Good Movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure exactly why the movie was panned by the public. Being Han Solo's origin story, viewers should've expected the story to tell how he becomes friends with Chewbacca, meets Lando, comes across the Millennium Falcon, and how he manages to make the Kessel Run. The movie was actually pretty good, touching upon all the above points, as well as how he comes across his weapon of choice and how he becomes a galactic criminal. I especially liked the train action sequence, and the cameo at the end was an unexpected surprise that led me to believe they studio was hoping to expand on the story if it did well. Overall, an enjoyable movie.

Come on... it's about Han!?!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although, clearly not the best movie in the Star Wars family, it's fun, it provided alot of backstory on Han and most of all- it entertained everybody! If the movie was a flop at the theaters thats because of the IDIOCY of SW 8 ( no I refuse to give it any props!!!)... There are way too many people STILL upset about the terrible plot and confusing decisions made with our beloved characters. I personally loved this movie! Have seen it several times and everyone has enjoyed it. Come on, it's about everyone's favorite galactic pirate scoundrel !!! Go buy it, you, your friends and family will enjoy it!

Solo!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, how much can you say about this? You either liked or hated the movie and probably will like or hate the DVD. For me, I enjoyed the movie and the disc. My only "complaint" that I hope Disney eventually fixes is the amount of 'extras' that are included -- I would rather have more interesting behind the scenes or missing scenes than audio commentary, etc. I was slightly bummed that the blu-ray did not also include a DVD, but it DID have a digital download that is iTunes redeemable, and not one of those stupid streaming services that will be gone in two months. But anyway, the point is, if you liked the movie, you will like this.

4K movie
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st 4K movie bought for my new audio/video setup. 4K movie is dark making it hard to see a lot of the backround. Reset the brightness on TV which helped a little. Standard blu ray disc looks just fine.

It's Han Solo Only Younger And Not Harrison Ford!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think there is too much negativity and fake outrage toward the latest Star Wars movies. Maybe Last Jedi was a bit of a let-down but don't let that keep you away from this gem. This was a very fun, heartfelt and well made Episode in the Star Wars franchise. I was 10 when Star Wars first burst upon us! If you were alive in 77 you know what a huge thing it was. For a young boy it was literally life altering!! If you're a Troll and a Hater and looking to find fault with this movie, you'll find it. If, however you are a true fan you will enjoy this for what it is …. A fun chapter in your favorite Galaxy Far Far Away...…….

more fun than you might think
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie in the franchise was a lot better than I thought it would be. Especially after the last couple of films, which weren't bad but should have been better. Solo was a fun movie with good action sequences and the transfer looks good. The biggest problem for me was the actor playing Han. Not that he wasn't any good, just the fact that the character of Han is so glued to Harrison Ford and it's hard seeing anyone but him playing that part. That's no fault of this actor it's just the way it is, at least in my opinion. Definitely worth watching and of course owning on 4k. On a side note the young Lando was pretty well played.

Pretty good Star Wars story
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually really liked the movie,as it was an origin story for Han Solo and how he met Chewbacca & Lando, and how he ended up with the Millennium Falcon.I don't get all the hate for the movie. Some really nice action sequences, and it also opened up the Star Wars universe even more.I actually think it could have been longer to be honest with even more story. It was certainly better than The Last Jedi, which I still enjoyed despite being a tad bit weird. If you love Star Wars, definitely give this a watch.

Pretty good movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After the stinker of the Last Jedi, a lot of Star Wars fans rightfully were hesitant about this movie. I didn't go see it in the theaters (first time ever for a Star Wars film since the original release of Return of the Jedi). But on to the movie. It was pretty good. It wasn't great. There were some confusing aspects. But it is a good movie. Have watched it a few times now and there are a lot of cool references in there and it answers some questions about Han and Chewie, but leaves a lot to be answered in a never going to happen sequel. Plus the disc has a digital code so no need to lug around your blu-ray player!

A/V leaves a little to be desired
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the movie, but the picture and sound on the Blu-Ray left a little to be desired. The movie was dark in theaters--darker than intended, I learned. Apparently projectors were ill-equipped to project the movie the way it was intended, and I thought there would be a more noticeable difference on the home release. It's a little better, but not MUCH better. Additionally, the sound mixing was a little front-speaker heavy, and had a low native sound setting. I had to crank my speakers up higher than normal for a quality experience. For a moment, I thought it was my system, but it works JUST fine with most other movies.

