I have had a Sonos soundbar for a couple years that was given to me as a gift, and I've wanted the sub to go with it for some time, but was always put off at the high price. I finally decided to spend the money and get the sub. It's true, you get what you pay for, and the Sonos sub is pretty incredible. It's compact, wireless, and a breeze to set up. I'm sure you can find other subs that sound good for less, but the user interface with the app is SO simple it blows me away. I had this sub out of the box and set up within 10 minutes. And the sound quality is as good as it should be at a $700 price point (at time of review). I get a more full sound when watching tv/movies, adjusting the EQ is simple, and the small size and wireless setup make it easy to place anywhere. As I said before, you get what you pay for, and if you can get past the price of this sub, I can assure you that you won't be disappointed.

So far this thing is unreal! -Sounds awesome. Amazing range, and the deep bass is the best part, you can feel it without it having to be to loud and overpowering. My wife usually complains about too much bass, but I'm able to keep this at a reasonable level for my personal preference and keep her happy at the same time. In fact, she hasn't mentioned it once, even at times where I feel like it could be turned down a tad. -It's nice that it's wireless and can be placed anywhere in your room to suit your needs. -The sound of this thing is worth 5 stars alone. -The initial setup was a breeze. But I had a major problem when I got a new router for my internet and had to switch all my Sonos to the new network. I'll go more into this later. Here's where it loses a few points: -The price. It's quite possibly the most expensive sub on the market, without going professional grade. But, for the sound quality, and as long as it lasts a long time, it'll be well worth it. -It works off of wifi and not bluetooth. Now maybe this is the best thing these days. But I had a very hard time switching everything to a new network. It took me over an hour on the phone with tech support to get everything back up and running correctly, and I'm somewhat tech savvy myself. -The Sonos app is not easy to use. Too much going on. It takes about 5 sub menus to adjust sub and surround levels. -The Alexa functions don't work well with other Alexa devices. Now, I didn't but this for Alexa, but I did want it to connect to my other Amazon Alexa speakers when I play music in my Everywhere Group. So far I can't get this to work.

Takes Your Music and Movies To The Next Level

Like many people, I was hesitate about buying this sub to match with my sound bar (Sonos Beam for me). I did a lot of research and tried to convince myself that I didn't need. Let me tell yall something, this sub is incredible. Let's get down to business shall we? PRESENTATION: Right out of the box, the presentation is good. wrapped very well and smells luxury (if that even makes sense). PERFORMANCE: I live in an apartment and this sub had my dirty pots and pans shaking, along with my furniture where the TV was sitting. I had the sub to level 50 (default setting) and that was enough for movies and music. I mainly listen to rap/hip hop, so that should tell you that I like a lot of bass and power (or maybe it doesn't). PLACEMENT OF SUB: Ok, this section is very important. Sonos says that the placement of the sub doesn't matter. Which is true to a certain degree. However, I had my sub right next to my TV on the left side at first (because it looked better). Nevertheless, I wasn't getting the sound I wanted without turning the sub level up between 70-80%. I couldn't hear anything while the sub was on 50% to be honest. It sounded weak and I was getting disappointed. Anyway, I move my sub from the left side to a open area on the right side of the TV in a corner. What a difference that made, now I'm getting the same effect I was getting while the sub was at 70-80% at 50% sub level. I'm saving money there because I'm not using as much power, so make sure when you buy the sub to play around with the placement because that is going to be key to getting the right sound. You might have to sacrifice between looks and sound. The sub will still sound good anywhere you put it (by turning the sub level up), but I wanted to best sound possible and now I got it by making a minor adjust of the placement. Now if I turn the sub up 70-80% while it's in the corner......it's a earthquake and I ain't lying. Lets be honest though, nobody "needs" a sub. However, if you are somebody who has the extra money, loves power/bass and already has a sonos beam, playbar, playbase etc....then this sub is for you and you will not regret it.

    Sleek, Powerful Sound

I love Sonos. They have a way of producing sound and products very well. I own the Playbar and one Sonos One, and now this amazing Sub. I love the size of this subwoofer, especially compared to my previous Polk powered subwoofer. This one is easily 1/3 the size. It is easy to set up like all of Sonos’ lineup and performs like a champ. I was very surprised when I listened to music with this sub for the first time. It was a different bass-feeling experience than I had had previously. In my experience, to feel good bass you need a powerful subwoofet that, while delivering noticeable bass, will shake your walls and picture frames. This sub is different. The bass is noticeable, but not overwhelming. In fact, I experienced lower-frequency bass I never had before. Like I said, it is unique and hard to explain, but this subwoofer manages to fill the air with bass without causing an earthquake in your living room or bedroom (where mine currently is). I’m very happy with this purchase. One note, if you are OCD about dust, you may want to consider the white model. The material of this sub is like a high-gloss piano black, that with static, will attract dust and lint.

Great bass boost to my SONOS home entertainment system. On the plus side I was really worried that our massive home entertainment center would rattle and clink with the vibration of the sub being set on it, but not one sound has the wooden center with glass inlaid shelves made. While you can stick your hand into the center hole of the sub and feel the sound waves crashing against your skin, the sub itself is dampened well enough not to rattle or shake. The REST of the room, however, is filled with heavy whooshing and zooming sounds. Works well lying on its back or front or standing up, however you need to position it, it’s got you. Setup is easy as always as long as the sub has sufficient WiFi signal. Just plug it in, tap add new device, and follow the prompts on the app. Waited for a long time for this piece of equipment, and am well-pleased. On the minus side, as with all SONOS products, it’s very pricey. Since we had already invested in the home theater 5.0 system, it seemed foolish not to make the leap to glorious, 5.1, hi-fi, Dolby-Atmos-compatible, sound so we did.

