We debated between the 5 and the Move. So glad we got the 5. Yes, it’s a bit pricey but it’s an investment. It’s something we use every single day. It adds to the ambience of the home. Was able to get a discount on an open box one in excellent condition. Had a little trouble with set up but Sonos customer service was awesome. The tech was so helpful and patient with me. I find we use the Sonos station the majority of the time. I just love discovering new music that I likely never would have. The sound is great. Crisp and clear no matter what level volume it’s on. We have it in the living room of our smallish condo and can hear it in all the rooms by adjusting the volume. Have not done auto tune yet. I am someone who is so glad this is wifi and not blue tooth! I hated the music getting interrupted when the cell phone rang with our old bluetooth speaker! ! So nice that we don’t worry about that anymore. The unit looks really nice. And if we ever move to a larger place, we could always get additional Sonos speakers for other rooms. Very pleased so far with the 5 and would recommend if you love music.

The Sonos speaker delivers impressive sound quality with deep bass, clear mids, and crisp highs, making it perfect for music lovers. Its seamless integration with streaming services and smart home systems like Alexa and Google Assistant adds convenience. The sleek design fits any room, and the multi-room capability enhances the listening experience throughout your home. While it’s on the pricier side, the sound performance and smart features make it a worthwhile investment for audiophiles and tech enthusiasts.

I mainly use them for surround sound for movies, you here some much more than before. Top Gun is a great example, Awesome. The wife enjoys listening to all types of music and she is very satisfied. Very crisp and clear, base is great. We've had it up loud for long periods of time and they still work and sound the same as when we 1st got them. This is our 2nd set of play 5s, we did have one stop connecting to pair up for surround sound. We did buy the 4yr protection plan, definitely worth the extra money. We were able to exchange both old play 5s, for the play 5s for the cost of another 4 year protection plan(was optional to have to buy it again(but again worth it, especially considering how expensive they are)). Only down side is the interface on the app to control them when trying to trouble shoot connecting issues(with the old play 5s), could be more user friendly. I would give the play 5 a 4.75 overall, so I rounded up to 5.

These speakers sound amazing. I bought a Five for our entertaining area and a One SL for our kitchen--they're perfect for keeping the music going while you're hosting regardless of where you are in the house. And don't be fooled by their size--they have good bass and decent volume. I was debating between buying similar products from Denon, but after comparing the two in store, the Sonos Five easily beat the comparably priced Denon 250. Set up was quite easy. However, actually using them can be hit or miss. Frequently when selecting one or the other speaker in Spotify (or trying to group them), the speaker we're trying to use just won't respond. Sometimes this can be fixed by selecting the other speaker first (which will sometimes just work), and then selecting the speaker that we want... sometimes this gets the speaker we want to start playing, but other times it will stay silent. The next step we try is to either restart the speaker, which usually works, but sometimes we have to restart the entire network. Of course, it usually "just works" when I'm trying to play music or podcasts or whatever for just myself, and it usually is finicky when people are over. Now I just typically plan to spend 5 minutes at the beginning of a party just trying to get the speakers to play in the correct configuration. Definitely not ideal... but when they work, they sound great and they fill our house with sound!

I purchased 2 Sonos Five speakers and the mini sub to use in my office. All I can say is the sound is so crisp and sharp. The base produced is perfect - very rich but not over powering. I have heard more detail in the music that wasn't audible before on my my other speakers. A bit pricy but you won't regret it. You can turn it up as loud as you like and the music remains pristine. The Sonos App was a bit of a learning curve for me but now with my Apple Music library and SirusXM all added to the app I'm very happy with the system. You'll hear details you've never heard before.

Upgraded from a Samsung Q90r sound bar and was worried it was a potential downgrade as this is a 5.1 when the Samsung is a 7.1 but I paired my arc with a gen 3 sub and two Sonos fives as my rears and holy cow I’m absolutely blown away! Samsung who? The sound that these components put out bare absolutely incredible. The amount of bass. 10/10 would recommend. The ease of setting up everything in the app is insanely simple and fast. This is an incredible system and can’t wait for future products as I can confidently say I’ll be a Sonos guy for life.

