Don't believe the naysayers. This movie is a worthy installment into the Star Wars universe. Alden E as Solo grew on me. You can actually see a bit of the essence of the Han Solo that we know and love peaking through, and the story gives ample surrounding characters from which you can see the familiar character evolving and adapting from. I wish that this had done better in the box office, as I would love to see how the character develops and grows. Technically the presentation is dark at times, so you will want to have the lights down low, or better yet, turned off. The sound is active across all channels, however the Dolby Atmos is not utilized to the extent that I would like. HDR is present, but nowhere near reference level, leaving those with HDR capable displays with HDR-esque images which border upon that of being slightly muddled and grey. Over all, this is a worthy title to add to any collection. Not reference quality, but a fun ride!

I know what fans are thinking: Did we really need a Solo movie? I could say the same thing about needing a Rouge One movie as well, but Solo: A Star Wars Story wasn't a bad movie. What was great about Solo was that it was a fun adventure. I thought Alden Ehrenreich made a great younger Han Solo, but obviously, the person who stole the scenes was Donald Glover's portryal as Lando Calrissian. Woody Harrelson was also great as Tobias Beckett, a mentor to Solo, Emilia Clarke played Qi'ra, a love interest to Solo. Paul Bettany played Dryden Vos, the villain. The main fault of this movie lies with craming almost every single lore about Han Solo into one movie. It's one thing learning how Han met Chewbacca or how he got the Millennium Falcon, but some of his lore could have been in another movie. It's also a tad predicable because of that as well. Overall, Solo: A Star Wars Story is still entertaining for those looking for something less serious.

Movie is perfect for 4k the extra detail is really noticed in the darker scenes