Great heist movie, ok Star Wars movie.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solo is a fun movie if you aren't expecting/ demanding the grandiosity of the tradition SW movie. As a standalone it shouldn't feel as big. With this point of view, Solo is fun. As a heist movie with double crosses and close calls, it is a lot of fun. Like Rogue 1, it makes the mistake of trying to fill in too many gaps from the saga (no one needs to know how Han got his last name, and no, it wasn't passed down from his family). The actor playing Han is not Harrison Ford, but by the movie's end, he is Han Solo - young and unseasoned, but Han is there. The steelbook itself is an excellent display of an enjoyable movie.

Beautiful Steelbook for a Surprisingly Great Film
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I heard they were making Solo without Harrison Ford, I thought "yeah right... good luck!" Then we started hearing about all the problems on set, and then the change of directors and I assumed the film was doomed. But boy did Ron Howard pull it out. This was a fantastic film and a great addition to the SW universe. The scene where Han meets Chewie was worth the cost of admission below. BB's steelbook is great and looks good when lined up with the previous SW steelbooks. I wish they had offered a BD-only version like hey did with TLJ, but whatever. Still glad I bought this.

Hans down, an okay movie....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie takes place before the huge hit, episode IV. There is a fair amount of action and the actors are quite good. If you have all of the movies in the saga, you should have this one too. May the......nah.

Better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Better than expected - that's the answer I got when I asked people who saw the movie what they thought. Based on all the negative press that preceded its release, I was not optimistic but decided to check it out before it left our local theater. And like them, I thought it was better than expected. The actor playing Han does a decent job considering how big the shoes are that he's expected to fill, the story does decent fan service without going to overboard but in some places is predictable, and while I wasn't on the edge of my seat, it did hold my interest and for those reasons I opted to buy it.

Solo is A Keeper
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The beginning of the movie was disappointing. There must have been a problem with the budget. I was not expecting to see a marionette, yes a puppet used in a movie of this lineage. I saw the cables. The movie redeemed itself by the train scene, which followed. The pacing of the movie varied as the story is developing. My opinion this movie although rough lives up the other “Star War” adventures. It was nice to know how Hans met Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and how “The Millennium Falcon” was obtained.

Great fun movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed Solo: A Star Wars Story. Being a huge fan of Star Wars films, I heard negative things about this movie, but they couldn't have been more wrong. It's fun, action packed, and brings me back to when I was a kid enjoying the original trilogy. Ron Howard did a wonderful job of taking over this film and creating something fun that I plan to watch many times in the years to come. The 4K blu-ray release is a nicely done, and looks great.

Similar in fashion to The Last Jedi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start by saying the second half of the movie was better than the first half. Just like The Last Jedi, you have to kind of wade through the first half with all its new age dialogue, settings, and themes till you get to the good stuff. There are select moments in the movie where the nostalgia kicks in but they are few. I did however like the characters as they are all well performed and definitely connected with their past iterations. Aside from my gripes, I did enjoy it and took me back into the Star Wars universe as the movie rightfully should. I am glad to add it to my collection.

Soso Picture Quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Both the 4K and bluray are really dark, as that was the intention of the cinematographer. Not the best choice as it takes away from the Star Wars feel. Not a bad movie at all, just an average one.

Star Wars Fatigue?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The common criticism recently is that Disney is watering down the Star Wars franchise by cracking out a new movie every year, some of which being unnecessary. This is one of those unnecessary stories, but that doesn't learn it wasn't a fun movie. I enjoyed several aspects of the film, and with the exception of the final twist not making sense in context of the overall cinematic canon, I consider this movie rewatch worthy. The will never be a Star Wars that lives up to the original trilogy... STOP looking for that. Just sit back and enjoy these enhancement stories for what they are.

Fun movie and fantastic steelbook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I assume when people are looking at these it's more for a review of the steelbook than the movie. This is a gorgeous steelbook and a worthy addition to the Disney Steelbook line! The movie itself is a lot of fun and easy to watch over-and-over, and the steelbook looks fantastic on my shelf! If you're a collector you know you want this already, so just go get it. If you're thinking about collecting---probably best not to start since it's addictive, but if you have to start somewhere this is a great place! Also the 4k looks terrific (of course)!

Fun Popcorn Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Real fanboys or anyone expecting high art will be disappointed by this film, but considering it was cobbled together from existing footage and reshoots after a directorial change over "creative differences," the movie comes off reasonably well. Alden Ehrenreich never fully sells me as a young Han Solo, but the movie resonates on some familiar chords that are alluded to in the original trilogy about Han, Chewbacca, and Lando. Sometimes it feels a little contrived (as if we must check certain canonical boxes), but all in all, an enjoyable 2 hours spent in the Star Wars universe.
