If you have an existing sound system that supports either a digital of RCA type of input, this is a perfect addition. I use it as an input into an integrated sound bar with woofer and rear speakers. I just plug the SONOS box into the optical in (comes with optical cable), select D.IN (digital in) on my soundbar and I have another room serviced by SONOS without buying any additional speakers. If you have an extra $1,800, you can go SONOS all the way.(soundbar, woofer, rear speakers) I am happy with the less expensive $400 adapter solution. If you have existing speakers, SONOS makes a similar box that is also an amplifier. I use it to drive the outdoor speakers that I already had in place. Great for parties... All the gathering areas, including the deck and Patio can play the same music or different areas can play different content. I team my AMAZON Prime up with SONOS (works great) and I have thousands of options.

This product is a great partner with your smartphone. All the music that you have laying around and haven't listened to for years will now become part of your life again. The jukebox feature and the ease of streaming music will get commercial free digital music flowing all day and all night long.

Not that straight forward to use with an AV Receiver. Limited connection choices & configuration options make it challenging. I wish they had better customer support options through Sonos.

Sonos is an extremely well designed system allowing the user to broadcast their iTunes, satellite radio, Pandora, Sound Cloud or whatever either through an existing stereo system or a Sonos speaker system. It can be managed via Android, iPhone, Ipad, or PC. It is extremely easy to set up. I

I have been integrating Sonos components into my current sound system to replace an old Bose System. I am much happier with the performance and ease of configuration of the Sonos components. Warning it is addictive, if you buy one component you will want more!

I've wanted this for awhile and finally took the plunge. It easily found and catalogued all of the music on my network. I added my rhapsody account and set my favorite internet radio stations. If you love music, get one now!

I got this because I wanted to use my Pioneer VSX1021 and my Martin Logan as a zone. I currently only have a Play5, and this really rounds out the sound. I had a little bit of an issue with my receiver processing the music too much so I set it to Pure Direct. That helped a lot with the echo I was getting when the receiver was doing too much processing on the audio. My pet peeve with the Connect is that on variable volume I have to turn up the receiver up to 100% in order for me to be able to hear the audio. Which becomes a pain in the ears if you switch back to another source as it's then at 100%. I did set the Receiver to come on at 50% power when I turn on the system so that it doesn't come on at 100% but that doesn't help when moving through inputs. If turn off variable audio then I have to use 2 different apps to control the volume for both sonos zones. I'm looking forward to when I want to upgrade my receiver and just go strictly playbar and put the connect in the garage with some powered outdoor speakers.

i principally chose the Sonos Connect to add streaming music services to my home audio system, and I couldn't be any happier. The user interaction setting it up is beyond easy, and the device works flawlessly. What a fantastic addition! Highly recommended.

The sonos connect is a great component to make an existing home audio system part of a Sonos system. It is easy to setup and connect and allows you to bring a high end home audio system into the Sonos ecosystem.

If you don't want to get rid of that expensive 7.1 or 9.1 Stereo system that you have your external gadgets connected to and you have those expensive wired speakers attached. This is the gateway to solving your connection from wired to wireless speakers!

Sonos is great. It puts just about all the music you could want at your fingertips. Internet radio, i tunes, locally stored music on your network or smartphone and most internet music services. The only glaring omission is Google Music. Want to adjust the volume without leaving your seat or finding the remote... No problem. It would be great if Sonos updated the app to have "profiles" so that Sonos systems on different WiFi networks could be paired to your phone. That way you can also control your friends Sonos system when you are visiting. I think the idea of a collaborative playlist is fantastic and it works great till you buy your own system and have to give up access to your friends' systems. Go ahead and buy it already...if you can afford it....you won't be disappointed.

Simple to connect. I had to use the wire type to plug connectors for receiver (very old), but once connected I was able to play music through both speakers (I have 2 sono play1s), from an old 5 changer CD and will also work on a DVD player I have.

I was somewhat skeptical initially about what a Sonos system could do to revive my 25 year old housewide stereo system, which had been on the fritz for some time. Randall, the Geek Squad technician, did an absolutely super job on the installation. Frankly, I can't get over how well my system now performs. Wish I had done this much earlier. I was looking to put so much more money into the system and was delighted that I took the least expensive option which provided so much more than I could have anticipated.

I was unimpressed by the Sonos Connect and was going to return it but I ran it through the dac of my Klipsch Heritage headphone amp and now the sound is wonderful. I tried and returned other devices but will be keeping this one.
