Recently picked these up at a discount as they are normally $1200. They happen to be one for sale at 899. My existing 6 1/2 inch klipsch they came with the house, pale in comparison, and not even our worthy of mention compared to these. With a Sonos amp attached, I enabled this first with some classical and then some theater music from Amazon prime and I was blown away literally. A large smile across my face after just a minute of listening to the wide dynamic range great base and amazing depth I got with the speakers. I was very hesitant to cut another one and a half inches of drywall out to fit the speakers, but the install was super easy. Took about five minutes with a tiny little hacksaw or hand saw and it was well worth it. I am now placing these speakers in several parts of the house as I replaced all of the existing 6 1/2 inch speakers. These are slightly tilted and angled and the use of a acoustic wall using an acoustic wall panel is highly recommended

Sonance outperformed the more expensive brands They were a breeze to install and look phenomenal in our home theatre. The directional tweeters accommodated positioning these speakers exactly where we wanted to provide exceptional sound - **** Highly Recommend ****

I did an extensive research for surround audio solution for my home but halted as soon as I came across these bad boys. I was lucky to get them on a great Sales deal in Best Buy. They are magnificent, covering my entire home with 2 pairs in large rooms and 1 pair in small rooms and bedrooms and they spit crisp and fire. Now I have a perfect surround audio solution that didn't hurt my bank account.

These are fine speakers. Install is designed to be easy, but because I was replacing older in ceiling speakers, I had to do some replastering. My family noticed the sound improvement immediately and the speaker cover is flatter and less obtrusive visually. They handle high volume without distortion. Base is very good. The ability to move the tweeter and woofer independently is nice...and effective.

Great sounding ceiling speakers, purchased four speakers for Dolby atmos in home theater, great speakers at a great price, the sales person in the magnolia theater recommend the Sonace ceiling speakers for atmos, glad I took his advice, quality speakers, great price, you can’t go wrong with the Sonce ceiling speakers!

Very easy installation, clear sound, great volume range, we dont need the extra bass for our area. But if you want a lot of bass. Get a sub. Great price point. Painted screens black.

These 8" Sonance speakers are what I needed to TOP OFF my home theater. Added 6 of them for far superior Atmos sound. I would recommend if you had no experience fishing cable through walls and ceiling, hire an electrician. He was finished with 6 speakers, faster than I could have done 2. Including sheet rock holes and running almost 500 feet of speaker cable. These are not worth $1000.00 retail, however a steal at $299.00 sale price. Thanks Best buy. My home theater is now a 9.6.2 system. With a VOG speaker too... forgot that one

Speakers sound excellent and the way the grill sits around the speaker and against the ceiling is really slick. Replaced my 6" speakers in separate zone used for music only listening without subwoofer (no theater/ surround) and these 8" from Sonance exceeded my expectations. Sound quality is awesome and they look super clean.

I love these speakers , not the best on super high notes but the get the job done very well at a wonderful price. I paid $249.99 sale for all of my speakers total 4 boxes that is 8 speakers. I even have one for my center channel. Get them you will be happy just make sure you have a powerful receiver to power them. I had to upgrade. And the look clean and are simple to put up very happy.

I bought two sets of these for in ceiling and these speakers are awesome. I always look for these in the deal of the day section as Best Buy will do a crazy markdown of these $999.99 speakers. These are a good addition to any home theater system.

Sound great, love the ability to turn the speakers in any direction while in the ceiling. Got them hundreds of dollars off. It’s a no brainer. They also look really good in the ceiling. Easy to install hard to run the wire.

Overall happy with this purchase. Purchased the 8” for the surrounds and 6” for the rears. The feature to adjust in different angles is a bonus. My only gripe is I had to purchase the back box enclosures due to the attic environment, which I think were over priced. The installation was a bit difficult as I installed in plaster ceiling with mesh and not in the usual drywall. Once I completed install the sound is impressive. In my opinion I recommend only on sale. I wouldn’t purchase at full price.

After listening to the 6.5 inch speakers by Sonance, I am glad I went with the 8 inch size. They fill my family room with a rich quality sound, look high end and saves space. Easy install. Great purchase, price and product.

I got these ceiling speakers for surround sound and they work great. Very happy with the sound quality and I don’t have big bulky speakers around the room. I hardly even know they are there.

Sonance's speaker line offers stunning performance, with visuals to boot. The MAG8R series is no exception to that. With my current 7.2 setups, I opted for overhead speakers for my home theater. After testing out overheads, I wanted speakers that offer a full-range of sound, including bass and crystal-clear sound. In comes, the MAG8R 2-way speakers, offered by Sonance. Installation: The speakers include a template for you to draw the hole (a little over 10") to cut and fit the speakers in the ceiling. I would recommend using a stud finder and heading into your attic to measure out attic beams. Also, check to make sure you do not have a conduit, or another electrical wiring in your ceiling before tracing your template, and cutting. Although this was my preference, I opted to use a hole saw to make a perfect cut in my ceiling (you could use a hand saw suited for drywall or plaster, too). When installing the speakers, the MAG8R's include wing nuts that will open and bind to the ceiling as you are tightening them in, which is a nice feature. I would also suggest having someone help you run the speaker wire from the attic to the wall that you are fishing the line to. One positive experience I had installing this speaker series was the option to pivot the tweeter and woofer towards the couch/listening area. Other speakers I looked at did not offer this feature. More so, the MAG8R speakers have a built-in magnet that allows you to attach the grille plate with ease. Make sure to install the speakers flush to the ceiling so that the grille plate can sit flush on the ceiling. Although not necessary for me, the grille plate is designed for you to paint it (to match the ceiling color if needed). After I ran the cabling and plugged it into my receiver, this is where the fun begins. Setup/Sound/Performance: Note, once you plug the speaker wires into your surround, refer to your receiver manual/setup menu for enabling extra speaker channels. At first, I did not hear anything out of these. However, when I enabled the overhead channels on my Marantz receiver, the speakers "came to life." For my setup, I turned the decibel levels up, on each MAG8R, to level four. I popped in my 4K version of Apocolypse now, and oh my god, the sound. I have two subwoofers already. Yet, when the "helicopter sequence" came on, the sound traveled, literally, over my head, and it was loud and clear. The bass from the film was in front of me and over my head as well. More than likely, adjusting the speaker in the ceiling towards our couch/listening area allowed us to immerse ourselves more in the films we watched. Again, the sound was crystal-clear from where we were sitting (the speakers are about six feet above our heads). Surprisingly, since the speakers contain a built-in woofer, there were no issues with the ceiling, or speakers rattling. After testing multiple 4K films with 7.1 channels, the speakers continuously performed at an exceptional level. Overall, the MAG8R speakers offer a loud performance but appear invisible. The installation after measuring, stud finding, and fishing cable were easy (but time-consuming). The speakers themselves have an elegant appearance while offering pivoting woofers and tweeters so that you can focus sound on any place in the room. Overall, the MAG8R speakers are a solid choice for anyone looking for ceiling speakers for their home theater.
