First of all, I have to preface with saying I own every Jimmy Buffett album. He could release an album of knee slapping and spoons and I would still buy it. Having said that, I am first to admit that some of his albums have been weaker than others. Overall, his last couple of releases haven't been some of his better ones. I do like this new album, but I am getting a little tired of Jimmy's new trend of recording a song with a country music star. I really don't like the new effort on this album, Too Drunk To Karaoke. I think this might be the weakest of his country duets to date. For me, these are the strong songs: Something 'Bout A Boat, Einstein Was A Surfer, Serpentine, Useless But Important Information, I Want To Go Back To Cartagena, Soulfully, Rue De La Guitare, Tides, The Rocket That Grandpa Rode, I Wave Bye Bye, Colour Of The Sun, Oldest Surfer On The Beach These are the weak songs: Earl's Dead - Cadillac For Sale, Too Drunk To Karaoke, I'm No Russian If I had to pick one favorite, it would be Serpentine or Colour Of The Sun. Overall, the album has good tunes with only one real dud for me (Too Drunk To Karaoke). I feel like Jimmy had two really great periods of song writing: the mid-70s (albums like Havana Daydreamin, Changes In Latitudes and A1A) and the mid-90s (Fruitcakes, Barometer Soup and Banana Wind). Many of the songs on Songs From St. Somewhere remind me of his music from those periods. If you like Jimmy Buffett, I'm sure you'll like this album.

As a long time JB fan, I can say this is a mellower, less biting tone to his music. But still the Jimmy we've all loved for decades.

If you are a Jimmy Buffett fan, you will most certainly like this CD! It will make you smile, and you will find yourself singing along!

I have heard songs off this disk on Serious/XM for awhile and finally got the disk for the collection.

For those that follow Jimmy, this is one of his later albums. It's great, just like all the rest.

Love any new music from Jimmy Buffett. Still love the old stuff, but enjoy hearing some new music.

This is a great album for a Jimmy Buffet lover. Fun music

You can't go wrong with the purchase of a Jimmy Buffett CD!

It's good to have some new music from Jimmy. The songs cover a variety of music styles (whimsical, beer-drinking, thoughtful, etc.), which makes the CD interesting. There are a few cuts that I think can be Jimmy "classics," but you'll have to determine that for yourself. If you are a fan, you'll probably buy it anyway. But if you are on the fence, just go for it.

It's great to hear new Jimmy Buffett music, especially when its freezing outside and Margaritas are being shaken inside. We feel good when Jimmy includes us on his trips around the world...a musical travelogue.

This is a great collection of new songs that are just what you would hope for in a new Jimmy Buffet album. Continues in the easy listening fun tradition of music from Margaritaville.

I first saw Jimmy Buffet perform live in about 1974 or 5 on the soccer field at the U of S Fla. He's been a favorite ever since. His songs/music make a person feel good.

There are a couple bummer songs. But who loves every song on a release by any artist? Something 'Bout a Boat really hits home for me.

As usual, Jimmy gives a great album to have fun by!!!! Buffet is a master of the songs to keep anyone dancing...humming and just plain feeling great!!

This Philosopher/Poet/Balladeer, just keeps getting better and better! I have purchased every album/cd that has come out, and will continue!

I enjoyed the entire album.. Some of it is a little diff than his holder stuff but still great. If you love true Buffett then you will love this

If you like Jimmy Buffett, then you will probably like this cd. I don't think that it is his best, but it is good. For me, the songs tend to run together, and I will be listening to one song and realize that I am 2 songs further down the cd and did not realize that I had completed the songs. I really like "Boats to build" and "The oldest surfer on the beach".

If you like Buffett you'll like this. More storytelling as expected. I bought this for my dad who likes it.

This is a fun album to listen to. It has really great songs on it. Jimmy Buffett hasn't lost his sense of humor.
