Of course people are entitled to their opinions, but I highly disagree with harsh criticism this game received. I thought it was one of the best games in the so-called "boost era" (2008-2017) of Sonic games. One of my favorite things about this game was it brought back the large ensemble of characters the series is known for. This really helps livens up the world in Forces, it really helps connect it to the previous games in the series and makes Forces story of Eggman finally ruling the world more impactful, that the situation is so dire it requires almost every one of Sonic's friends to set things right. The levels are all very detailed and varied, there's always something going on in the background that helps tell a story for each stage. There are 3 main playable characters, Sonic, Classic Sonic, and the player created Avatar. All three have different play styles, with Sonic playing like he did in other "boost" games (Unleashed, Colors, & Generations), Classic Sonic plays just like he did in Generations, now with the added drop dash from Sonic Mania, and the Avatar character plays similar to Sonic though you can choose what weapon they use which helps differentiate them from Sonic. Shadow is also playable via free dlc, though he basically has all of Sonic's same abilities. Finally I want to say the music is fantastic, while this a given to many Sonic fans, the songs in this game really helped connect me to the story. The Avatar's stages almost always has vocals, the lyric of these songs made me feel deeply connected on an emotional level to the story, and what the Avatar character (and the others) needed to do. These songs really helped motivate me to want to defeat Eggman and save the world.

The combat is actually really easy that even if you've never played a sonic game in your life as long as you can press the buttons on the controller, you basically know how to do everything. Compared to all other Sonic games from the past, this one give you an experience of joining forces and creating your own character to help Sonic combat against Dr. Eggman and his forces.

This game is very entertaining. I don't game much nowadays. I do love the classic from Nintendo and Sega. I also enjoy the Lego video games. Pick this one up if it is on sale.

the kids really enjoy playing this game, it keeps them busy for hours.

Not perfect but the price was right and my kid loves it.

This is a great game kids up to teens to get started on PS4/5, older kids may have a differ in taste. Quite interesting, if the kids like Sonic series then will certainly like the game. very much like the mobile game but a ton more of different options.

I normally don't play games but saw this on a TV ad and wanted to check it out. Super glad I did. Game runs and looks phenomenal on my PS4 Pro and 4k TV. Many hours of gaming and so many ways to explore worlds in the game.

If you remember (and like) the old Sonic from Sega, this game gives you the nostalgia of the old game, mixed with the graphics and technology of today.

This game is fast paced and full of adventure and excitement. It literally has me on the edge of my seat when I'm watching my kids play it. My daughter that I purchased this game for really likes it.

I run so fast in this game I wish I can run that fast in real life. Goooooo sonic!! Zooooooom

For Sonic fans, Sonic Forces is the best. Nonstop action as the hours pass faster than Sonic himself.
