Well done and unexpected.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not expecting any of the supplemental Star wars films to be much more than stop gap measures while we waited for the next real installment. However this one reminded us of the spirit of the original movie. The action is well done and CGI is excellent. And we care about the younger version of the characters. I assume they purposely made the entire movie in dark gray tones to evoke a mood and make us feel like it was an old fashioned black and white serial movie, but I found that distracting after the visual diversity and beauty of the original franchise.

Great addition to the Star Wars franchise
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw it in the movies in 3D. I know 3D is being fazed out by TV and DVD manufacturers and that's a shame. When done right like "Avatar" it's great. Unfortunately now most 3D is added in post-processing by computer and only adds some depth. It's also sad TV manufacturers are dropping the capability because adding the circuitry to a TV to show #D DVD's costs only a few dollars and doesn't need to increase the price of the set. As for the movie, it was a good addition to the Star Wars universe with a nice back story about Hans Solo in his earlier time before the Star Wars movies and shows how he met Chewbacca.

Episode 3.5
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I had heard about this film I wasn’t completely excited(despite being a SW fan boy) as a Han Solo prequel wasn’t something I cared to see made but never the less I was going to see it and it was fun. The film moves at a fair pace and we get to see some fun backstory we didn’t think we cared to. It was a great box office winner but we all know box office doesn’t mean a movies bad or good just how popular it is. The performances are good and as far as the blu Ray goes its solid and about what you’d expect from a film like this. Plenty of special features to keep you going.

Great side story
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know a lot of people did not take to Solo very well. But I have to say as a life long Star Wars fan, I enjoyed this side story. Especially because it was about one of the main characters in Hans Solo from the originals. If you watch and read everything Star Wars then this movie will help you understand Hans Solo a little better. By no means is Alden Ehrenreich, Harrison Ford and that is my only tiff with this movie. No one can replace Ford but I don't think Alden Ehrenreich was a close enough resemblance. Other than that the story is still one I enjoyed thoroughly and would recommend to any Star Wars fan.

||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.excellent SW back story on how Han meets chewie, Lando and Millennium Falcon. Disney didn't completely dissolve long established story of how Han "saves" chewie from an imperial prison camp while being enlisted in the imperial navy. also keeps legend of Han winning the falcon from Lando in a card game. Nice throwback to include the planet Mimban from the very first SW non movie novel from the early 1980s, Glover made an excellent young Lando (Billy D Williams) but Young Han actor, despite good imitations, was not as believable as a young Harrison Ford, IMO

Great picture quality both with BlueRay and airpla
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to add the movie to my children’s StarWars collection and do spend the extra few dollars for the DVD/Blue Ray + digital. I wish I did it years ago with the others movies.. With digital code you own it and can what it anywhere you have wifi. If you’re no going to have access to WiFi download the movie onto your device. Best Buy matched Targets price on the spot. Pulled up Target add and no questions and I paid the same price as Target. Best Buy, always had great knowledgeable customer service and I enjoy shopping there.

A Fun Romp Through Han And Chewie's Early Days
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This being a Star Wars entry, your either interested in this retro told tale in the series, or your not. I personally like space soap operas and Start Wars in general. I am pleased to report this is a fun adventure film and that I really liked this entry in the series... especially upon the second viewing which was in 4K HD. The clarity of the picture and the special visual and sound effects really shine in this format. If you are a Star Wars fan, be sure to purchase this film in its finest possible presentation: 4K Ultra HD!

Can't Please Fan Boys and Fan Girls
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure why people say this is a bad movie? It was a decent movie, and acting was well done all around. Maybe the back and forth at the end could have been tightened up a little bit. Almost didn't buy this movie because I heard it was bad, but that wasn't the case at all.

Not great, but still Star Wars fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I understand this movie has a very divided base. Some people hate it and others like it but I feel the hate is unjustified. Some people fail to remember how cheesy some of the original movies were, or how absolutely cheesy the prequels were at certain points. That said if you watch this as a sci-fi caper flick that happens to involve characters from Star Wars, you should enjoy it. And no, he's not Harrison Ford...but there were more than a few moments where he really feels like Han Solo, and that's all that matters.