Excellent sounding WiFi speaker. Cystal clear sound even if you crank it up to full volume. Louder than you would ever need in most cases. This is not the speaker for you if looking to use bluetooth to request music from Alexa or Google. I use the Sonos app on my Ipad for Amazon music, Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn & Sonos Radio. You can control volume, balance, bass & treble from the app, or you can control volume or pause from the buttons on speaker. It does not have a power button so never turns off unless you unplug from electrical outlet. Can't imagine you can find another speaker this size that sounds any better.

I have a pair of these and have to say they exceeded my expectations. The Trueplay technology helps make setting it up a breeze and the sound is amazing. The speakers are great but the app can use some fine tuning to improve usability and make it the great companion app that it should be.

I received a record player and was in need of a product that would play within the sonos ecosystem. I started with two Era 100s but they were not up to par. I tried this out in hopes that it would make the vinyl sound great and it did. Fantastic speaker that works extremely well with the whole system or just the record player.

I think the Arc might sound a tiny bit better but I also have the Sub attached to that one. So hard to say. They both sound twice as good together - if that's possible. They both sound beyond amazing. Very 3D high resolution immersive sound when you sit between the Arc, their best Sub and the Sonos 5. I also run 17 Alexas as my whole-house-poor-man's Sonos system. It's not quite as nice. The Sonos 5 makes the Alexa Studio look small.

I can understand why the Sono Five has been the long running flagship speaker in their entire lineup. It's very powerful and is great for larger rooms. it fills the entire room with music. Use the Sonos app to access your Apple Music, Panda, Spotify or listen to the existing stations offered by Sonos.

Great sound. Simple setup. The best whole house music option out there. Only downside is the price but well worth it considering all the features: tons of streaming music and radio options, airplay 2 so you can stream directly from an iPhone, iPad, etc. If you’re new to Sonos, maybe start with a One instead of this speaker and see if you like it. Then get this one later.

The Sonos Five is relatively expensive as a single speaker, but the wireless setup is great if you prefer a clutter-free environment. I gave paired this speaker with the Victrola Carbon Stream wireless turntable and it delivers rich sound that easily fills my living room. Easy to set up and to pair with multiple devices to stream music from.

Absolutely amazing sound! You do not need a subwoofer and I’m a bass guy. Shocking bass and HiFi sound in such a small package. Buy two of these for an amazing stereo experience. They were decent with one speaker but over the top amazing with two. The downside. Only use these for listening to music through Wi-Fi. Don’t try anything else. I tried every trick in the book to use them as computer speakers. The delay is very real if you do and very unacceptable. Because they sounded so good I kept trying to force the issue. The port on the back for input sounded terrible. It cut the quality down so bad I couldn’t believe it. Then to get rid of the delay I actually spent $400 on a Sonos sound bar to connect the computer directly to and get around Wi-Fi. Then I paired/grouped the fives with the soundbar. It almost worked. The soundbar and the fives were not putting out sound at the same time. I just had to turn the sound off on the soundbar and the fives were working in real-time with my computer. What a waste to spend $400 just for a direct connection to my computer. I thought I had it licked. As I enjoyed them over a couple weeks I found too many problems. The sound would cut out every so often and the soundbar would decide to turn itself up and the delay would be apparent. I gave it a valiant try. Don’t do it. They are not computer speakers and there’s no way to manipulate them into being that. I took off a star because with one or two “quality” inputs on the back these could be used for so much more than just playing music through Wi-Fi. Like using them with your entertainment system, TV or a computer. It might cost them $20 to add a feature that would allow the speaker to be used in all types of applications without a delay. I was so sick of the issues I have had with my Bose 500, 700 and 900 systems I was going to start migrating over to Sonos. This was going to be my transition set of speakers. Now they lost me. I took the same $1500 I spent on the two fives and soundbar and bought a couple powered KEF LSX II. Much smaller and fit on my desk. They required a sub though to sound good. Another $1500. I had a quality sub laying around so it worked out. Why are there no quality computer speakers??
