfect price point. With 2 batteries you get a good amount of flying time and the camera privides good high resolution images and videos compared to others at this price point. Paired with a warranty for the inevitable accident, this is a good value.

We love this drone. It was very simple to set up and runs great! My fiancé had a blast flying it all around our house. It is absolutely worth the price and such a fun product!

So far so good, we took it out in the yard on the first nice day with no wind and so easy to use and manuever! The camera quality is fantastic for a budget drone! We are excited for the fun we can have with it this summer!

Nice compact size, its good for practice before getting some of the higher end ones, and a 15 minute battery is pretty good. Over all its a fun little quad copter that works great.

Pretty good, especially for the price the only thing for me that holds it back from the 5* threshold is the app for the camera. It's clean and works pretty well It's just a matter of find the right app was more difficult then I bargained for apparently this company has three independent apps for there drone lineup. 100% perfect drone for a beginner/youth that are just starting to get into drones.

Awesome drone for the price. It takes hits and falls and still works great. Not to great around a lot of dirt since the dust can get in the propeller motors but in all its fun and easy the maneuver. Only con i would say is its hard to find universal propeller replacements in bulk. They have them on Snaptain website but just a few. And motor replacements just to have in case. Mine are still working but I just like to have some on the side for the what if's. But can't find them anywhere.

It is a good beginner drone. It takes great pictures, but the video is not great. It is a beginner's level drone.
