    My favorite Star Wars movie.

This is my favorite single Star Wars movie. There are plot holes, lots of darkness, gritty action, answers to questions we never asked. Everything that ALL star wars movies have. This movie ultimately explains what we all wanted to know about the Kessel run and parsecs. This movie missed its release mark and was overshadowed by moves that released at the same time but in my personal oppinion any real Star Wars fan should like this movie. PS: I love episodes I, II, and III as much as the rest of the movies and Jar Jar Binks is my bro.

It was an interesting story of the origin of Han Solo. Not the caliper of the Star Wars sequels, but still a must see for Star Wars fans.

I'm a huge star wars fan. Saw it in the theater with my kids and loved it. I was excited to see it again and bought the disc, Interestingly, some of my young sons gave up on it half way through and weren't as into it the 2nd time. I have to admit, I've put off watching it myself--though I was really excited. For some reason it isn't as gripping the 2nd time around as the other Star Wars movies and that bums me out to have to say. All the ingredients are there--great actors--but probably one that will get watched very rarely. But, if you haven't seen it, definitely watch it!

Probably not the strongest entry in the Star Wars collection of films but still a solid entry. The hardest part I had to overcome was believing the young Han Solo character was going to grow up into the one we know and love (or don't). Never a simple task to accomplish casting a young version of an established character and no exception here. I probably felt this was a three star movie up until the end, but without giving anything away, there is a little twist, or reveal, that shot it up a notch or two at the end. Hope they make the obvious sequel they set it up for.

    Unfairly maligned Star Wars one-shot...

Solo: A Star Wars Story is surprisingly entertaining, and it actually fits in pretty well with the established Star Wars universe. The action sequences are well handled, the character work is engaging, and even if you never cared where Han Solo got his name (and you shouldn't, actually), you will probably have a good time. The 4K disc renders a close copy of what was seen in the theater -- but sometimes scenes are a little too dark.

I really enjoyed this movie. I didn't bother seeing in theater but decided to pick it up when it came out on Blu-ray. I actually really enjoyed it. Thought the story was excellent. Only thing that bothered me was the actor playing Han. He was close to portraying him but there was just something slightly off. Maybe I shouldn't assume he would be exactly the same as this is set before the time when we know Han today and people do change. Overall I thought it was a good film. Sad that it won't have a sequel as it really set up well for more stories into Han's past.

This movie got a lot of hate. Some deserved some not. No one can replace Harrison Ford but the lead actor was enjoyable. Not the greatest of the series but still not the worst. Fun brain candy.

It’s okay. Not super memorable. Donald Glover as Lando is definitely the best part of the movie. I would definitely have preferred to see what the original directors would have done with it.

We go to movies for fun. Ron Howard makes great movies. This is a great fun movie! It's the first Star Wars movie where you forget you're watching a Star Wars movie...you're watching a heist movie with real characters from the Star Wars universe. If you expect the Force, huge explosions, and last minute rescues by the Jedi, you will be disappointed. Solo presents why that universe is the way it is and why that character became the man we met in episode 4. Very necessary part of the Star Wars canon and immensely re-watchable!

I've heard and seen mixed reviews on this, but like any STAR WARS fan, I had to see it for myself. Long and short, I was entertained, but I think they could have done a lot more with the storyline. It felt like they had a lot of content, but they didn't really develop the characters like I had hoped. It's almost as if they're planning a second installment under Solo so you can figure out what everything meant in the first movie, LOL. Either way, you'll be entertained--I just expected more from Disney, especially after what they gave us in ROGUE ONE...

Not that it’s anywhere near the best Star Wars movie. It’s somewhere in the middle. Entertaining and funny without being to dark. And it was nice to see the chewy and Han relationship

I know i'll get a lot of crap from "real" Star Wars people, nerds and geeks. They will say these are terrible, but i honestly love these side stories and this one was no different. I look forward to these and just love Star Wars movies and spin offs. Its a lot of fun for my family. My 10 yr old daughter loves and appreciates them too, and its just a great family time, just like when i was a young boy and saw Empire and Jedi at the movies with my mom and dad. Just a fun movie to us! Great picture and sound on our 4k!