Got this as the last big addition to the total SONOSification of my house. Just like all SONOS products the set up is really easy with the app and it connected to my Playbase without issue. The thing is HEAVY, but looks really nice so its fine to have just hanging out in your flat. I wasn't sure if it was working for a while but then something I played kicked off with a large bass tone and I felt the thing rumble away. If you have a big SONOS unit like a 5 or a Playbar you won't feel too much from it all the time, but its there when your sound needs it

    Sonos SUB brings the lows

I purchased the SUB along with the Sonos Playbar and added to two existing Play1’s to create a surround system for my tv and living room. Set up was relatively easy and quick. The app walked you through the process very effectively. I did start w the Playbar then added the SUB followed by the Play1’s. The app offers decent control for the sound set up. It allows you to add more or less SUB to your surround mix. At its highest setting the SUB actually is very powerful to the point it’s too much. So plenty of low-end Bass is available if wanted. The trick is finding the sweet spot where normal tv viewing and movies both sound good. At its highest level, Bass is too much for normal tv viewing. But nice that you have it if needed for louder movies or music to fill your house. The finish is a high gloss black. Which I’m torn on whether I like or not. Pet hair does cling to it very easily. Sonos DOES give you a microfiber cloth to keep the fingerprints and dust off. Nice touch. Settings in the app for music EQ and tv EQ separately is a nice touch and a convenient feature. The Playbar does offer an acceptable about of bass, however the SUB brings the rumble and feel of the bass which makes movies and music more enjoyable.

I have a playbase, sub, and 2 ones (with Alexa). I advise setting these up one at a time with the sonos app first and second with the Alexa app, so you can name them for later identification. Ex. Set up a playbase or sound bar first in sonos app, then set it up in the Alexa app. Continuing back and forth between apps until you set them all up. I haven't owned the playbar, but the sound from the playbase alone is enough for surround sound. We played a surround sound test on it and it sounds amazing. It even has enough bass that you probably wouldn't need a sub, unless you prefer a lot of bass. The sub bass is ridiculous. I live in a house and we have it only half way up because it is so strong. Pros: Alexa enabled Amazing sound quality Appealing design Plays music by voice (through Alexa) or the sonos app from amazon, spotify, and a lot more. You can adjust music and surround sound to be softer or louder than other speakers. The glitches can be updated to fix them. Cons: Couldn't get pandora to link Doesn't have all Alexa functioning All speakers decrease volume when talking to any Amazon's Alexa devices that are linked in your Alexa app. Setup is a little frustrating. If not setup properly, speakers will intermittently cut out. Have to buy special mounts for rear speakers (expensive). The speakers themselves are quite expensive. The playbase doesn't look right under a larger tv. (I set mine under my entertainment center). Can't setup more than 4 speakers (base/bar, sub, and 2 rear speakers) The app could be better with the layout.

My first sonos speaker was a Sonos Play:1. I decided to get a second Play:1 a few months ago and was amazed by how much richer the sound was. When I added the subwoofer and the soundbar to my speaker system I was amazed by how rich the sound was. This subwoofer has the capability of shaking your entire house if that's how you like to listen to your music. I have it set to about 20% bass capacity and listening to music or watching music is unreal! Hands down the best feature of sonos is how easy it is to set up. The application for sonos is also unbelievable and connects to basically all music services out there. If you're looking into purchasing a sound system, I highly recommend Sonos. The system is easy to scale (you do not have to buy all speakers at once) and the quality of sound is superior.

Obviously you are buying this sub because you already own Sonus equipment. It is a good sub but you are paying for a great sub. I love Sonos, I have too many of their products. I also have a dedicated 7.2 theater setup. The Sonos sub does not compare to those subs but it wasn’t meant to. I had to hide mine because my wife doesn’t know I bought it but these are meant to be heard AND seen. Great sound, easy setup and beautiful design. Very happy with it.

Got this sound bar to pair with the Sonos Playbar. It is nescessary to fill in the missing low end frequencies from the play bar and to get that deep bass from a relatively small size. The sub is gorgeous, looks wise, you can’t beat the piano gloss finish even though it smudges with the slightest of touch. The sub is also deceivingly heavy, but the build quality is top notch. For my other systems I have high end Klipsch reference and bowers & Wilkins subs, but the Sonos sub definitely can keep up.

Amazing, reliable sub with superb quality and perfect sync. Super easy to set up. Powerful, yet really well balanced. Doesn’t feel overly boomy, but has a ton of range. Great for both music and tv/movies. Love the way it pairs with the rest of the system. Also doesn’t hurt that it looks beautiful! Well worth the price.

I purchased the SUB to complement the Sonos Sound bar. The bas is deep and rich but almost too much base. With the app it is easy to adjust it so it isn't over the top. Fits nicely right under my sofa too and you don't even see it. It is a bit pricy compared with other options but if you are expanding an existing Sonos system it is a good option.
