I know some people gave this movie a hard time, but I really enjoyed this film. It was a fun story that didn't take itself too seriously, and was great to see these characters back on the big screen. After dealing with the "The Last Jedi", it was nice to just sit and enjoy a fun Star Wars story. I'm still unsure why Disney mixes the audio on their 4K UHD discs so low, but just crank your speakers up a bit and it will sound great!

I am really happy that they decided to dig into the Seat Wars universe. I very much enjoyed the story of Han Solo in his younger days, finding out how he came to be who he ended up in Star Wars IV and beyond. A fun trip back through time. Wonderful casting all the way around. And, yes, it was definitely left open for another one or two. :-) If you are a fan of IV, V, VI and the newer releases, I think you will like this offering.

Good Star Wars story/movie. Once you get past the fact that you’re not watching a young Harrison Ford the movie gains its legs. It’s pretty action packed and keeps you engaged throughout. Has an awesome tie in toward the end that suggests there may be more story to tell, perhaps through Disney’s soon to come streaming service, or follow up movies. All in all they did a good job on this one. Check it out if you’re a Star Wars fan.

Maybe it was not fair, the Star Wars franchise has produced some huge successful movies. By any other standard, this was a decent movie. While Alden E. made a valiant effort, it was never going to be possible to replace Harrison F. When you put that all aside, the movie helped to fill in some details of Han Solo's past and what made him into the rebel we love. Maybe a little more gritty would have been better, but a decent movie with new/old characters.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is able to stand alone in the storylines of Star Wars. We learn how Han Solo began, his life, his struggles, his heart ache, say hello to Chewbacca and much more. I wish they would've given Han a little better story but this is his history as the writers imagined it. I hope there will be another one for Han before he ended up with the Rebellion, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker. More to be explored....

Love this movie and the options you get with the DVD. I haven't been able to try out the 4K, but when I do, I'll report back. Only con is these Blu-Rays (and the technology that is now more than a few yrs old) should not be as expensive as they are.... even when "on-sale"!! Remove all the HIGH DOLLAR packaging and fancy holders, etc. and they could sell this for under $10. !! :o) Then they could get their rev on quantity!

'SOLO' is a well crafted and thoroughly enjoyable film both for general audiences and STAR WARS fans that gives the back-story of Han Solo and Chewbacca's friendship; However, my only qualm, and perhaps even DISNEY's given the film's somewhat disappointing box office receipts is that the movie seems to have arrived 25 years or so too late and would have been a monster hit on par with, say an 'Indiana Jones' sequel with a 'young' Harrison Ford'...

Don’t believe the hype from other negative reviews. If you’re expecting extravagant lightsaber battles and what not, you may be disappointed. However, the spinoff story really explained a lot of the myth behind Han Solo’s character. All the actors/actresses did a great job portraying their character. The limited Steelbook Edition is a nice addition to your movie library. I must say, the Best Buy Steelbook have really grown on me. Go see this movie!

Great packaging; went with the steelbook. Recommended. All of the special features on one disc, which I prefer. Great audio and picture transfer to BD. Film is very dark and muted, so there is only so much 1080p can do. Haven’t watched 4K yet but I expect a lot of darks still. Chalk this up to director’s choice. A great pickup and my new must-own SW movie (replacing Rogue One as my sneaky-good franchise entry). Rating: A

Big Star Wars fan and didn't think I would like it. I didn't even go to the theater to watch it. First time in 41 years. I was hesitant to see it after The Last Jedi, but I was surprised and impressed a little on the story line and how the actors portrayed the characters, especially with Lando Calrissean. They story provides background information to Star Wars fan that provides info on past stories like Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

I read the reviews and did not expect much from this movie. After watching it I wondered why the rotten reviews. At first seeing someone other than Harrison Ford as Han Solo was weird and tough to swallow but then I adjusted and excepted the new actor. The story moves fast and is very entertaining. It almost moves to fast where key plot lines were left out. I felt there could of been more to strengthen the story but overall I enjoyed this movie.

I guess if you are a true believer and read the books, well I guess you would not like theses movies. If you are like me and just like the story line then this movie fell nicely into place. I enjoyed as it went along. Was a little confusing at first but settled into place. The picture quality was great, but as in the past the sound came up short on my 9.1 system. Just good entertainment. I would recommend this movie too most all people.

By far the best Star Wars movie yet. Absolutely loved it, feeds into storyline, fills in the unknown back story of Han Solo and Lando Calrission, leaves you leading up to known Han Solo meeting places but still leaves a little bit of time for a 2nd Solo movie if they wanted to. They should. I've been disappointed with Disney's prior Star Wars efforts, this one made up for it. Great story, great action and effects.

I am one of those who still likes to have hard media around. This also comes with a digital copy for ease of use on laptops and tablets. Not the best Star Wars movie, but still entertaining. My wife is not as critical as I am about Star Wars movies and she really liked this one. Wish the price of these 4Ks would come down to a more reasonable range. Good to find on sale.

I have all the Star Wars movies and the "add-on" Star War additions, such as Rogue One, so I had to have this film. It's very good, lots of action and you find out how certain characters such as Han Solo and Chewbacca met and how long they've been together. It's an interesting study of the characters in the early films of Star Wars. I highly recommend this film. Very enjoyable.

The latest installment in the Star Wars franchise, “Solo,” does not disappoint. It was interesting to see the beginnings of one of the main protagonists & to fill in some blanks in a beloved iconic story that many have enjoyed. It will be an intrigue to see what the next puzzle pieces bring. And, it’s fun for all generations, including generations that were yet to be born when the first Star Wars film was debuted.

Don’t believe all of the garbage you hear from some about how they don’t like this movie. The movie is very good! Those who complain about it are the ones who seem to think they know everything about the series. They can’t just sit back and enjoy something for what it is, instead of what their beliefs are! My grandson who was 9 at the time. Loved it And the Steelcase version is a nice addition to your collection.

I'm not going to review the film, because you shouldn't care what i, or the rest of the world thinks about that, but instead I'll review the release itself. There are plenty of extras in this release all contained on separate disc. Haven't made it through all of them yet but there a bunch. Only downside is I dont believe there is a director's commentary. If you like the film, buy the disc. It's a good release.

If you hated Last Jedi, you’ve likely boycottted this movie in the theatres...but now you’re curious. It doesn’t give anything you really needed, but you’re glad you have it. Solid movie. More Marvel than DC in terms of fun and action. Steelbook is a nice bonus. The extras are average and in years / decades to come, will likely get repackaged with more bonus content, as only Star Wars knows how to do.

Ignore the hard core fan negatives about the movie (which had some director issues during early production), and just enjoy the film for what it is -- a story explaining some of the scenes from Episode IV like the Kessel run, how Han gets ahold of the Millennium Falcon and the loss of the escape pod at the front of the Falcon. Good action and the film sets up for possible sequels and more action on Han's smuggler exploits.
