I am writing this review 2 years after my purchase. I was very happy with the playbar, (2) One's and the Sub, when it worked. The Sub stopped working about 18 months after purchase. SONOS customer service spot checked the sub and determined it was defective. The end result, I could get a replacement for $389. All I can say is I am very disappointed.

It's expensive. You've already spent a small fortune. You're wife or husband is probably telling you about the trip to wherever that you could have went on instead of buying all your sonos products. Don't listen. Instead, buy this sub. I started with a play 5. Loved it. Paired it with my Samsung tv via the audio jack and was impressed with the sound. I then bought another play 5 and a sonos soundbar. Controlling the volume (via soundbar) with my Apple TV 4 remote was convenient especially for my wife. No fiddling with the sonos app. The soundbar is fantastic. I figured with two play 5's in stereo to compliment the soundbar, my setup would satiate my sonos thirst. Negative. My soul ached for more bass, 5.1 surround sound and a churro. I settled for the first two. I figured the sonos bass would give me what my setup lacked but the thing costs a grip. After reading a ton of reviews with others whom had the same concern I decided to take the plunge. I couldn't be happier. The bass is deep, no rattle and it takes movies and music to the next level. I now hear bass in movies that I never knew was there before. It really feels like you are in the movie theatre. If you crank it up you can feel it reverberate through your body. Two play 5's for surround sound is like having a Ferrari but only driving it around the block with a school zone along the way. If I had a do-over I would have purchased the bass and soundbar first. Then I would have bought two play 1's for surround. Again, Sonos is expensive but the setup could not be easier, there are no wires to deal with, portability is a huge plus and the sound is phenomenal for all but the pickiest of audiophiles. The bass is probably my favorite sonos purchase which is good because now I'm broke.

It’s an okay sub however for the price it should provide a richer heavier bass sound but it does not. Wireless feature is nice.

I was looking forward to owning a Sonos system. I was disappointed as it kept losing its connection. I had to return it.

Was excited to get both sonos soundbar and sub. However sub never would connect. After calling Geek squad a few times and finally getting them to agree to come out and check set up (they originally installed it and set it up) they didn’t show up. I took sub back and had it credited back to my BBCC. Disappointed they would not give me cash bc I had already paid my balance on my card so now have a credit.

Lot of hype from the sales people and good sound on the pre recorded store demo but real life it is somewhat vanilla.

I was talked into buying the sonos By a best by staff member I was looking at A different unit I should about the other one

I’m ok with it it doesn’t sound as good as in the store and was confusing to get satalite speakers connected.

Sounds awesome, a little on the BIG side as it sticks out from wall under tv. Setup could be easier & shorter.

There is an issue with the 5.1 surrounding sound being run through a Samsung tv 6 series for all Sonos products

Worked well for about a week, then just would not connect to my Sonos system. Had to return it.

I don't notice a performance enhancement from a previous (less expensive) Sony wired bass

The product quality is very good but cuts off at least once per listening session

wish the device had more thump. kind of unimpressed for the price.

For the price it was set for I expected window shaking bass...

The sound I get at home is not at good as the sound at store.

We bought after a great display in store. Got it home and it is completely wireless. The sound is not as good as our Bose system that is wired. I know wireless is "the thing" now but we will stick with the wired systems.

Not as good as thought I would be. Price is too high.

This subwoofer makes a loud popping sound. We thought it was defective but the second one did the same. A little research and this is apparently a known issue with this model.
