Very warm rich sounding speaker. I am using them in wall for a wall mounted record player. They create a very nice cost effective staged sound field. I wanted large speakers that were shallow enough for wall framing, 4”.

I have to say I was just expecting "pretty good" speakers even with all the high ratings since they are, after all just 2 speakers. They are extremely well made and you can tell they are quality items. Installation is a breeze. I ordered the 8" because I was not confident the 6" would put out enough bass and I did not want to add a sub-woofer. Someone else will have to seak to that in the 6" reviews. Like most speakers, at very low volume you won't get the fullness of their capability. But even at levels where you can have a conversation you can get great sound. Crank it up only a notch or two and these beauties shine. I would say they are a fair price especially with their higher end models being much pricier. I would not only recommend them, but I am planning on getting another pair for another room.

Had a Best Buy In-Home Advisor come for a free estimate and proposal for upgrading the surround sound in my great room. This is the in-ceiling speakers that was in the proposal. (upgrade included new receiver. center channel speaker and wireless subwoofer. Had everything programmed into a new universal remote. Sound is fantastic. Speakers look great and blend in.

I added a second set for my family room to replace my rear 6 1/2" ceiling speakers after hearing them in my rec room.