A fun Star Wars film, but it spends a little too much time in fan service on Han Solo’s past. Find out where got his *spoiler* and how he met *spoiler* and over and over again. I don’t know if it is good or bad that we got to see so much of his backstory. In my option it would have been better if the spoiler facts had been sprinkled over multiple films, but given the box office disappointed Disney, maybe it’s a good thing they through everything in this film.

As a die hard fan of Star Wars, I was part of the fanbase that protested seeing the movie on the big screen based on opposition to the latest plot direction of the latest trilogy. Also, I considered the casting of Han Solo as taboo, based on the unforgettable and impressionable role of Harrison Ford's original. But curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to buy Solo in 4K! A great decision! This movie is awesome, especially in 4K with Dolby Atmos! Alden Caleb Ehrenreich and Donald Glover were both excellent choices for the main casts!

Not horrible but not at the quality level of what was established previously for this character. Excellent 4k transfer not so excellent take on Han.......by yourself.....Solo! (cringe)

I was hesitant to watch this movie for a few reasons. First, it seemed like it had some production challenges. Second, I'm not interested in prequel backstories. Finally, it underperformed at the box office. My bar for this movie was quite low, but I found myself enjoying it. I remained engrossed in it and my attention stayed on it rather than on my phone. This movie, with its focus on characters who are not Space Wizards, was really refreshing. This is a Star Wars movie that can actually stand all on its own, which is impressive.

Warning the Brigness levels must be adjusted correctly to see this movie correctly. When I saw it at the theater the exposure was high (particularly the jumps to light speed, and Mailstrom were nightly effected) its destroyed all the special effects. Watching this at home in a 4K theater will be a new experience. The bonus clips will add a new dimension to the movie. I hated this in the theater and loved it at home! Make sure your room is dark and enjoy it the way you can’t at the local movie theater.

Star Wars deserves to be the best 4K UHD

I was pleasantly surprised by the actual movie and, as usual, you've really got to see a movie for yourself to form an opinion about it. It's a little flat at times, but once the main characters start coming together, the movie turns into a great ride with a more wild west, gunslinger alternative story to the Skywalker dominated stories we've all grown up on. It's nice to finally see something not tied directly to the main films, as that's what's always made say... Star Wars novels, comics and games pretty interesting. Film aside, I felt the 4K UHD could have been better. It's definitely superior to the regular blu-ray, with it's expanded highlight range, rich, earthy color pallet, but from everything I've gathered the film was shot to be low contrast with somewhat grey black levels that can make it a pain for HDR TV's with lower nits to really tonemap properly. Unless you're really confident in your 4K TV's ability to handle HDR, you might find it too dim and dark to really see, and end up wanting to mess with your TV settings, causing more harm than good. It's an understandable aesthetic choice which does have merit, and is apparently true to the theatrical experience, but it doesn't necessarily translate to home theater in a particularly legible or exciting way. I was really hoping Solo, being the second Star Wars film to release on UHD, would turn out better than Last Jedi did in regards the black levels of the transfer, but it was more or less the same. I can say the HDR highlights, lighting, fire and lasers packed a bit more punch though. I can still enjoy both of these films on UHD, but I have to provide a fair warning.

A fairly divisive movie among Star Wars fans, but I loved it. A unique look and feel for a Star Wars film, it definitely leans more into the western-inspired stylings of Han Solo himself, and backs it up with a colorful, memorable secondary cast and wonderful effects and score. I do wish the front and back artwork of the steel were reversed, however, as having an off-center shot of the Falcon on front is a little....jarring?

4K Blu-ray is always the way to watch anything.. this is how you get the absolute best picture quality out of your TV and movie watching experience. Streaming 4K is about the equivalent to watching a HD Blu-ray. The streaming might have slightly more color very slightly and somewhat better resolution but to the eye on everyday content Blu-ray will always be the way to go
