I recently purchased the Sonos One (Gen 2) Smart Speaker in black, and it has been an absolute delight. This speaker is a perfect blend of high-quality audio performance and smart technology, making it a standout choice in its category. The first thing that struck me was its elegant and minimalist design. The black finish gives it a sleek and modern look, fitting seamlessly into various room aesthetics. It's compact enough to place on a shelf or a bedside table without taking up too much space, yet it commands presence with its stylish appearance. When it comes to sound quality, the Sonos One (Gen 2) truly excels. The audio output is rich, clear, and balanced. Whether I'm listening to classical music, rock, or podcasts, the sound is always crisp and full of depth. The bass is particularly impressive for a speaker of its size - it's deep and punchy without overpowering the mids and highs. The voice control capability is another feature that I've found incredibly useful. It's equipped with built-in support for multiple voice assistants, making it versatile and user-friendly. Controlling music, setting alarms, or getting news updates using voice commands is effortless and adds a level of convenience that I now can't do without. Connectivity with other Sonos speakers is a huge plus. I love the ability to create a multi-room audio system, allowing me to play music throughout my house. The setup was straightforward, and the Sonos app makes it easy to control the entire system from my phone. One aspect that I appreciate is its future-proof design. The Gen 2 model has an upgraded processor and increased memory, ensuring that it will support new features and updates for years to come. It's not just a purchase; it's an investment in a long-lasting audio experience.

Great quality speakers. I ordered 2, which are used in stereo and another 2 of the SL's as rear speakers for the home theater. Both the SL and this speaker are practically the same other than the fact that these have a microphone. Highly recommend either. They are very easy to setup and use. Smaller that I thought they would be which is good. I feel like they could use more base, but I guess that's the next step up with the 5's if you want it all. I read that these are actually better as rear's for home theater than the 5's because in practice they will perform just as good as the 5's and won't pull the base away from the arc, so there is a significant cost savings with almost no loss of performance. This is what I've read others say though, and therefore not from personal experience. If you want quality sound with no hassles, Sonos has a great ecosystem that you can add to over time (or all at once if you want an early birthday, Christmas, and Anniversary present).

We had a first generation Alexa in the bedroom, and would play white noise, while we slept. It started to crackle and stop intermittently... so decided to upgrade... and didn't want a camera and good sound. After doing the research, we found this Sonos Gen 2 speaker. It has great sound and set up was relatively easy. We ended up buying 2, one for the livingroom too.. and when we clean the house, we play 80's music, with both synced... fills the whole house with music, that is clear, good base and not distorted. You do have the option of going with Google/Nest speakers as well... and we have both in our house, and it is still a toss up, but certainly does not affect the main reason to buy the speakers, it offers great sound and it is easy to connect together. We did also purchase the Sonos Playbase and do plan on eventually hooking them all up for better sound from out TV. The only downside is that the Sonos speakers are a bit more pricey, compared to standard Alexa's or Google products, but you get what you pay for. We did find them as open box items so we got an even nicer price. Overall, I would highly recommend this speaker.

Pro Give this 5 stars for ease of set up. Give it 5 stars for sound quality Give it 5 stars for portability. Give it 5 starts for packaging and look of product. Con I Give it 1 stars for its ability to hear my commends when the speaker is in use. Even at a low level 3 of 10 it is failing to pick up my voice. the Echo dot is better at this. In fact, my echo dot in my bedroom picked up my voice when I was in the living room, but the Sonos did not. I'm wondering if I should have gone with the Play 1 and connected to an echo.

Audio is Much Better Than The Alexa Device

I purchased this to replace an alexa speaker / device. Being an audiophile, I am very picky with sound. I had come accustomed to using a couple alexa devices and this replaced one where I wanted listen to news, and occasional music. The sound quality and convenience combined make this one a hit for me. I can definitely see using this for any application for audio throughout a space, you can pair them in stereo and broadcast over a number throughout the house and a few other features. I have nothing but good things to say abou this speaker. The overall sound is balanced, and musical. Voices on the news are also easy to listen to. I have noticed with a lot of speakers and sound systems news, talk radio etc, voices are too something... not with this speaker. It is in my opinion sonos best overall sounding speaker. I have a sonos move and roam, both of these two sound great compared to competitors, but the sonos one is my favorite and most balanced sounding.

