Sonos Soundbase is the very best solution for a soundbar if TV not mounted on wall. Great clear sound and bass. And if used and grouped with a couple of Sonos Play 1's or Sonos One's you get great surround sound too. I could not believe the quality. Much better than a Sonos Soundbar in my opinion. I tried both. I am holding off getting a separate Sonos Sub. Read reviews on your own.

This was a great addition to my surround sound system, Each new sonos product seems to be better and look better than their already great previous products.

Bought this new Sonos product instead of the sound bar. The slim profile was better for my room use. Sound is very good and has a lot of clarity, particularly voices on TV. My opinion is you will want the subwoofer to accompany this unit to get rich bass sound.

Sonos Playbase is an amazing product that is jam packed with good sound. It is one stop buy for all those who are confused among multiple brands and are not able to finalize one. It has bass for bass lovers , it has sounds that play every note every word. With its tuning technology you can ensure that entire room is just filled with one sound.

I owned many Sonos products. The Sonos base is very good for improving TV sound as well as giving your TV a little bit of elevation on your table or stand where your TV is located. You can pair other Sonos speakers with the play bass to give you weird channel surround you can also connect a sub for even more enhancement.

This is a great all in one sound bar. You can now connect it to the new Sonos One speakers to get complete surround sound. You can also steam you misic!!

The sound quality is amazing! I really enjoy the whole system and how I can take a speaker upstairs with me when I want to listen to Pandora. Love it!

The Sonos Playbase has blown me away so far. Easy to setup like any Sonos, and I have it paired with two Play 1’s and am getting Dolby Digital 5.1 audio from all compatible content. It’s connected to a Sony 55x900e via optical and the pairing is amazing. If you’re planning on buying, just make sure your TV can pass through Dolby audio via optical for external sources!

Sound quality is great & installation couldn't be easier. We wanted significantly improved sound without needing a lot of speakers or a receiver. And with a clean look. We weren't looking for major sound processing or surround sound. Yet, you can feel bass and explosions without it being too much. You can always add more speakers if you need more. We're very happy with it.

After reading many reviews of sound bars as well as sound bases, and going in to Best Buy and checking out their options, and listening to them, I decided to go with the Sonos Playbase. I'm thrilled with my decision....easy to set up even for the technically challenged as I am. Sound quality with the built in base is awesome as is the music that you can play through it.

The Sonos sound system is excellent. The voices are clear and it is like having a surround system. It is programmed to the size of my room.

Sounds great and fills the room! I had to return because it did not fit under my TV - If you can fit this in your system, its well worth it

Great overall sound including enough base that you really don't need a subwoofer. A subwoofer would add more, but it becomes your choice as to whether this is enough alone. I have it placed on a cabinet under my wall hanging TV and they look great together. Besides TV, it plays music all day. Wonderful addition to our lives. Buy it.

Easy setup, easy to operate, great sound and looks great

Wanted to improve the sound so we could better understand spoken dialogue. This fit the bill, and was very easy to set up. Couldn't put our TV on it though (to large, wrong type of stand) so had to buy the additional support for TV.

Good projection with slight "illusion" of surround sound. I added two Sonos 1 speakers for better surround sound integration. Bass is fair, but not explosion-rumbling. Probably will be adding the Sonos subwoofer for that. Note that there is NO HDMI connector, the sound from the TV is by optical cable only. In actual use, this makes no difference, as the HDMI sources are connected directly to the TV, which acts as the input controller as well. This is a different setup style vs the more traditional AV Receiver type.

Sonos - PLAYBASE is something I needed. Was looking for something that would be compatible with my Big Flat Screen TV. Easy to set up, great sound, and likes design of the speaker. Looking forward to purchasing the Sonos Woofer and additional speakers.

Wasn't sure between the playbar or playbase, sales said really ain't much difference. Glad I went with this one because my media table is small and I can place PS4 and cable box neatly on top of this. Would not have been able to keep a playbar. Awesome sound, sometimes I look back when watching something because of the surround quality. Nice design