Unnecessary But Still Good Star Wars Film
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this movie because I got to see things that was only hinted about in previous films. That's the appeal of the "Star Wars Story" film series. We get elements that we don't necessarily need to enjoy the main series but they fill in some gaps. It's not quite as good as the stellar "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", but make no mistake that if you want a fun ride, then look no further. "Solo" may not have been necessary, but the folks at Lucasfilm still did a good job of providing fun entertainment for all to enjoy.

A predictable but incredibly fun adventure
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While Solo doesn't exactly have a groundbreaking story, I still found it to be a really enjoyable film that has a lot to love for any Star Wars fan. It definitely tries to capture an old-school spirit of adventure, which really works in its favor. Alden Ehrenreich somehow managed to sell me on the idea of seeing a younger Han, and Donald Glover absolutely killed it as a younger Lando. There are also plenty of bonus features here, which is great for anyone interested in getting more insight into how the film was made.

Enjoyed movie, 4k a little bland
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked it. I love Star Wars, but I don't consider myself a fanatic. Watched all the movies, but not a part of the Star Wars universe, so can't remember everything, so I found it interesting to learn about Solo's beginnings and how he came to be. Kind of leaves some storylines open for possible other connections in other movies. Being 4k, it just didn't pop out, kind of soft looking to me. I didn't get that breathtaking wow from either the 4k or HDR like I do with some other 4k transfers.

And unnecessary but enjoyable movies
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first heard that Disney was going to make this movie, my first reaction was, why? But after the success of Rouge One, I had a little more hope that this movie would prove to me that that gut reaction wrong. It kind of did, and didn’t. While I walked out of the theater entertained, I never truly felt the movie justified it’s existence. Although I still bought it, because in the end, it’s just entertainment, it didn’t ruin my childhood. And neither did the Last Jedi, but that’s another review.

Good but not great film.
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a hardcore SW fan, so i admit to being a little biased. I enjoyed Solo, but didn't think it was anything special. The story is fine, but is a little boring at times and kind of drags in a few places. I really like the Steelbook packaging though. The extras are pretty good, some making of and behind the scenes things. A round table with the actors and latecomer director roundtable that was rather eh. Overall, not bad, but not a masterpiece either.

I liked it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Missed seeing it in the theater when it came out, but did notice the bad reviews. Finally watched it "On Demand" and was scratching my head over the bad reviews. I thought it was a good Star Wars pre-quell about Han (thankfully, no stupid Jar Jar Binks characters) and immediately bought it. I've since watched the Blu-Ray at home twice and still enjoyed it.

Fun Star Wars movie
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know this movie had mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it. It was a fun adventure film withing the Star Wars universe. I really thought Alden Ehrenreich did a great job as Han. He really captured his movements, mannerisms and even voice to an extent. Donald Glover also portrayed a young Lando very well. It was a non stop adventure ride that felt as though is was in the universe of Star Wars and well worth the watch.

A great movie
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solo is just a fun movie full of humor and action. The film’s focus on a single character’s story is a good change of pace from the fate of the galaxy happens in other Star Wars films. We are more focused on how Han Solo will survive then if good or evil will win out. In fact the movie has a good collection of characters who are in a moral gray area which when compared to the rest of the series strengths and adds depth world.

Underrated film
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solo: A Star Wars Story. One of the most underrated movies in recent memory. It makes me sad that this movie didn't take off as it should've. I don't think it has anything to do with another "Star Wars" movie. I think that ultimately it didn’t get the respect of others because the studios didn't market it nearly as well as others in the past plus, it released around the same time as Avengers: Infinity War, Incredibles 2, Deadpool 2, etc. So sad.

Not your typical SW movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. And that's a good thing. Don't expect Skywalker saga level direction at least when it comes to the PT or OT. You won't find it in this movie. Perhaps where they went wrong (behind-the-scenes issues aside) is that they tried to fit too much origin story in this movie so it felt rushed. But what do I know. I don't work in that industry and never will. Bottom line is it's a fun movie, it entertained me, and that's really why we watch movies like this, right? Right.

Its Ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Considering myself a fan to the extreme (first movie i saw at my 4th bday in5/26/79, i know a lot of you are saying 77 but it was commonaly rereleased the followimg two years. My biggest feat was what ultimately played out on screen: you cannot replace a character so intertwined with the guy who originally played him and expect it to work. It was doomed from the start but I'll still play it before A Phamtom Menace. PS: A train in space? Why?!?!