I was looking for a speaker set up with Amazon Alexa integrated into it. The unit that these were replacing was Definitive Technology W9 which I had an echo dot connected to. The issue with that setup was having to adjust the volume on both devices (doesn't seem like a big issue, unless you have people who regularly unplug the device to use the outlet and you have set up the volume each time) . With Alexa built into a device, I wouldn't have to worry about that. I purchased two of these devices and connected them as a stereo pair. I was concerned that the sound output wouldn't be able to match what I had previously since the W9 had 6 speakers total with two being 5 1/4" woofers. There was certainly nothing to worry about, as these put out some serious volume and bass that leaves nothing to be desired. If they can make their small speakers sound like this, then their larger speakers must be phenomenal

This is my 5th Sonos speaker purchase to date. I say to date because I am sure I’m not done. I started in my den with a Playbar and 2 Sonos One speakers. It is the first time I had paired a quality sound system to my tv. Wow what a difference it is, I didn’t realize how terrible my TVs speakers were before. I always had trouble even hearing simple voices without having to crank up the tv. Now I can everything crystal clear as well as phenomenal sound from the entire soundtrack which I just realized actually existed for the viewers entertainment. I’ve since added the smaller bar for my bedroom which is awesome and one Play One in my kitchen. They all pair seamlessly and I can choose one or all rooms to listen throughout the house. The app is so easy to use as well. Bravo Sonos!!

Excellent speaker for music, great sound quality and volume for its size. The sonos software integreation is excellent, strong signal over wifi. Bass is good, both lows and highs are very clear. My only complaint is that the minimum volume level is a bit too high, even when adjusted to a volume limit of 50%.

I added these Sonos speakers to a study and they sound great, especially for their size. They were extremely easy to set up and, as a L/R pair, there is an app to tune them to the room to help optimize sound. I also had the FIVEs and loved them but had to return them because my wife felt that they were too large for the room. The ONEs still sound very good, with nice clarity and bass, and work well with Apple Airplay and Alexa. I would certainly recommend Sonos ONEs and FIVEs.

Gorgeous room-filling sound with your choice of Virtual Assistants. I chose Alexa and I am very happy with the improved accuracy over Amazon's very own echo devices, of which I own many. The music gently quiets down, when I speak commands and love the accuracy of fulfilling them. These little guys have some heft, so don't think you can just set it on top of some chintzy little floating shelf. Especially with the bass vibrating.

Sonos speakers and tech gear is hands down uncomparable to anything else on the market. I have Sonos One speakers in rooms that don't have built in speakers. I use Sonos Amps to power in-home speakers mounted in my ceiling. Sonos is at the office. Sonos is everywhere! The ability to easily tie in multiple speakers and then peel them out is fantastic. For instance, you can play baby lullaby music in common areas and the nursery while you're trying to get your little one to sleep, then easily flip over the common area speakers back to Led Zeppelin while the baby's speaker continues to play uninterrupted! Sonos is the way to go.

Sonos One Review Let me get right to the point, the Sonos One is my favorite smart speaker. This is a big statement for me as I currently own multiple Amazon Echo devices, Google Home speakers, and the Apple HomePod. What makes the Sonos One so great is that it simply sounds fantastic. Below you will find a number of positives and a few of the negatives for this amazing smart speaker. Positives: + The build quality is fantastic, it has somewhat of an industrial look and feels like a well-designed device. + This is an Amazon Alexa device. It is important to note that not all of the Alexa features are available on the Sonos One (Amazon’s got to save a few special things for its own devices). + A large number of streaming services are available through the Sonos app. + The Sonos One can be combined with another Sonos One to create a stereo pair. This makes this speakers amazing sound even better. + Sonos is known for easy, high-quality multi-room audio. This speaker is one of the smallest and most affordable devices that Sonos currently sells. Essentially, this makes the Sonos One a great speaker to be placed in multiple rooms of the house. + I am an iPhone user and the Sonos One is thankfully AirPlay 2 compatible. Negatives: - While the speaker has the core “Smart” buttons (Play/Pause, volume up and down, and a button to turn on/off Alexa), I do wish these were physical as opposed to touch buttons. - This device does not have an aux input or Bluetooth. - Setting up the device within the Sonos and Alexa app could be difficult for some users. - The Sonos One can be tuned for a room using a Sonos feature called Trueplay. I found Trueplay to be surprisingly effective, but you have to have an iOS device to use this feature. Again, I love this speaker. However, I must provide the reader with one word of caution, Sonos products can be quite addictive. I started off with one little speaker and now I own over a dozen Sonos speakers.
