Very Good quality sound for both tv and music listening. Has plenty of bass for us (we’re not gamers or thumping bass fans). Really enjoy easy access to streaming services. The app is easy to set up and use. Playbase looks great in our living room.

Really great sound! It has a very good sub built in! The best sound bar by far

The Sonos playbase is the quality speaker you would expect from Sonos. Surprisingly there is decent base from a playbase with such a low profile. I like the options of white or black for color and the software for controlling it is smooth and doesn't require a huge learning curve. Like all Sonos speakers it is not dependent on your mobile device or your pc. The only reason for either one of those is to control the speaker. Lots of music services to stream from and fully capable of playing from your local music library. Lets not forget this is a speaker for the tv and it holds up well for movies and tv shows. The Sonos sub is a great companion if you are considering it.

Purchased this item as a gift and he loved it! Set up was user friendly and the sound is amazing! Pair it with speakers abs have great surround sound. Will make you a huge fan of Sonos

I love the simple plug and play ease of setting up this system. It has greatly increased our tv viewing pleasure with full bodied balanced sound. It is sleek and fits discreetly under our tv above the fireplace mantel.

I was looking for a new sound bar and stumbled upon this beast of a device. The price scared me and made me think would it be worth it. I can honestly say this is one heck of sound bar device! You can hear and feel the sounds. Watched a racing movie and I could hear every engine roar on by and felt like I was on the set of the movie watching or live. This was definitely a good investment and easy to use. 3 wires and the app set up is simple and great. Paired with my remote so I can use the app to change volume or the remote. The night time mode helps me make sure those sleeping are not disturbed by the rumbles of this sound bar. Recommend to anyone looking to take their leisure time to the next level!

I wrote a review some months ago that I could have cried because I had to return the playbase since my tv did not work properly with it. I was able to upgrade the firmware of my TV. A trick that I found out on Sonos forums is that if you have an incompatibility of your tv, you can buy a HDMI switch with an optical audio output to put in between your TV and your equipments (Roku, BluRay, TiVo, etc) .... and it works!!!! So, to be very clear: the playbase is amazing. The bass are great and you will probably not need to buy a subwoofer with it. I used the Sonos app to tune the Playbase (the bass were too much in my room before tuning) and it works very well. Nice bass, do not have to adjust the volume in between action scenes and dialogue (even whispered). Definitely a great product.

Fantastic sound - looks great, great for tv, music, and movies.

Although I still have my usual gripe about these products being too expensive, it performs flawlessly and setup was easy as well. Also, it is nice when the product comes with the required cables instead of having to make extra purchases. For a smaller sized room, the sound is quite good - far better than the tv speakers. If you want the really low range for bass, probably need to get a sub-woofer, but if not using in a full surround sound type setup (with sub and 2 more rear surround speakers) - then I think not necessary to spend all that extra money.

I'm biased. I love Sonos products (with the exception of the new Sonos One)...so, I've owned both the playbase and the playbar, I like the lower profile base, the sound quality on both are about the same: amazing. We most likely won't set our tv on it, but it can hold up to 70lbs. I think this is just another well-made product.

Good sound, easy setup. Fits right under TV.......

Everything is just excellent. I made sure that all the pieces of the system worked together. The surround sound is just right. Music play is great. Paired the play base with two play ones and I integrated it with Alexa. Did not need a subwoofer. Make sure that you can get dd 5.1 optical signal. I use a flexson switch.

This speaker sounded excellent by itself, but pairing the Playbase with two Play:1 surrounds increased the overall sound quality drastically. Night and day improvement. The sound is now perfectly blended throughout the room and the already excellent bass response improved significantly. I'd recommend adding surrounds immediately. A sub really isn't necessary unless you're in need of earthquake-level bass. This is an impeccably designed product that we will use for years to come.

I purchased the Sonos playbase to add the home theater effect to an LG brand OLED TV purchased at the same time. I have used a Bose brand base for several years and this one is like upgrading to the premium version without reinventing the wheel. Sound is rich and full, and conversation on television programs and movies is very good. I give it only 4 stars as I have yet to connect it to my LG remote, but the SONOS app on my phone is easy to access and use.

I chose this product to allow for better low-volume listening. With three kids under the age of nine listening to TV in the evening is always a challenge. Great sound at low or high volumes. Decent bass with no sub. Plan to add a few sonos 1 or 3 with time. Snug fit under my Sony 65 inch TV. Looks good though

I've been a sonos lover for years now and have gone back and forth on purchasing the playbase or just adding the sub to my playbar and we decided to purchase this to add to our living room and move the playbar to another room. The playbase sounds great with our 2 play 1's, highly recommended for the money!!

I purchased a Sony sound bar that got decent ratings. When I got it home I realized there wasn’t much difference between the sound bar and the tv speakers. So, I spent more than hear what that would be like. Well worth it!!! This is a great system. I also purchased the Sonos base with it. Love it so far!

I love Sonos. The sound fills the room. I disconnected the speakers from my tv in lieu of the Playbase and joined the Playbase with a Sonos Sub. Very pleased. I love Sonos anyway. This just adds to my confidence in the Sonos product. I also enjoy listening to music through the Playbase. Awesome sound.

Having already set up Sonos throughout the inside of my home and Sonance outside, I was addicted to the sound quality and simplicity of managing music. The soundbar and subwoofer connected to my TV - while from a great brand and high quality - just didn't deliver the resonance of the rest of the system. Now it does - I actually had to turn the Sonos subwoofer down to avoid shaking the house when an explosion would happen in a movie. The voice enhancement and nighttime modes are excellent.
