Great game for my boys ages 5 and 7. The love Sonic and the other characters are a bonus.

In the relatively sparse "family-friendly" selection for the PS3, Sonic & Sega All-stars Racing stands out as not only being good for that particular niche, but a great game overall in its own right. There are plenty of options to suit individual racing interests (plenty of graphical/stylistic choices with regards to one's preferred racer as well as decent variety in terms of vehicle/racer characteristics - Acceleration, Speed, Handling, etc), more than enough courses (and variety of terrain/hazards/etc) to sustain interest through weeks of dedicated competition (just ask my 7-year old nephew), a decent enough range of track songs (though they do tend to blend together and sound rather alike), and a rather deep set of racing mini-games/missions/tournaments to sate the appetite of solo players. For completionists, there are even a decent number (and difficulty range) of trophies to struggle for and be acquired. All that said, the real test of a game's strength and worth boils down to the answer to one simple question: is it fun to play? In the case of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing for the PS3, the answer is a decided "YES". Given the low price of this (now) older game, it's a great value and anyone with any interest at all in arcade racing (especially those with younger children) could do a lot worse than taking the plunge and trying it for themselves. Highly recommended.

In this racing game, you receive a speed boost when you release the drift (power slide from mario kart), which leads to an odd style of racing. But other than that it's a pretty sweet game. We got a few friends together at a part who had never played a racing game before and they picked it up quickly and had a great time. Let's face it, this is a knockoff of Mario Kart, but it just might be better. The drivers and the tracks are not as recognizable as the Nintendo's are, but I've still been having a terrific time.

I bought this game for my 12 year old daughter and she and her friends love it! The tracks are good, a little easy to learn though, but still challenging enough to have a great time.

great game, easy and super fun to play, graphics are perfect, only complaint is the loading times...but eh what can you do...if ya want a fun online or party game this is it!
