Solo was a three star movie at best. Pretty cool back story going into the background of what made Han Solo the man he is. I understand it isn't Harrison Ford but the demeanor and rushed feeling is what killed the feeling that this wasn't a young Han at all. Lando felt a lot more true to the character. Insiders are saying this is the exact reason why there shouldn't be SW offshoot movies. Rogue One says otherwise. Oh, and the packaging for the steelcase was super awesome! Five stars on the design.

So I hear some fans thinking that this movie was not the Han Solo that we all came to love and admire over the years or Star Wars. I beg to differ. Having watched the movie many times now, I keep gaining a love for the story of Han Solo. By the way, the acting is very good and I did not miss Harrison Ford whatsoever. Fans need to sit back and watch these movies with the excitement in regards to the story telling and how entertaining they are. This movie meets all that and is extremely entertaining.

This may have been a polarizing film for some and a critical/box office flop but in my opinion, this is a fun film that meets expectations and fits the bill as a romp through Star Wars lore. We get to see the origins of some fan favorites as well as a few Easter Eggs here and there for the keen-eyed viewers. The 4K HDR viewing experience is exceptional as well as the audio. The steelbook is a great package that should fit well in anyone's collection. Highly Recommended!

Heard bad thing about this, so I bought it. I don’t regret it, it was well done, good action and story line. Han never really is solo though if you think about it

After Last Jedi, I just didn't have any interest in Star Wars anymore. I like Ron Howard's work so I thought I would give this a shot when it came out on home video, After a pretty tiresome car chase, like 10 minutes into the movie, it became pretty good. I really like Emilia Clarke's character and Donald Glover really delivered. Alden Ehrenreich as Solo made the part his own and I thought was very likable in the role. I kind of wish I had seen this in theaters, but you know after Last Jedi.

I thought this one was just OK... I was expecting more "enjoyment" from it but it seemed a bit flat to me. Also I didn't like the muted palette of the film... also some scenes were backlit too brightly #think the space yacht scenes# that I found it difficult to see the under-exposed actors. Come on, that a simple lighting/exposure issue to control, not sure why a decision like this was made in the first place??? Anyhoo, I'm starting to think the franchise has since long "jump the shark."

I really enjoyed this movie because it fills in the background for one of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe. Yes, it would probably have been better if a young Harrison Ford could have made this movie, but that isn't possible. So, enjoy Alden Ehrenreich as Han and Donald Glover as Lando and watch as they develop their friendship and compete for ownership of "the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy."

People will tell you they hate the new Star Wars movies because a) they changed the universe, or b) they didn't change the universe. Watch the movies, but do it with the awareness that the original trilogy wasn't perfect either. I loved Solo, even though I have criticisms of it, especially an ending reveal that I won't spolier here, though I think it one of the dumbest things to have come out of Star Wars since Jar-Jar Binks was made an acting Senator.

Solo itself is a fun adventure and origin film. The disc set (4K) is fairly good for a first release. There's a seperate disc dedicated to the extras, several of them ranging from several to twenty minutes. One thing to note is that the extras do not reveal anything about the change of directors situation that is unique to the production of this movie, so anyone that was hoping for some behind the scenes insight on that subject will be vastly disappointed.

I always go to Best Buy to purchase hard copies of movies because of the steelbooks. The steelbook makes it a little more collectable, otherwise I just get digital. I enjoyed the movie, I thought it was good. It didn't get the props it deserved after the backlash of The Last Jedi. I liked seeing the background of some of the original characters. It also included a surprise cameo of who I hope they involve in other movies that fall in the same timeline.

I’m a die hard Star Wars fan. Is was good we got another side story into the mix. More like an origins film. This movie did not get many good reviews but I’m thinking it’s probably the new wave of fans that are watching the new Star Wars episode 7 and 8 that probably never even seen episodes 4 to 6 that may not know the whole back story. I loved it. Story was good. Got me wanting more. There is still a big gap in the story line. Hope there is a solo 2!

I loved this movie and it's a tragedy that it suffered from the division that was created by The Last Jedi. While there is a few things through the story that I could have done without. Mainly how he came to have the name Solo. This is a fun movie with a lot to offer any Star Wars Fan. Although maybe it should have been called Lando because he steals all the scenes he is in and is absolutely wonderful.

the movie was ok, it did have a nice star wars feel. I was a little disappointed in the 4k version. The screen looked faded. Steelbook is really cool.

When the movie came out, I heard it did not get very good reviews. I am a big Star Wars fan (having seen the original back in 1977), and knew I was going to go see it anyways, but didn't expect much. Probably due to the fact that I didn't go into it with high expectations, I was actually pleasantly surprised that it was as good as it was. Also, I like the fact that it came with digital content, so that one can watch it via Vudu or MoviesAnywhere. So overall, I liked it.

Love the Star Wars franchise and Han Solo is actually my favorite character….so I was leary with this title; however, to my delight this movie was worthy of the franchise. Interesting and compelling background story and the actor does just to Harrison Ford’s take on the character. Well packaged, timely arrival. Always happy with Best Buy’s service.

It is almost like the five new Star Wars films are deliberately doing some avant-garde power move, perhaps to blow Europe and China out of the water with our American creative super powers. That said, the Solo movie, helmed by hit film vet Ron Howard, is a really nice addition. It also seems to have a depressing or dismal quality, like a tone. No, no, it's not bad film making.

The movie although lacking in a very structured and well thought out storyline is worth the watch for any and all of those who have enjoy the franchise. I must say though that having read most of the books and enjoyed so many years of the franchise...there were a few inconsistencies with some of the other works in the franchise which makes you set there and scratch your head wondering how they got that wrong when it has been part of the franchise for so long.

This is not the best Star Wars film, but who cares? It’s still a Star Wars movie about Han Solo in the early days. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I believe most true fans will. Those who look for problems or issues with movies may find plenty wrong, but if you’re the type to just sit back and take in the story the writer, director and actors are trying to tell, them pick this up today.

It is hard not seeing Harrison Ford as Solo but this guy did ok for a younger version. Still not the greatest Star Wars but it’s still entertaining.

I saw this movie when it was released in the theaters. I thought that it was a decent movie and provided the viewer with the history of Han Solo. Although the viewing public did not warm up to this movie as expected, I do believe one of the reasons is we were introduced to actors portraying roles that we, as viewers, were not used to as we grew up with Harrison Ford playing Han Solo in the Star War films. Again, decent movie and that's why I made the purchase.
